Chapter 11

“Mommy, you don’t look good.”

“Mommy doesn’t feel good baby.” She frowned and came over pushing the hair out of my face, kissing my forehead.

“Thanks, baby.”

“Do you want anything?”

“Just cuddles with you.” I smiled, as she curled up to me so we could watch a movie.

After a couple of minutes, I pushed her away and went to the bathroom to get sick. She came in and pushed the hairs away and rubbed my back.

“Its okay momma, just breathe.” She told me the same thing I always tell her when she is sick. She grabbed her cup and filled it with water handing it to me.

“Thank you, baby.” I cleaned myself up and we went back into the living room.

“Better.”

“A little bit.”

“Soup.”

“I will make it in a little bit.” She nodded, wrapping her arms around my waist, hugging me.

“Love you, mommy.”

“Love you too Sophia Shae.” I kissed her forehead then the doorbell went off and she let me go.

“Faith!” I smiled as my best friend wrapped her arms around me.

“McKenna, you look terrible.”

“Mommy doesn’t feel good.” Faith pulled away from me and looked down at my daughter who had her arms around my leg.

“Look at you munchkin, getting so big.”

“Sophia, this is Faith.”

“Hi, gosh your so cute and look just like your momma. How old are you?” Sophia showed her three fingers and I smiled at her.

“She’s going to be four next week.”

“Oh wow. What do you say munchkin, want to help me make some soup for your momma?” I looked down finding her nodding her head. I was miserable when she was sick and she was miserable when I was sick.

“Thank you.” They went into the kitchen while I went into the living room to watch my movie. Rickey had texted me asking if he could come to get her and I agreed.

“Sophia, your dad is coming to get you in a little bit.”

“No.” She came running in, placing her head against my chest. Her little arms wrapping around me trying to hold me, making my boobs hurt.

“I thought you wanted to see daddy.” I frowned.

“I don’t want to leave you.” Awe my sweet girl.

“Baby, I will see you tonight. Faith and I are going to hang out.”

“But I want to take care of you.” She sure did melt my heart when she was like this.

“I’m a big girl I will be okay. You can take care of me when you get back okay.”

“Can I stay with you tonight?”

“Sure baby.” Faith, came in just as there was a knock on the door.

“Daddy.” She smiled, hugging him.

“There’s my baby girl.”

“Mommy doesn’t feel good.”

“Awe I’m sure you were taking good care of her.”

“I was.”

“Come on let’s go make something that will make mommy feel much better.”

“Back by eight Rickey.”

“Yes, ma’am.” I kissed Sophia's forehead and hugged her.

“Love you, have fun with daddy.”

“Love you, momma.” Rickey scooped her up and they left. Faith sat down and looked at me curiously.

“What?”

“He looks good.” She smirked.

“Faith.” I groaned.

“So what is going on with you?”

“Nothing much.”

“You still with that one guy?”

“No, we’re taking a break.”

“There is something about you that is off.”

“What are you talking about?” She looked me over trying to figure it out.

“You’re pregnant.” I spit the soup out and chocked while she helped me.

“No.”

“Oh come on, you said you were sick. I saw your face when she hit your chest, your boobs are tender.” She moved my shirt finding my belly had rounded a tiny bit. I gasped placing my hand over my belly.

“I drank, what if I hurt the baby?”

“Let’s go get you checked out.”

“I can’t do this Faith not again.” I cried.

“Everything is going to be fine.”

We went to the hospital and I got everything all checked out. This morning I didn’t even think about having another baby. But now there was a baby in my belly. I hope Colin will help me with this. I need his support with all of this.

“When are you going to tell Colin?”

“Tomorrow, I need to wrap this around my head first.”

“Sophia is going to be so excited.”

“Do not tell her, I want to wait.”

“Fine.” The door opened and I quickly hid the ultrasound so they couldn’t see it.

“Momma, we got you flowers and I made you this.” I smiled taking the card from her.

“Awe thank you. Did you have a good time with daddy?”

“Yea.”

“Go give daddy his hugs, so we can go to bed.”

“Love you, daddy.”

“Love you too princess. Take good care of your mom.”

“I will.”

“Thanks for this.” I smiled at Rickey.

