Chapter 5

“So, you ready for tonight?” Sawyer asked. I nodded taking a bite of my muffin. Tonight, we were having a little get together for Blake.

“I just wish he didn’t have to leave right now?”

“Me too. Have you thought about going with Dom anymore?” I shook my head, sighing.

“I don’t think I want to. He’s not really going to be there, and I have work.”

“You’re staying with mom, right?”

“Yea.”

“And with Dom?” I sighed looking away. Dom has been staying with me since the first night he was back.

“He just makes me feel safe. Plus, I’ve missed him.”

“Then why don’t you want to go with him.”

“Sawyer, can we please stop talking about it?” I groaned while she nodded looking at me worried. As much as I want to go with Dom, I don’t think it’s a good idea. He’s not really going to be there, and I would feel better if I had someone close to me.

(Dominic’s pov)

“Please don’t walk around like a lost puppy,” Blake said handing me a drink.

“I’ll try.” I smiled taking a sip of my beer.

“I know you already will but keep an eye on my baby sister.”

“Of course, I will.” I smiled, walking out the back door. Kinsley was over in the corner with her sister and some of the girls. Instead of walking over to her I headed over to the guys.

“Jackson, what’s up?” Miller smiled as I walked over to him.

“Not much, wishing I was going with you.”

“Yea can’t believe you’re not going, it almost doesn’t seem right.”

“Who knows maybe they will come through while your there.” He nodded looking over to the girls that were laughing.

“I guess that’s another reason to stay home.” He smirked looking at Kinsley.

“With everything going on I don’t want to leave.”

“I understand but make sure she breathes a little too.”

“I’m trying but it’s hard.”

“What are you two ladies talking about?” Blake came over wrapping his arms around our shoulders. I smiled taking a sip of my beer.

“Are you ready to go?”

“Yes and no. I don’t think it’s really hit me yet.”

“Well get your shit together man, your leaving in a couple of days.”

“I know, it’s just bad timing.”

“What else is new?” I nodded looking back over at Kinsley to make sure she was okay. She, of course, was nowhere in sight and either was Sawyer.

“Where did your sisters go?” I asked Blake.

“Probably get another drink, calm down.” I nodded watching as she walked back out with Sawyer. She looked beautiful and she wasn’t even trying.

“Kins, come here,” Miller yelled to her. She looked up and smiled before making her way over to us. He quickly pulled her into his arms making her smile.

“How’s my favorite girl?” She smiled up at him giving him a hug.

“Good, I’m so glad you’re going so I know you will keep my brother in line.”

“Hey what about me?” I teased. She looked at me and smiled.

“You're going to be the idiot agreeing with his dumb ideas.” She smirked looking between all three of us. I reached for her pulling her to my side.

“I thought I was your favorite.” I pouted.

“You're still my best friend.” She smiled, leaning up to kiss my cheek before heading back to the girls. I turned back looking at the guys who were smirking.

“One day I’ll marry that girl, she just doesn’t know it yet.” I smiled taking a sip of my beer.

“Dom your drunk.” She slurred before taking another shot.

“So are you!” I smiled taking another shot. She turned to me giving me an evil grin.

“What?” She smiled making butterflies erupt.

“I’m just happy.”

“Me too, I’ve missed you Kins.” I sighed pulling her into my arms where she curled up. I leaned down kissing her forehead making her sigh. Blake looked over and smiled at us while I pulled her closer.

“Will you stay with me tonight? I haven’t been sleeping that good.”

“Of course. Want to talk about it?” She shook her head pulling away, so she could take another shot. I grabbed the bottle from her and set it back down.

“Probably not a good idea.”

“Dom.” She groaned.

“You’ll thank me later.”

“Fine, I’m going to dance.” She pulled away and went over to her brother. He was over there dancing with some girl I didn’t recognize. Sighing I walked over pulling her back into my arms.

“Hey, I’m Dom.”

“Hi. I’m Caitlyn!” she smiled before turning back to Blake.

“You ready to go to bed?” I whispered in her ear after a couple of songs. She nodded pulling away but taking my hand as we walked back into the house. I helped her up the stairs as she stumbled the whole way up.

“Thank you.”

“You know I would do anything for you.” She smiled as she curled into me.

“I don’t deserve you.” I sighed leaning down to kiss her forehead. She leaned up pressing her lips to mine kissing me softly before pushing her face into my neck.

“Kins,” I whispered only to be answered by her snores. I smiled pulling her closer as she snuggled into me. I doubt she will remember that kiss but maybe she will.

Waking up I had a massive headache and arms wrapped tight around me. I opened my eyes finding Kinsley was still asleep.

“Go back to sleep baby.” She whispered, rolling over pulling me with her. I smiled kissing her shoulder and falling back to sleep.

This time waking up Kinsley was gone. Sighing I got up and went downstairs to the kitchen. Kinsley was sitting at the counter with Sawyer and another girl I didn’t recognize.

“Morning,” I said walking over to the available seat.

“Morning.” All three of them smiled.

“Dom this is Caitlyn Underwood. Cait this is Blake’s best friend Dominic.”

“I think we met last night.”

“Probably. So, do you have any sisters?” I looked up at Kinsley, but she, of course, didn’t seem fazed by the question.

“I do have three older sisters, but they are married.”

“It’s okay, I’ll already got my eye on someone.” I smiled, trying not to look at Kinsley or Sawyer.
