Chapter 25

“Hey.” He looked down at me and frowned. I pulled myself out of the water and dried off before going with him. We went downstairs and I sat on the ground.

“Tell me what happened?”

“I remember when you told me about your mom, so I thought she was the best person to talk to. Anyways, I think I’m going to give my mom a chance, but you said Sophia will not be around her. There are still so many questions I have, and this is my chance. ”

“You’re scared?” He nodded.

“Yea, what if she leaves again? I don’t want Sophia to get to know her then have her walk out.”

“That’s why we will keep Sophia from her. If she walks out again then that is it.”

“You're right.”

“I’m always right.” I smiled as he pulled me into his arms hugging me. He leaned down, pressing his lips mine kissing me softly as I pulled him closer.

“Come on, let’s go outside.” He pulled me and we went upstairs and back outside. I set my towel down and he took his shirt off.

“Like what you see?” I turned to look him over.

“Whatever.” He smirked as I walked over and sat down on the edge of the pool.

“Mommy I’m hungry.” Sophia looked at me.

“Food will be ready soon.”

“Can I have a snack?”

“You have to ask nana.” She swam over to me and I helped her out.

“Hey dry off.” Rickey caught her and dried her off before she went inside. I smiled at him as he came and sat next to me by the pool. He got in then pulled me in with him.

“Dinner is almost ready.” I heard my dad yell as he came outside with all the bags.

“Hey, baby girl.” I got Ellie from Gavin and got out of the pool.

“You hungry?” She nodded. I wrapped her towel around her and took my towel so I could cover myself up while I nursed her. I sat at the table while Sean came over with Sutton.

“Looks like someone already starting eating,” Sophia told my dad. Dad looked over at us and we just smiled.

“They don’t count.”

“When are you going to stop breastfeeding?” Sean asked.

“Soon. I’m just not ready to give up that bonding time with her.”

“Gavin come help me carry the food out,” Mom yelled.

Gavin and Rickey got out helping her while Elliot got Sydney out to dry her off. Sophia came and sat next to me.

“We eat now.”

“In a couple of minutes.”

“I want juice.”

“Daddy will get it for you when he comes back out. ” She nodded and Rickey came out carrying a cooler of drinks.

“Daddy, will you get me a juice?”

“Sure, babe want anything?”

“Lemonade.” He handed us our drinks before sitting on the other side of me.

“Gavin, you sure your girl couldn’t come?” I asked him again.

“Yea, why?”

“I want to meet her.”

“In due time.” I sighed and moved the towel to check on Ellie.

“Love you.” I kissed her forehead before looking back at Sophia who was looking at Sydney making faces. Mom came out and sat across me smiling at me.

“I’m just happy that you are here and are smiling. My baby girl is happy, so I am happy.”

“I couldn’t have done it without you guys.” Rickey leaned over, kissing my cheek and I smiled at him.

“The food is finally already.”

My dad said and everyone got their food. Rickey handed me my food then helped Sophia with hers. He is such an amazing daddy to Soph, and I love it when he helps with Ellie. I’m glad she will have him in her life when she ever needs a father figure. I don’t know where things are going to go for Rickey and I, but I know he is always going to be there for my girls. We finished up eating and took Ellie and Sutton up for a bath before putting them to bed. Tonight all of us kids were staying at my parents.

“Let’s play chicken.”

“Hey we need another girl, so I think you should call your girlfriend.”

“McKenna.” Gavin groaned. I got back in the pool and swam over to Rickey wrapping myself around him.

“Ellie asleep?”

“Yep, and I’m sure Soph will be asleep soon.” He leaned down pecking my lips before he went underwater and put me on his shoulders. I looked over and saw Sean who was on Elliot’s shoulders.

“Momma vs. momma.”

“You’re going down, little sis,” Sean smirked.

“No, I think it’s you who will be going down.”

The boy’s moved us closer and we grabbed onto each other’s arms pushing each other.

“You can do it, mommy.”

“Yea momma.” Both girls yelled as we continued to push each other. Finally, I got a good shove in and Elliot slipped making them fall in.

“We won!” I leaned down kissing Rickey on the lips before they came back up.

“Mommy my turn,” Sophia yelled.

“Baby you are too little.” I heard the doorbell go off as Rickey pulled me off his shoulders. Gavin quickly got out of the pool and grabbed a towel before running to get the door. Sophia jumped in and swam right over to me and I pulled her closer.

“You tired?”

“You know we are staying here tonight?”

“You too?”

“Yes all of us.” I smiled kissing her cheek.

“Sophia and Sydney, what do you say about bath time?” Mom asked the girls.

“It’s okay.”

I looked over and saw Gavin with a girl next to him.

“Is this her?” I asked him.

“Yes, this is Kylie. Kylie this is my sister McKenna, her boyfriend Rickey, and their daughter Sophia. That’s my brother Elliot, sister in law Sean, and their daughter Sydney. My other two nieces are upstairs. As you already know, my mom Sophie and my dad Nathan.”

“Hi, it’s nice to meet all of you.” She smiled.

“She’s cute, I like her.” I smiled at them and they smiled back at me. We all splashed around a little longer and dried off before going into the house. I took Sophia upstairs and we took a shower together real quick so Rickey could get in.

“You tired?”

“Of course.” I brought her downstairs with me and she curled up on my chest. Rickey finally came down and I leaned against him, while Sophia fell asleep against me.

“I’m so happy, I have all my babies here. ” Mom smiled.

“So you two official or what?” Elliot looked at me and I just glared at him.

“We are not official. I’m just not ready for that.”

“She’s still going to get married next.”

“Nope, not for me.”

“Looks like it’s up to Gavin and to have a boy.”

“We’ll see.” I heard Kylie start coughing, probably in shock of what we were talking about. We all talked for a little longer before heading up to bed. I laid Sophia down before going back to lay with Rickey.

“You don’t want to get married?” Rickey asked.

“As of right now, I don’t know.” He nodded, kissing my forehead before falling asleep.
