Win paced back and forth across the living room, wringing his hands together nervously as we waited.
It was 3:28 PM.
"Winnie, it's going to be okay. We can work this out, alright?"
A loud knock on the door startled us both, even though we were expecting it. Win turned to me with a look of pure panic as he stood frozen in the middle of the room.
I walked over to answer the door for him, as he clearly wasn't able to do it himself. "Sofia. Come in."
She glared at me as she walked past me, strutting into the lounge where Win stood anxiously.
"Hi Win.... How are you doing?" She questioned cautiously, a hint of guilt in her voice.
Win stood unmoving, his voice coming out as barely a whisper. "...I'm fine."
He rigidly walked over and perched himself of the edge of one of the arm chairs, after Sofia had made herself comfortable in the middle of the couch, obviously wanting Win to sit next to her. I stood next to him with my hand on his shoulder, trying to offer him some support.
I had to fight back the urge to climb onto his seat and wrap myself around him from behind.
There was an awkward silence as Win and I both stared at Sofia expectantly, and she did the same to us. I ended up being the one to break the silence in the end.
"So, Sofia. Did you bring proof that this isn't just some elaborate plan to get back together with Win?"
"Yes, I brought the things the doctor gave me.... Here, take a look for yourself." She pulled out a pregnancy booklet, and a bunch of papers containing blood and urine test results, before holding them out to Win, who didn't move an inch.
I took them instead, and sure enough, they backed up her claims of being pregnant.
I was semi familiar with seeing those kinds of documents, because I had supported my mum through her pregnancy.
"Four weeks, you said?" I interrogated.
She nodded, seeming uncomfortable telling me these things. "Yeah. The doctor said that going by my last period, I was four weeks exactly."
"Okay... So the blood tests do confirm it... What do you plan to do Sofia?" I asked sternly, feeling Win tense rigidly at my question.
"I want to keep it, and I want Win and I to raise our baby together."
Win finally spoke, his voice rough with emotion. "We aren't together Sofia."
"Win, think about our baby! It takes two people to make a baby, so you need to help raise it." Sofia pouted at Win, who looked like he could explode at any second.
I gently squeezed his shoulder to remind him that I was right there with him. "Win, what would you like to do?"
"I.... Don't know.... I'm not ready to be a father..."
"Well maybe you should've thought about that before you got me pregnant." She huffed angrily.
Win rose from his seat, obviously beginning to lose his cool. "It's not like I did it on purpose. I thought I was being careful.... Obviously I wasn't careful enough though..."
"Can't we just try again Win? What am I supposed to tell my parents?" She retorted, rising from her seat as well. "Hey mum, hey dad. So, my ex knocked me up, then dumped me, and now won't take responsibility for his actions?"
"I dumped you because you kissed my Gray.... I mean... My brother..." He growled angrily, before awkwardly correcting himself.
I had to hold in my smirk as Win fumbled over his own words, trying to cover up the fact that he had just called me HIS Gray.
"... And I'm not saying that I won't take responsibility, I'm saying that we aren't getting back together."
"We'll see." She said confidently. "I have to go. I have dinner with my parents. I'll see you soon, Win."
She got up and strutted out the door like she was on a catwalk.
As soon as the door closed, Win turned around and kicked over the arm chair he had been sitting in while he yelled in frustration, before sprinting up the stairs, and slamming his bedroom door behind him.
God I fucking hate her.
I went upstairs and knocked on his door.
"Winnie? You okay baby?"
His voice sounded even weaker as it was muffled through the door. "Just... I just need to be alone for a bit..... Sorry Gray..."
"It's okay Winnie, I'll be in my room if you need me."
There was no reply to that, but I could faintly hear his soft, choked sobs.
My heart felt like it was being flayed slowly with a dull blade.
I went to my room and flung myself face first on my bed, burying my head in a pillow. I knew he would need some space to think and sort things out for himself, but I just wanted to hold him and tell him everything would be okay.
The next 3 days were excruciating.
Sofia had spread the "great news" that her and Win were back together, and were expecting a baby.
Win had locked himself in his room, only leaving it to use the toilet.
It was Thursday night, and I knew Wins big art project was due tomorrow, meaning he HAD to make an appearance at school.
I was laying on my bed, playing on my phone when I heard the sound of his bedroom door opening, before there was a knock on mine.
I quickly stood up and opened my door, pulling him inside, into an enormous hug. He let out a soft chuckle and wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his head in my chest.
"I missed you Winnie..." I whispered, barely able to stop the tears that were flooding my eyes.
"I know, I'm sorry... I missed you too..." He sighed, hugging me tighter as he spoke into my chest. "How did this even happen Gray? Like, I get condoms aren't 100% guaranteed to work, but....."
"I know Winnie..... Sometimes you just can't control things like this...."
He pulled out of our embrace, and walked me over to sit on my bed. "You know, when you got here almost four weeks ago, I thought that life was going to get even worse. But It was the complete opposite. I should've known that something had to happen to ruin my happiness."
I thought back to my first day here.
Win walking in on me half naked after a shower, then kicking my ass out of his door.
Hold on.... She said she was 4 weeks pregnant a few days ago, going by her last period... "Winnie.... When was the last time you slept with Sofia?"
He looked at me in confusion, then looked down at his feet awkwardly. "Uhhhhhh... About two weeks before you moved in... I was uh... Having some issues..... Getting it up...."
"Shit.... Winnie..... That doesn't line up!" I exclaimed in excitement, only to be met with more confusion from him.
