Chapter 12

I woke up to warmth caressing my body. With my eyes still closed, I trailed my hand down my body and felt a large hand draped over my waist. The heat of Everett’s body was pressed firmly up against my back, and the heat of his breath wafting through my hair and onto my neck. Our legs were tangled in each other and the sheets.

I gently turned around in his embrace so I didn’t wake him. Our faces were mere inches away from each other, I could see the stubble that had started to grow on his jaw, his lips parted ever so slightly as he snores faintly, and the small purple shadows that lined his eyes were slowly fading. I slid my hand over his strong arm, light as a feather, and felt his bicep twitch in response. When I made it to the peak of his shoulder, his eyelids fluttered open.

The color of his irises seemed so much brighter in the soft morning light. His eyelids were still half opened as he took a deep breath and pulled my body closer to his. He let out a low growl as he nuzzled his face into my neck, which caused me to laugh as his stubble tickled me.

“Mornin.” He grumbled. Which made me laugh a little more. “Not a morning person?” I asked.

He sighed, “What makes you think that? Because waking up next you ever morning is going to change that rather quickly.”

The words he said made me feel the heat rising up my neck and up into my cheeks. He must have sensed it, because he immediately pulled back to cup my face and plant a kiss on each cheek. The electric shock I felt vibrating through my body made me freeze, waiting for what he was going to do next.

“You are beautiful.” He whispered before descending upon my lips. The kiss was soft and calm, at first. It wasn’t until he brushed the seam of my lips with his tongue that all bets were off. As soon as I opened my mouth to him, his tongue invaded it, searching and becoming familiar with it.

His tongue dominated mine and as my senses slowly came back to me, I took control of the kiss. I climbed on top of him, straddling him, never breaking the kiss. I ran my hands up his stomach, over his chest and delved into his thick dark hair. With a little tug of the hair, he let out a warning growl.

As I took control of the situation, I began grinding my hips into his, creating the friction my drenched center desperately needed. Another set of ruined panties. I felt his rock hard dick rubbing against my clit through the thin material of the clothing we were wearing. I moved my mouth from his and made my way towards his neck, kissing and nibbling my way there.

Everett panted and let out a few strained grunts as he brought his hands down my back and landed them on the thick globes of my ass. He squeezed and forced my hips to work at a quicker pace. I threw my head back and moaned his name as I felt my pussy clench, climbing towards a release.

“Relax, and let yourself cum for me.” Everett panted out.

I did as he said and let him manipulate my hips. As my body was just about to reach my climax, there was a knock at the door.

“Amelia!” Charlie said. And I froze.

I jumped off Everett quicker than I have ever moved before. Burying my face in my hands, I stuttered out, “Y-yes, Charlie?”

“We are playing football today, remember?” He yelled through the door, which caused Everett to chuckle at his eagerness.

I peeked through my fingers and looked at Everett with an apologetic smile. “Be right out!” Everett said without taking his eyes off me.

We heard the sound of his retreating footsteps, and Everett made his way over to me. “It’s okay, we have more time for that later.” He winked and slapped a hand on my firm ass.

If I could die of embarrassment right now, I would.

We made our way down stairs after cleaning up and began our day.

