Chapter 1

*Sky*

Five years later…

As we boarded the jet, I did my best to hide my nervousness. I clutched my bag tightly my anxiety making it hard to breathe.

“I’m sorry,” Raven said coming to sit next to me taking my hand in hers.

“I know that this is going to be hard for you. Thank you for not bailing on us, even if we would have totally understood if you had.”

“I’ll be okay,” I said lying not wanting her to feel worse than I knew she already did.

Jason and Stephen had ironically become good friends.

No matter how uncomfortable I was I had to admit that it was better than flying commercial.

This was insane.

Jason and Raven started dating a few years ago. Although I had never imagined them together, they were truly perfect for each other.

We were heading to Hawaii for their bachelor getaway. A wedding gift from Stephen.

The thought of seeing him again after all these years was something I wanted to avoid as long as I could.

“It was a long time ago. I’m over it.” I said reassuring her.

If he didn’t have an issue seeing me after all these years that why should I.

“Jason needs you for something.” Trevor said Raven getting up.

“Let me go see what he wants.” She said leaving Trevor to take her place.

“I got you,” he said placing his hand on mine.

I was grateful for Trevor and his friendship. It had taken Jason and Raven getting together and forcing us to spend more time together for us to finally talk things out.

After a drunken night and a bunch of tears we were closer than ever.

“I’m glad you’re here.” I said with a smile.

“You’d be feeling a whole lot better right now if you had sold the ring.” He joked.

“I’m giving it back,” I said pulling it from my bag.

“Why am I not surprised. That’s okay though I’m going to stick it to him this weekend. I’ll take a hundred of everything.” He grinned because Stephen was picking up the tab for this whole trip.

I knew no matter how many of anything we got it wouldn’t put a dent in Stephens pocket, but it made me smile anyway.

“You do that.” I laughed feeling better already.

A few hours later I sat in my room just marveling at the beautiful view. The outer walls were made of floor to ceiling glass that lead out to a terrace. I was transfixed by the smell and sound of the ocean.

How beautiful would it be to get married here? I thought looking at the diamond ring on my finger with a smile.

I had been shocked when Logan had proposed to me a few weeks ago. I don’t know who was more excited me or Raven.

“You ready,” Trevor said poking his head in.

“We are all meeting Stephen for dinner. His flight just landed.”

“Great,” I said standing up smoothing down my sundress. I grabbed my sunglasses and phone and headed to the door.

“Let’s get this over with,” I said.

Trevor took my hand in his interlacing our fingers. When we arrived at the restaurant entrance, he squeezed my hand trying to reassure me before letting go.

I could do this I told myself before walking in Trevor at my side.

When we walked in, I saw them right away. Stephen had his back to me a blonde woman to his left.

“We made it,” Trevor said all eyes turning to us.

“Hey,” I said with a smile.

I could feel Stephen’s gaze on me, but I ignored it. Trevor maneuvered me into my seat which was thankfully across from Raven.

“I ordered us drinks,” Raven said pointing to the drinks in front of us.

“You shouldn’t drink,” Trevor said loud enough for everyone to hear. “You know since you’re not feeling good.” He said because he knew I was six weeks pregnant and hadn’t told anyone but him yet.

“Your right I don’t want to throw up all over the place.” I smiled thankful for him.

“You’re not feeling good?” Raven asked concerned.

“I’m fine just a bit nauseous. Don’t worry it’s probably a stomach bug.” I said still feeling Stephen’s gaze on me.

“How was your flight?” Stephen asked.

“Nice,” Raven beamed.

“Definitely better than flying commercial.” Jason laughed.

“Is Logan flying up?” Trevor asked knowing that he wasn’t.

“Um…no he’s got court.” I answered.

“Did he know that Stephen was going to be on this trip?” Trevor joked earning a glare from me.

I wanted to choke him, and he knew it.

“Is that your boyfriend?” The girl asked curiously.

“Fiancé actually.” I said flashing the ring on my finger.

“It’s beautiful,” the girl gushed.

“Thank you. I love it too.” I smiled because I couldn’t help it.

“Speaking of beautiful rings,” Trevor said taking a ring box from his pocket and handing it to me.

I glared at him because I hadn’t wanted to do this in front of everyone.

