“You two ready to find out what you’re having?” The doctor asked, smiling at us. I looked at Lucas as he nodded his head.
“Yea we’re ready to find out.” I smiled squeezing Lucas’s hand. The doctor moved around a little bit before stopping in one spot.
“Congratulations you are having a little boy!”
“A baby boy.” I smiled looking up at Lucas. It’s crazy to believe that we’re having a little boy.
“He’s going to be so perfect.” I watched as she looked over my little boy checking over all his measurements.
“He’s doing really good. I’ll get these printed and I will see you two next time.”
“Thank you!” I smiled as she handed me a tissue and handed Lucas the pictures. He helped me up as we made our way to his truck.
“You ready momma?” He smiled helping me in.
“Yea are you happy it’s a boy?”
“I am, I would be happier either way.”
“Lucas, thank you for everything.”
“Of course.” He smiled reaching over placing a hand on my belly. I smiled feeling little man move around as Lucas rubbed my belly.
“Have you thought of any names?” he asked as we pulled up to the apartment.
“A couple but I don’t know.”
“Tell me.” I smiled, curling up on the couch. His arms wrapped around me pulling me to him, so he could rest his hand against my belly.
“Rowan or Josiah.” I smiled rubbing my hand down my belly.
“I like them.”
“Have you thought of any?”
“Not really, I was kind of waiting to see what the little one was. What do you think Rowan Josiah?”
“I love it, but do you?”
“Yea I think it fits our little man.”
“Then our little man is Rowan Josiah Underwood.” He gasped making me turn and look at him. Its something we never talked about, but it feels right.
“Are you sure?” I smiled nodding.
“Yea. No matter what you are always going to be his dad. I know if we decide that this isn’t going to work I know our son is going to be well taken care of.”
“I would have been fine with whatever you decided. I’m not going to lie it makes me happy that you chose to give him my last name.”
“It feels right.” I smiled leaning up to give him a kiss.
“Little RJ.” He sighed in content kissing my forehead. Sawyer sent me a text letting me know she and Blake were almost there.
“Siblings are almost here.”
“I have to get ready for work. Are you going to tell them?”
“Probably. You okay with that right?”
“Yea that’s fine.” I could tell he really wasn’t fine with it.
“Lucas I don’t have to tell them if you don’t want me to.”
“It’s fine.” He sighed pulling away going to get ready for work. I moved over getting in a more comfortable position.
“Momma loves you little man.” I smiled feeling his little body move around. Knocking on the door pulled me out of my thoughts. Carefully I got off the couch and went over answering the door.
“There she is.” Sawyer came in wrapping her arms around me. Tears filled my eyes as she held me tight against her.
“Kins, what’s wrong?′ They both looked at me worried.
“Nothing, I don’t know why I’m crying.”
“Hey, Guys. What’s wrong?” Lucas came right over to me once he realized I was crying.
“Nothing I’m okay, I promise. I think it’s just cause they're here and I miss them.”
“Okay, call if you need anything.”
“I will.” He leaned in giving me a kiss before leaving. Blake wrapped his arm around me as we sat down on the couch.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yea I think it was just we got into a little argument then seeing you guys.”
“What was it about?” Sawyer frowned looking worried.
“Telling you guys what the baby is. We never really made plans on how we were going to tell people.”
“As much as I want to know I think you should wait and figure out what he really wants to do.”
“So how are you two?”
“We’re okay. If it wasn’t for this little one I don’t think we would be together. Lucas is amazing and I know he’s going to be a great dad but...”
“Somethings missing.” I nodded playing with the hem of my shirt. I watched as my brother and sister both shared a knowing look. They knew something that I didn’t.
“You two are hiding something.”
“No, we’re just worried about you two is all.” I nodded feeling Sawyer’s hand against my belly. Little man gave her a nice kick making her smile. Things haven’t felt right in a long time.
“So, I talked to Dom last night, he wants to talk to you.” I haven’t talked to him since before I found out I was pregnant. I know he’s disappointed in me.
“I miss him, but I’m scared.”
“He misses you just as much.”
“Is he going to be there for the baby?” I looked up at Blake hopeful.
“He should be. He’s trying to come home early.”
“You okay?” Mom asked pulling me into her arms.
“Yea I’m just tired.” I sighed watching Lucas talking to our dads. Zoey smiled making her way over to us.
“You're more than welcome to crash here. I’m sure the little guy is taking of energy out of you.”
“Thank you, Zoey. I might take you up on that offer.” I smiled giving her hand a squeeze. I’m so thankful that Zoey and Logan are so great about everything. I know Rowan is going to be so loved and spoiled by his whole family. Lucas’s family has welcomed me with open arms.
“Dad and I should get going so you can get some sleep.”
“Thank you for coming, I’ll call you tomorrow.”
“Love you, sweetie.”
“Love you, momma.” She kissed my forehead pulling away before dad came over pulling me into his arms.
“Love you baby girl.”
“Love you, daddy.” I leaned up kissing his cheek before he pulled away. I walked over wrapping my arms around Lucas.
“Hey, do you want me to start a bath for you?”
“That would be amazing thank you.” I smiled leaning up to kiss his cheek. My phone went off as I pulled away from him.
“I’ll be there in a minute.” He nodded as he went upstairs. Dom’s name flashed across the screen making my heart skip a beat.
“Hello,” I whispered, trying to hold back the sob.
“It’s so good to hear your voice. I’m sorry I haven’t contacted you, so much is going on.”
“I miss you. I thought you would hate me.”
“Of course not. You know I could never hate you.”
“When are you coming back?”
“I wish I could say but I’m not sure right now. I promise I try my best and be there when the little one arrives.”
“It’s a boy.” I cried.
“Congratulations momma.” Tears filled my eyes, I couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Dom please come home I need you. I want you to be there and meet my son.”
“I will try my best. I have to get going. I miss you too. Hang in there a little longer and before you know it I will be home and your little one will be in your arms. Love you Kins.”
“Love you too. Promise to call more or write.”
“I will. Talk to you later.” I sobbed hanging up the phone. Thankfully I was in the room alone, so I could try and calm myself down. Giving myself a minute, I made my way up to the bathroom where Lucas was.
“What’s wrong?” He quickly got up coming over to me.
“Nothing, Dom just called. I haven’t talked to him since he left.”
“Come on let’s get you in so you can calm down a little bit.”
“Thank you.” He helped me get undressed before I climbed into the bath. He sighed resting the palm of his hand on my belly. I smiled resting my hand on the opposite side of his.
“I’m sorry about the other day. This is our first baby and I wanted it to be special.” He sighed playing with little man.
“I’m sorry too. I should have talked to you and we should have come up with an agreement. This is a huge deal for you. After all the girls and here you are finally becoming a daddy.”
“I guess I was scared. It seems like all my siblings hit the jackpot when they fell in love with their husband or wife. My two oldest sisters fell in love with their best friend. My twin brother married his high school sweetheart. Paisley met a great guy in college.”
“I get it high standards.”
“I just wanted to be sure that whoever the girl was she was the one I really wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
“It’s sweet and it makes a lot of sense.”
“Now I’m going to be a daddy to an amazing little boy.”
“Mommy and daddy love you, buddy.” I smiled as he leaned in giving me a kiss. Was the Lucas the one for me or was it someone else.