We played football for hours. Charlie truly loved every second of it. My dad and I were on a team and Charlie and Everett were on another. Charlie got to tackle us, make touchdowns, and just be a kid and play. A smile never once left his perfect, little face.
By the time lunch time rolled around, we made our way into our house. Its still strange to think of it as ours. Everett was preparing lunch for all of us as I sat at the dining table with my mom, dad, and a worn out Charlie. We joked around for a while until we finished eating and I noticed Charlie getting sleepy.
“I don’t know about you guys, but I think it’s time we took a nap.” I said, with a fake yawn.
“Do we have to, Amelia? I wanna go play outside.” Charlie asked as he jutted his bottom lip out. That little pout of his is going to get me in a lot of trouble.
“Oh, Charlie. I know you do, but there will be plenty of time to play after we nap.” I reasoned.
He just sighed and stood from his chair, he murmured a string of “see you laters” to everyone. Head hung low, he headed for the stairs and up towards his room. As my mom and dad excused themselves to go back to their room at the pack house, I turned to Everett.
“I’m going to go talk to him.” Somethings bothering him.
He gave me a quick nod and a small smile as he watched me walk up to Charlie’s room.
The door was closed when I got there so I lightly knocked on it. “Come in.” Charlie answered weakly.
I opened the door and shut it closed softly behind me. When I reached Charlie laying on his queen size bed, that seemed to almost swallow him whole, I stopped breathing.
Charlie’s eyes were red and puffy, his nose was dripping and he was shaking as he tried to control his sobs. I reached out and touched his arm in an attempt to comfort him. “Hey buddy, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“I-it’s just... it’s j-just” he tried to explain, but failed as another sob broke through his body. It was utterly heart breaking. I vowed to never let the smile leave his face and here he was crying his eyes out.
“It’s okay, Charlie. Relax. Everything is going to be okay.” I said in a soothing tone, still rubbing his arm. I kept repeating it over and over again until we both believed the words. When his body stopped shuddering, I looked over at him wiped his tears from his face and pulled him into a tight hug.
“What’s bothering that sweet mind of yours?” I asked calmly, holding him to my chest.
“I just wish my mama was here. She would love it here. I miss her so much, but I’m never going to see her again am I?”
My heart lurched and ached for this precious, innocent boy. He should have never been put into this situation in the first place, now I’m the one that has to be honest and tell him the truth.
“I’m not sure, buddy, but let me tell you this. We will make it right, okay? We will do whatever we can to make it right. Everett is on your side, my dad is on your side, and I am on your side. I mean with two Alphas, nothing will stand in your way. No matter what, we aren’t alone, we have each other.” I attempted with a grin on my face.
He gave me a small smile in return, and nodded his head. “Thanks, Amelia. They are pretty great to have around.”
“And what about me? Am I just chopped liver?” I joked and began tickling his sides. Attempting to lighten the mood and bring his full, real smile back to his face. As he began laughing and squealing, I knew I was successful... for now.
In between laughs, he managed to choke out, “Okay, okay, you are too.” Which made me send him a quick wink and stop my attack on his waist.
“That’s what I thought!” I chuckled. “Okay. Now, let’s take a quick nap and we can go back out and play around some more before dinner. How does that sound?”
He gave me a hug and kissed my cheek. “That sounds great. Thank you again, Amelia.”
When I stood up, I tucked him under his blanket and kissed his forehead. “Sleep good, buddy.” He was asleep before I even closed his door shut behind me.
My mind was reeling as I made it to the master bedroom, my thoughts staying on Charlie the whole time. He has been through so much, seen so much. That pup deserves the best life he could possibly imagine.
When I entered the bedroom, Everett was sprawled out on the bed. When he heard me close the bedroom door, he sat up and looked at me, concern filled his eyes. “Everything okay?”
“Not really.” I answered honestly. “Charlie misses his mom, and I’m not sure if he will ever see her again, if she’s even alive. Chris could have killed her for all I know. If it wasn’t him, then the mating bond will get to her eventually, if it hasn’t already.” I sighed deeply, trying anything to calm my nerves.
“Come here.” Everett said, patting the bed beside him.
I hesitantly walked towards the bed and plopped down beside him. He pulled he into his lap, placed his hands on my shoulders and began kneading my muscles slowly.
“We will find her, Amelia, or we will find out what exactly happened to her. Charlie is safe, you are safe, and we will do what we can to ensure the safety of everyone else. We have a solid plan and it will work. Stop stressing, just keep doing what you have been. Take care of that amazing boy in the other room, make his life better. Make him see that life is full of love and laughter, and not just a prison cell and oppression.” Goddess, I love this man. Wait, what?
I shook my head of the thought, even though I knew it was true. He was right, I needed to have faith in his plan, even if I didn’t know what it was yet.
“Speaking of the plan, what is it?” I asked skeptically. He stopped massaging for a split second and debated his answer. “I really don’t want you involved in this, Amelia.”
I pushed out of his lap and faced him, “What do you mean you don’t want me involved? I’m already involved Everett, there’s no reason why you can’t tell me and there is absolutely no reason why I can’t help.” I half-yelled at him, giving a look of disbelief.
He gave me a warning growl as if to say it was out of the question. He cannot expect me to sit around while he fights my battles for me. I am an Alphas daughter, I am strong, and I am fierce. Like Rita said, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
I returned his warning with one of my own. My growl came straight from my chest, loud and harsh. Everett looked me in the eyes and saw that I truly wasn’t backing down on this.
He let out a sigh after a few minutes, and shook his head. “Okay, let’s talk about this later, please. I wanted to tell you something.”
I rolled my eyes at him. Hell yeah, we would be talking about this later.
I sighed, letting it go for now. “What did you want to tell me?”
“Well, we have a party to attend tomorrow at the pack house so that I can introduce you as the Luna.” He said it with so much excitement, I almost forgot I was annoyed with him.
“A party?” I asked. “But what will I wear? I don’t have any clothes her-”
“Stop stressing, Amelia.” He stated firmly. “I already got you the perfect dress.” He added with a mischievous wink.