Stephen’s eyes zeroed in on it clearly recognizing it. He sat up straighter in his chair and waited.

Everyone at the table knew what was happening except Stephen’s guest.

“Oh my gosh thanks for bringing my ring.” Raven said getting up and taking it from my hand.

“Would you come to the bar with me?” She said looking at the girl next to Stephen.

“Sure,” she said getting up with a smile.

“Could you hold this for bit longer?” She said placing the box in front of me before they walked away.

“What the heck?” I said hitting Trevor on the arm accusingly.

“That hurt,” he complained.

“Good cause you deserved it.”

“It’s best you just rip that band aid off quickly.” He grinned not in the least sorry.

I looked over to Stephen and like always he was immaculate and so incredibly handsome.

It had been a long time since I had been anywhere near him and a million memories came flooding back. I closed my eyes for a few seconds to gather my thoughts.

“I hadn’t planned on doing it this way, but I thought it was best to return this to you. I held on to it a lot longer than I should have.” I said sending the box gliding across the table to him.

Raven and the girl came back before he could say anything.

“That’s a Blue Diamond ring,” the girl said holding her hand out to him.

Stephen handed her the box and smiled when she opened it. The girls eyes widened in awe and excitement.

“The Sky collection,” she said looking up at him.

“Oh my god, you’re that Sky.”

“Do you know how many rings were inspired by this one? This diamond is so rare that there will never be another one like it.” She said holding the ring up to the light.

“No one’s going to believe me.” She said taking a picture of it making Stephen laugh.

“Of course you named a whole diamond collection after her.” Trevor snorted at Stephen.

Stephen grinned but said nothing meeting my eyes.

“I’ll love you forever,” she said reading the inscription that I hadn’t known was there.

“Everyone this is Trina the head of my design department.” Stephen said introducing her.

“We have a meeting in the morning, and he felt bad leaving me at the hotel, so he brought me along.” She grinned.

“Best boss ever.”

“Of course he is.” Trevor laughed.

She handed the ring box back to Stephen and he held it in his hands for a few seconds before setting it down on the table.

He picked his phone up and I watched as his fingers danced across his screen before looking up with a grin.

My phone lit up with a notification to my bank. There had been a deposit for fifteen million dollars.

“No you just didn’t.” I said standing up angry.

“What did you do?” Trevor glared at him.

“I simply paid her what the ring is worth.” He said innocently.

“Which is exactly how much.” Raven asked curious.

“Fifteen million,” he grinned making me want to throw something at him.

“Take your money back.” I glared at him.

“I don’t want it.” I growled.

“I know. Which is why I want you to have it. This ring was a gift. One I will never give another. It’s the money or the ring.” He said fire in his eyes.

The room started to spin my hand going to my stomach. Trevor was out of his chair and at my side in seconds but not before everyone figured out the obvious.

I felt Trevor lift me into his arms, but I was stuck in a sea of black unable to open my eyes.

“She’s pregnant you idiot take the fucking money back.” Trevor growled.

“I’m not taking it back.” Stephen argued.

“Why are you making this so hard for her. She getting married and having a baby. Let her go already.” Raven said her voice full of emotion.

“It doesn’t matter that you were put in a bad situation the point here is that you hurt her. You married someone else Stephen and it took her forever to recover from it.” Raven said taking my hand.

“You had better not upset her again because I swear, I’ll fuck you up.” She said the fog starting to clear.

“You okay Sky?” Raven asked as my eyes opened.

“I’m good.” I said as Trevor set me on my feet.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Raven asked.

“I just found out this morning. Logan doesn’t even know yet.” I said with a smile.

“Trevor only knows because I had to tell someone.” I grinned.

“Will you hate me too much if I head back to the house.” I said looking at Raven and Jason.

“Girl go. You have to take good care of my niece or nephew.” Raven beamed.

“I’ll take you.” Stephen said standing up.

Trevor looked like he wanted to protest but he said nothing.

“No, its okay. I can find my own way.” I said not wanting to be anywhere near him.

“I’ll take you.” Trevor said standing up.

This was all spiraling. I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s fun. I could make it in my own.

“I can go by myself I’m not dying I’m pregnant,” I said not leaving room for discussion.
