Chapter 7

I didn’t know what to do in the situation I was in, so I had driven to school and decided to keep calm. Jaxon wasn’t dead, so,...what? What happened now? I didn’t know so now my car was parked out in the school’s parking lot and I was eating my cold spaghetti for lunch.

“You ok?” Olive asks me for the 5th time today.

“Yeah. Just not hungry.” I say.

“No, it’s not that. It’s just that you’ve been acting really strange today.” She says. We’ve been hanging out for awhile so we’ve gotten pretty close, and she can tell when something’s wrong with me.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” I say putting on a fake smile to help her relax.

“Ok. Good.” She says and goes back to talking with the group we drifted to today. My eyes wander to the back of the cafeteria, to, wait is that Jaxon!?

“Olive, I’m going to get a new fork. This one’s broken.” I say bending my plastic fork to make it believable.

“Ok.” She says, and I dash over to where Jaxon is talking with his only, 2, really close friends.

“What the hell happened?” I ask him not waiting for him to know who it is. He turns around and stares at me.

“How are you not dead right now.” I say my vision blurring, my ears ringing.

“I told you I don’t get hurt.” he says, turning around. I grab his hand. “What are you?”

“Guess.” He says having fun toying with me.

“I don’t know, You tell me.”

I can’t. Besides, you’ll never believe or guess what I am.” he explains. Oh yes I would. I was willing to search the planet for answers on what he was, so we’d see about it buddy. We’d see about it.

I’m on my computer again. In the search bar I type, Mythical Creature who doesn’t get hurt, has red eyes, and is very attractive.

This send me to an answer place that then sends me to a book list about Twilight like books, and teen romance novels about vampires. Whatever. I keep looking up different things searching for a clue of what he might be, until it hits me. I’d never read Twilight before but my cousin had. She was a huge fan. She had even been writing a book for Renesmee’s life, Whoever that was.

“Hi Lucy, this is Araya.” I say on the phone.

“Hi Araya. OMG! How's LA?” She squeals with excitement,

“Um, good i guess. Listen, could you maybe tell me about what vampires and werewolves could be like if they were pretending to be humans. Like are the invincible or something?” I ask, my heart hammering in my chest,

“Well, I love Twilight. So you’ve called the right person. Um, vampires and werewolves are really hot, vampires usually have weird eyes, and both vampires and werewolves are really strong and fast.” Lucy goes on.

“Thank you so much Lucy. That was great info to know.” I say.

“Hey, Araya why do you want to know about this now?” Lucy asks shocked that I’d ask her about this since I’m usually so anti- fantasy and romance.

“Just a sudden urge to know more about this stuff.” I say. I mean it’s not lying.

“Ok. Well...bye.” She hangs up. So now I got my answers. I just don’t know how to feel about it. Happy? No. Because now I know that Jaxon and Lucas are either a vampire or a werewolf. In fantasies this would be great, but in reality it isn’t. And I know for sure I won’t trust them with my life, let alone my heart. And as in twilight, trusting them with my heart is an even bigger step to take. And after everything that had happened with me as a kid, I wasn’t so sure I was going to let these guys into my life. Especially after I knew what kind of dangers opening a door on them would cost me. It would cost me my life. And I was sure of it