“You feel any better.”

“Not really, but I will be okay.”

“Just let me know if you need me to take her or anything.”

“Thanks, Rickey.” He left and I got Sophia ready for bed.

“I’m going to go, call me tomorrow okay.” Faith said.

“Okay.” I gave her a hug then finished up with Sophia before going to my room.

“So I have to tell you something?” We curled up on my bed.

“What?”

“It’s a big secret, you can’t tell anyone.” I smiled at her.

“Not even nana?” She gasped.

“Not yet, princess, no one gets to know yet.”

“Besides me?” I smiled as she perked up.

“Yep, can you keep a secret?”

“Yes.”

“Mommy is having a baby.”

“I get to be a big sister?”

“Yes, you get to be a big sister.” I smiled as I watched her nervously.

“Soph.” She smiled, hugging me tightly.

“Careful my chest is tender.”

“Why?”

“Just getting ready for the baby.” I kissed her forehead and moved the blanket so we could place our hands on my belly.

“Your little brother or sister is in there.”

“Sister.”

“Think so.” She nodded, kissing my belly making me smile.

“Let’s go to sleep it’s going to be a long day tomorrow.” She nodded and we curled up going to sleep.

“Remember no telling anyone.”

“Okay.”

“Love you have fun with nana.”

“Love you too momma.” She ran off when my mom came in.

“You sure you can’t stay?”

“I have to go talk to Colin. I will be back as soon as I can.”

“You okay?”

“Just nervous to talk to him.”

“You will be fine.”

“Hope so, I will be back soon.” She kissed my cheek and I quickly left to go back to the apartment where Colin is going to meet me. I cleaned up the best I could before I heard him knock on the door. I opened the door finding him looking amazing as always.

“Hi.”

“Hey.” I smiled.

“Um come in.”

“Sophia here?”

“No, she’s with my mom. I needed to talk to you.”

“About?” He frowned.

“The last time I had this conversation it didn’t go well at all,” I whispered nervously.

“McKenna.”

“I’m pregnant Colin.”

“Is it mine?”

“Of course, I haven’t had sex with anyone else since Sophia was conceived.”

“When did you find out?”

“Last night, Faith took me to the hospital and everything is fine.”

“Wait hospital?” He gasped.

“I was scared something was wrong, but the baby is perfectly fine.” I moved, grabbing the ultrasound so I could show him.

“That’s our baby?”

“Yea that’s our baby.” I smiled as I watched him look at the baby in awe. He was going to be an amazing daddy to our baby. He kept the picture in his hand while he turned and look at my belly.

“There’s a baby in there?”

“Sure is.” I took his hand, placing it on my tiny bump that decided to show a better appearance this morning.

“Wow.”

“Yea.” He smiled, pulling me into his arms but kept our hands over the baby.

“How are you feeling?”

“I’m tired and a little achy but I’ll be fine.”

“Do you need anything?”

“Just you. I don’t want to go through this alone again. I know we’re on a break, but I want it to be over. I miss you so much.”

“I miss you too. You will not be alone in this. I want to be there for you and the baby.”

“Thank you.”

“Does Sophia know?”

“Yea she’s excited, but I’m sure she’s going to have some questions.”

“I want to go through this together, me, you, Soph, and little one.”

“Me too, she already thinks it’s a girl.”

“What about you?”

“Don’t know yet.” He smiled, kissing my forehead as I sighed against him.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“Hey little one, your mommy and daddy love you.”

***

“Mommy, can I tell Nana now?” She pleaded.

“Tell me what?” Mom looked between me and Sophia.

“Sophia, what did I tell you?”

“Sorry, momma.”

“Tell me now.” I pulled Sophia close kissing her cheek before looking at my mom.

“I’m going to be a mom again.”

“Mommy is having a baby.”

“Really?” She smiled.

“Yea I’m eight weeks.” She gasped looking between us.

“Sophia, you’re going to be a big sister!” She squealed and turned around hugging my belly against her face.

“How are you feeling?”

“Tired, a little achy.”

“Have you told...?”

“Yes I told Colin and he is on board with everything.”

“Good, I’m glad.” Mom smiled looking me over.
