“Look at me.” I turned to Lucas, sweat pouring down my face. He gave my hand another squeeze, kissing my forehead.
“You are doing so amazing. Kinsley, you’re so strong. I promise you are almost done then you can relax with him in your arms.” I nodded trying to focus back on the task itself. I’ve never been so tired in my life. He was right though soon I can relax with Rowan.
“One more Kinsley.” Finally, his little cry filled the room making me instantly cry. They laid him against my chest as they cleaned him off. Rowan looked at me for a second before going right back to crying. I looked up to Lucas to see he also had tears in his eyes.
“Hey, buddy.” I sobbed. I ran my fingers over his little head.
“I’m going to take him to get his measurements quick then I will bring him back.” I nodded watching the nurse take him.
“Thank you for letting me be here for this.” Lucas cried kissing my temple.
“Of course, thank you for everything.” He smiled leaning in for a kiss that I gladly accepted. I love Lucas, but I’m not in love with Lucas. The love that I have him is purely from being the father of my son.
“Okay momma, here’s your little one.” I smiled turning back to the nurse taking him into my arms. Lucas helped me move my gown, so I could curl him up on my chest.
“Do you guys have a name?” The nurse asked.
“Rowan Josiah.” I smiled kissing his little forehead.
“I love it.”
“He’s so perfect.”
“Figure’s he looks like you.” He had my nose while he had Lucas’s eyes.
“That’s my boy.” He smiled kissing his cheek. Rowan yawned before looking right at his daddy.
“How about you hold him before we let everyone in?”
“You sure?” I smiled helping him take Rowan from me. He is such a natural when it comes to little ones. I guess he’s a lot of practice with all his nieces and nephews.
“Hey, buddy.” I sighed watching the two of them while I got more comfortable. The knock on the door pulled me back to reality. I looked over and saw both of our moms with huge smiles.
“Hey. Come on in and see your handsome grandson.” I smiled as they made their way over to Rowan. Dad and Logan came in behind them. Logan went over to his with while dad came over and sat down next to me.
“Hi, daddy.” I smiled at him.
“You did it, baby. I can’t believe my baby girl is a mommy.”
“I can’t believe it either but he’s so perfect.”
“I’m so proud of you.” He smiled kissing my forehead before going to meet his grandson. Lucas had passed Rowan off to my mom before coming over to me.
“You okay?” I nodded bringing my attention back to him.
“Yea I’m just tired.” I moved over curling up to his side.
“You should get some rest.”
“I’ll be okay. He’s going to need to be fed soon.”
“He’s so perfect.”
“I can’t agree more.”
“Don’t get me wrong I love all my nieces and nephew’s but holding him is out of this world.”
“It’s so crazy I barely know this tiny human but the love I have for him is something I never thought exist.”
“Kinsley, you are so amazing. I’ve never witnessed something so amazing.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you.” I smiled kissing his cheek. He smiled kissing my forehead. Mom turned her head and smiled at us.
“You look exhausted.”
“I am, but I can’t stop looking at him.”
“He is so cute, what is his name?”
“Fits him perfectly.”
“Alright Momma, you can have him back so he get some food and you can get some much-needed sleep.”
Finally, he was back curled up on my chest as he nursed.
“I love you so much, little man.” Lucas pulled him away once he was done so he could lay him down. I moved and got more comfortable, so I could also fall back asleep.
“Now you’ve finally had my nephew, I can finally get married,” Sawyer said.
“Sawyer.” I groaned. I know how excited she is to get married but I’m ready just yet to get in a dress. She smiled making funny faces at Rowan while he probably thought she was crazy.
“I can’t wait to see you all dressed up and you too little man.”
“I haven’t decided if I’m bringing him just yet?”
“What do you mean?”
“Sawyer I’m going to be with you ninety percent of the time. Plus, he’ll still be so little I don’t know if it’s a good idea for him to be around all those people.”
“Will you think about it some more?”
“Yes.” I sighed looking over at a sleeping Lucas. He’s had barely any sleep the last couple of days with working third shift and then having the baby.
“Gosh Kins, I can’t believe he’s finally here.”
“You’re telling me.” I smiled running my fingers across the back of his head. He cooed turning his head into my touch.
“You want to go back to mom huh.”
“Come here, baby.” I smiled taking him back into my arms.
“I should get going, let me know if you guys need anything.”
“I will, thanks for stopping by.”
“Of course. Love you two.”
“We love you. Row say bye to aunt Sawyer.” I waved his little hand as she walked out of the room. Lucas started to stir bringing my attention back to him.
“Little bit but I feel like it made me more exhausted.”
“Tomorrow when we go home you can sleep.” He nodded getting up so he could sit on the bed.
“Will you hold him, I need a shower.”
“Come here, little man.” Once he took him I went and got ready for a shower. A shower has never felt better than this one right now. After taking a quick shower I made my way back into the room. Tears filled my eyes as I looked at the man in front of me.
“Dom.” I sobbed.
