Three years later...
“Are you sure you ready for this?” Blake smiled over video chat.
“Blake I’ve been wanting to ask your sister to marry me for years. It’s long overdue. She finally graduated school and Rowan is doing awesome.”
“I’m happy for you. I wish I was there for the big moment.”
“Me too. But you know you will be my best man when I get married.”
“Got that right.”
“Speaking of getting married. How are you and Cait?” He sighed rubbing his hands down his face.
“I don’t know man. She wants kids and to get married. With me being gone all the time I don’t think it's fair to her.”
“Don’t keep stringing her on if that’s not what you want.”
“I know it's hard. I love her and I don’t want to lose her.”
“I get it but you have to do what's best for both of you.”
“You’re right. I got to get going I’ll talk to you later. Good luck.”
“Thanks, man.” I smiled hanging up before going to finish working on the apartment. Rowan is staying another night with Lucas so we get the apartment all to ourselves. Kinsley is at the hospital for another couple of hours giving me time to finish setting up for tonight.
I looked at my watch realizing Kinsley will be home any minute now. After everything I’ve been through this has to be one of the scariest moments of my life. Everything was set up perfectly. A candlelight dinner with twinkling lights in the background.
“Babe.” She gasped looking around the room.
“Welcome home.” I smiled watching her take in everything. She’s been working crazy hours and I know she's tired.
“I made us dinner.”
“You didn’t have to do that.”
“You deserve it, Kinsley. Let’s go eat.” She nodded walking over wrapping her arms around me. I smiled leaning down kissing her.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” She sighed in content pulling away.
“How was your day?” I asked as we sat down.
“Not too bad for once. So what’s with all of this.”
“I just wanted to do something special for you. You’ve been working hard and taking care of Rowan.”
“I appreciate it. Dom are you okay, you haven’t touched your food.” I nodded wiping my hands down my pants.
“Dom.” She gasped as I moved and got down on one knee.
“Kinsley I’ve loved you since the moment I saw you. I’ve watched you go through hell only to turn you into the amazing woman you are now. You’re an amazing mom, nurse and I know you will be an awesome wife. Kinsley, I love you, will you marry me.” she nodded tears pouring down her face.
“Yes!” she sobbed as I stood up pressing my lips to hers. I wrapped my arms around her setting her on the counter.
“I never thought this day would come. You were always right there but I never would have guessed I would be marrying you. Everyone used to tease us but I never believe it.”
“Well believe it baby, your mine for the rest of your life.” She smiled leaning in pressing her lips to mine.
“I guess that means we're getting married pretty quick or wait till next year.” She smirked making me frown not understanding what she was getting at.
“I’ll marry you tomorrow if I could.”
“Not yet, but I have to tell you something. I was going to do something different but this feels right.”
“Kinsley,” I said nervously.
“Dominic Jackson, you are going to be a daddy.” It was my turn to gasp. I looked down at her flat belly before looking up at her beautiful face.
“This is perfect.” I kissed her before pressing my face against her belly.
“I know you probably can't hear me but I’m your daddy. I already love you so much.” Kinsley pulled my face back up to hers crashing her lips into mine.
“I need you.”
“It's safe right.” She nodded wrapping my arms around my neck pulling me closer. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her into my arms taking her to our room. This girl deserves the world and I’m going to try and give it to her.
“Dom I need you.” She moaned as I kissed down her neck.
I woke up curled up to Dom’s side. My hand rested against his chest giving me a chance to look at my ring. It’s simple and fits me perfectly.
“You like it right?” Dom asked making me turn towards him.
“I love it. You couldn’t have picked out a better ring.”
“Who’s the first person you want to tell?”
“Rowan then my parents.”
“Think he will be excited?”
“Yea he’s been pretty good with Stef being pregnant. He’s always around kids so I think he will be okay.” Lucas and Stef got married last year and now their expecting twins. Thankfully I got lucky and only got one baby from him. I would have loved having twins but it would have been worse on them.
“I can’t believe were going to have a baby.” He sighed in content resting his hand against my belly.
“Icing on the cake. You're going to be an amazing daddy.” I leaned up pressing my lips to his kissing him softly.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” I gave him another kiss before getting up. I pulled on some clothes before going into the kitchen to make us breakfast.
“Why don’t you take a shower and I’ll make us breakfast?”
“You don’t have to.”
“I do. You need a shower.” He smirked kissing me before pushing me towards the bathroom. He was right I desperately needed a shower too. After a long day at work and a long night in the sheets, a shower is needed.
After a much-needed shower and some food, we left to go pick up Rowan. With Stef being so far along we decided it would be better if we could bring Rowan a little more.
“Momma,” Rowan yelled running into my arms. I sighed holding his little body close to me.
“Hi buddy, did you have fun with daddy and momma Stef?”
“Yea the babies moved.”
“That’s so cool go get your stuff.” I let him go following him in the living room where Stef was trying to pick up some toys.
“Shouldn’t you be resting?” I smirked making her turn around and smile.
“I can’t help it. It's driving me crazy not to be able to do much.”
“You got two babies in there.”
“Hopefully not too much longer.” She smiled rubbing her hand against her bulging belly making me do the same.
“Kinsley is that a ring on your finger?” she gasped reaching for my hand.
“Sure is, we just got engaged last night.”
“It’s about time!”
“I know I still can’t believe it but I’ve never been happier.” Rowan came back with Lucas and Dom following him with all of his time.
“Congratulations guys. I’m so happy for you.”
“Thanks.” I hugged Lucas before turning back to Rowan.
“Kinsley I need to talk to you for a minute.” I nodded and followed him into the kitchen so we could talk.
“How was Row?”
“Good as always. I’m trying to keep her stress level down. It’s about Caitlyn and I think you should know.”
“What’s wrong, is she okay?” I frowned looking him over.
“I don’t know if you know this but Blake doesn’t want kids.”
“She’s pregnant isn’t she?” He nodded looking mixed with emotion.
