“Hey, can I ask you something?” I asked Caitlyn as I sat down against the counter.
“Sure, what’s up?” She smiled looking up at me.
“Are you okay with me not being with your brother?” She smiled nodding her head.
“Yes, and I know if this any were any other situation it would be different. My brother is happy and that’s all I want for him. You two have a pretty good thing going so we all get to see Rowan.”
“I just wanted to be sure. Unlike the rest of the family, you will be around me more.” She smiled squeezing my hand in reassurance.
“Maybe meeting Lucas was a blessing. I gained four sisters and a brother along with all the nieces and nephews. Most importantly I got my amazing little boy. Your whole family is so amazing and I’m forever grateful for everything they have done.”
“We take care of our own and you will always be family.” She came around the counter pulling me into her arms. Tears rolled down our faces as we held each other.
“What is going on here?” Blake’s voice pulled us apart. I turned to my brother and Dominic looking at us worried.
“Everything’s fine.” Caitlyn pulled away and went over to Blake while Dom came over to me. I smiled wrapping my arms around his waist.
“You okay?” I nodded looking up at him.
“Better now you’re here.” I smiled leaning up to kiss his cheek.
“I knew this day would come, but still,” Blake said making me look at him.
“Sorry, not sorry. Thank you, guys, for dinner but we should get going.”
“We will see you guys later. I want to see my nephew next time.” I nodded giving them both a hug before we headed back to the apartment.
I walked over and curled up with him on a couch. He smiled pulling me onto his lap wrapping his arms around my waist.
“So, what were you and Caitlyn talking about?”
“I just wanted to make sure she was okay with us being together. Out of all the sisters she’s going to be seeing us the most.”
“And is she?”
“Yea. Her brother is happy, and Rowan is happy and well taken care of.”
“You’re happy right?” I smiled leaning in pressing my lips to his kissing him softly.
“Yes. I couldn’t be happier.” He smiled flipping me over, so my back was pressed against the couch. His lips came crashing down on mine as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I moaned wrapping my legs around his waist pulling him to me.
“Kins.” He stopped pulling away pressing his forehead to mine.
“I want this you, but I don’t think you’re ready.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Kinsley, I love you. I know you love me as a best friend.” I nodded understanding what he was saying. Ever since I can remember Dom has always been there for me.
“Dominic Jackson I am in love with you.” I smiled while he looked me over and smiled.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for you to say that.”
“I’m so sorry.”
“For everything, I put you through.”
“I’m not going to lie it was rough. You were happy and that meant maybe that was how it was supposed to be.”
“This is how it’s supposed to be. It’s always been me and you. I was just too stupid to realize it.”
“I love you.” He wiped my tears away before crashing his lips back to mine. I moaned pulling him closer before he flipped me over, so I was straddling him.
“Hold on babe.” He smirked picking me up taking me to our room.
“You’re so beautiful.” I smiled as he laced our fingers together.
“Since having Rowan it’s been hard.” He frowned pulling me closer to him. Breastfeeding has helped keep the weight down but there’s still a little pudge.
“Don’t do that to yourself.”
“I try not too but you know I’ve always had problems with it.”
“I love you and I love your body.”
“You’re too good to me.”
“You’re my girl.” He smiled leaning down pressing his lips to mine. I smiled pulling him closer to me. The door burst open making us pull away and quickly pull the blanket on.
“What the hell?” Sawyer yelled making me groan.
“Sawyer get out.” I hissed hearing the door shut.
“It’s fine. Go deal with her.” I got up and quickly put some clothes on before going to the living room where Sawyer was pacing.
“There better be a damn good reason you burst in here.”
“Kinsley I’m pregnant.” She smiled, tears building up in her eyes. The anger subsided and I quickly pulled her into my arms.
“I’m so happy for you.” Tears filled my eyes as I held her close.
“I’m sorry for not calling, but I wanted to tell you. I was the first one to know with you.”
“Are you telling me your husband doesn’t know?”
“Sawyer go home and tell your husband right now.” I smiled pushing her towards the door.
“I am, but I need an update on what’s going on with you.”
“Go talk to Austin first. We will talk another time.” I pushed her out the door before going to curl back up with Dominic. He rolled over pulling me back into his arms.
“What was that?”
“My stupid sister wanted me to be the first one to know she was pregnant. She figured out I was pregnant before I did.”
“She is something else. Let’s get some sleep, little man will be here tomorrow.” I smiled leaning up to peck his lips. Sighing I curled up and fell right to sleep.
“Babe wake up.”
“Go away.” I pushed his arm away before rolling over.
“Come on Kins, I made your favorite breakfast.”
“Fine.” I rolled over finding him on wearing pajama bottoms. He smirked leaning in for a kiss before running back to the kitchen.
“Come on momma, little man will be here soon.” He yelled as I chased after him. On the counter, he had my favorite pancakes waiting for me.
“I just had to have sex with you to get you to make breakfast,” I smirked at him as I shoved a pancake in my mouth.
“I mean it did help.” He smirked before coming over to wrap his arms around me. I turned pressing his lips to his kissing him softly.
“Thank you for breakfast.”
“Of course. I just want to make sure my girl is taken care of.” My heart melted hearing him say that. In a way, I was always his girl even when I didn’t realize it.
I finished eating before going to curl up with on the couch. He kissed my forehead holding me close as he put on some random movie.
A knock on the door pulled us apart. I pulled away and answered the door. Lucas was standing there with a bouncing Rowan.
“Hi baby, come here I missed you.” I pulled him into my arms giving him kisses.
“He missed his momma.”
“Was he okay though?”
“The first night was a little rough, he wasn’t feeling too good.”
“Momma.” I smiled turning my attention back to him.
“Yea baby. Momma’s got you.”
“I have to get going to work. Soon though we need to figure out the holidays and everything.”
“Yea, um just send me your schedule and I’ll let you know.”
“Sounds good. Bye buddy, I love you.”
“Say, bye daddy.” He waved and we said goodbye before going to curl back up on the couch.
