Chapter 43: Push & Pull

Luna’s POV:

“Don’t ever do that again....and I will NEVER, sleep with you again,” I responded coldly to him as I was distancing myself away from him. He then gave a small chuckle as he continued to look at me with those obsessive eyes of his. So I tried my best to avoid his stare by looking at the waitress who was bringing our meal. There was something strange about her this time though. She didn’t have her hair up anymore, it was let down and parted to the side. She wasn’t wearing any lipstick before, was she? Also, what’s with her blouse? She has so many buttons unbutton that her breasts and cleavage were on full display. Is she trying to put the moves on Eli? If so.......

“Here’s your burger and fries, along with your drinks.” The waitress voiced out as she purposely leaned herself close to Elijah. I wasn’t expecting Eli to say much to her, however, I was proven wrong when Eli leaned himself closer to her as well. They both then started to exchange a quiet conversation between one another. I wasn’t able to hear what they were saying so all I could do was just sit there like I’m some kind of child. Taking a drink from my water I locked my eyes to the young woman who was staring at me with a smug look on her face. She was still having a deep conversation with Eli until she finally gave Elijah a flirtatious smirk as she pulled away from him. I wonder what they were talking about? Elijah then began to eat his food with such a bore look as he kept looking at the clock. Was he in a rush or something? Does he have plans with that girl maybe?

“What did that girl want?” I don’t know what made me want to ask him? I really shouldn’t care actually but for some strange reason, I just wanted to know...

“Is my little Luna jealous,” Elijah asked me with a smile on his face. As he took the last bite of his burger.

“No! I don’t care, I just....want to know the reason for you bringing me here.” I responded as I grabbed my lower belly. Yet once I did that, I heard Eli flick his tongue with anger. He then stood up and looked at me with coldness in his eyes.

“Tell me the truth, are you really pregnant with that f*ckers kid?!” He voiced out with rage in his tone as he approached me. I was completely caught off guard by his sudden question that I didn’t know how to respond...

“It’s....it’s none of your business if-” he then swiftly grabbed the back of my hair and tugged it tightly to where I couldn’t move my head anymore. I was then forced to look up at him, and the absolute terror I felt couldn’t be put into words as I saw death running through his eyes.

“Are. You. Fucking. Pregnant.” He asked again with a stern voice as he inched himself closer to my face. I would be lying if I said I was afraid, but the last thing I’ll do is lie to myself. Ren.....I wish you were here. Taking a deep breath in, I prepared myself for what I had to say as I slowly stood myself up.

“Yes,” I responded as I forced myself to look at Eli. It didn’t matter if I was pregnant or not, I wanted to let him know that I’m moving forward with my life. An that I don’t want him anywhere in my future.

Elijah then calmly let my hair go and took a few steps back. He held his stare at me and never averted until he ran his fingers through his hair. Not too long after he started to laugh as if someone made some stupid joke. He’s absolutely crazy! Just what happened to him, it’s like he’s not even him anymore. He’s nothing like the old Elijah I once loved.....

“I’m tired of these sick games your playing, tell me right now! Where is Ren!” I shouted at him with annoyance as I shoved Elijah further away from me. Yet Eli didn’t respond, all he continued to do was laugh underneath his breath as he tilted his head back.

“Your a brave little bunny rabbit, Luna.”

“Stop calling me that! I’m not a fuck*ng animal!” I spoke loudly enough for him to hear. I then picked up my glass of water and splashed him with it as I stood there in anger. I won’t regret anything, I won’t let him get the best of me. Elijah stopped what he was doing and grabbed my empty glass from my hand.

“Be a good girl, and wait here until I come back.” He said to me as he inched himself closer to me. I could feel the wet droplets leaving his face as they fell down on my neck. He then pulled away from me and began to walk away from me.

“What makes you think I’ll wait for you!?” I responded as I followed him behind. He then suddenly turned himself around and placed his hand on my stomach. An brought his face closer to my ear.

“Because if you don’t, you’ll lose two very important things in your life.” He explained In such a low threat that I felt a cold chill pass through my body. How can he say something so evil and so inhuman! I stood there in shock and I could feel myself growing pale with every second as I looked at Eli with horror in my eyes. But Eli had no reaction in his eyes other than coldness...

He then placed both hands on my shoulder and set me down on a seat. He then walked away without turning back to look at me, so I looked to where he was heading towards and noticed the young women from earlier standing by the door. She stood there with a short skirt and a thin crop top, it looks like she was done working for the night. I guessed they both planned on going somewhere together? Because Elijah then grabbed her from the lower waist and they both walked out together, but before he closed the door he turned his head towards me and gave me a dangerous look with a smile on his face. He then opened his mouth and whispered something out. I wasn’t able to hear him but if I read his lips right, I think he said...

‘Stay Put.’

Does he think I’m some f*cking dog? Am I really gonna just sit here and wait for him to come back from whatever he’s gonna do with that girl?! I could give two sh*t’s what he wants to do with anyone, but he can least tell me when he’s coming back. I have no cell phone with me and no ride to get back home to, in fact now that he’s gone I should be getting help from the people here! So I quickly got up and rushed to the cashier where a young man was standing by. He looked very young to be working here but that’s not what was important, I needed to get out of here now that I have the chance. But what do I say?

‘Hey, that guy is my ex and he threaten to kill my boyfriend and my unborn child.’

Who’s gonna believe me? Not only that, but I have no idea where Eli lives nor do I know where he’s gone off to?! It still surprises me on how much he’s changed, I don’t see any resemblances of the old Elijah I once knew, it’s like he’s a completely different person now. Just what the hell happened to him?! He seems so cold with the way he talks to me now...I really shouldn’t care anymore about him. But I can’t help myself from wanting to know why he left me all alone years ago.

“Yes, may I help you with something?” The young boy asked as he stood there confused. I then read the tag on his shirt that said, Jackson.

“Uhh, who was that girl that just left a minute ago?” I don’t know why I decided to ask that, but I can’t bring myself to ask him for help. I can’t bring this innocent guy into my problems.

“Oh, that was my f*cking ex. I broke up with her a week ago because I found out she was sleeping around with some other guy. Why? Is the guy that just left with her your boyfriend?”

“What!? No, no way in hell. I would never date that assh*le again!” I responded to him as I looked at the clock. I was starting to get really exhausted and sleepy. But I can’t rest yet until I’m with Ren again, I just want to see him and tell him how much I love him.

“Oh, did he cheat on you to then?” The guy asked me as he began to tidy up his area.

“It was a long time ago....we were kids and we didn’t know what we were doing back then,” I responded to him as I turned myself around. He cheated on me, he lied to me and he left me. I wasted so many years liking him, and I wasted my virginity on him as well. I wish I could go back in time and just tell myself to stop. Ugh! It’s too late to regret it now, all I could do is try and get away from this guy. The first thing I’ll do is try and get a cab from around here! So I left the restaurant and started to look around for a taxi that was nearby, but there were no cabs in sight. The only vehicle I saw was Eli’s car that was still parked by the building. He was still here!? But where was he? I know he told me to stay where I was that, but after he threatens to kill my loved ones. The last thing I’ma do is wait for him to come back.

He’s a complete psycho, I mean who comes back to someone’s life after 6 years of being gone. Only to have them hurt you, sexually harass you, and threatening to kill your family practically! I have to stay far away as possible if I want to protect my baby and Ren.

Ren......I need to know what happened to him, but the only way to find out is by asking Eli. But I don’t know if I could face him right now, his words still echo through my ears as I replay back what he said. Will, he hurt the people I care about? I then suddenly heard something loud shatter!

The breaking of glass could be heard coming from a back alley behind the restaurant. I wasn’t sure what it was but I had this sick feeling in my stomach that it had something to do with Eli. Because if I remember correctly, Elijah did take my empty glass cup for no reason. So what could he possibly need it for? Without even thinking, I rushed down the cold dark alley street. Getting a clear reminder of what Elijah told me earlier, I won’t let what he said frighten me. I won’t let him hurt anyone, and I will never let him hurt me again. I’ll protect what I love, Eli may have changed. But I want to believe that deep down, the old Elijah I once loved dearly is still there somewhere...

As I approached the corner, I slowed myself down and came to a complete halt. The sound of movements and footsteps could be heard coming from the other side of the wall. So I slowed down my breathing and inched my head over and turned to see who it was on the other side. My heart was beating at a ridiculous rate as I prepared myself. But there was nothing in this world that could prepare me for what I was seeing! There was nothing that could take back what I saw!
