Chapter- 11 The Wedding

Third Person POV
Ethan couldn’t stop himself from getting out of the car and opening the door for Arabella. Arabella smiled and thanked him softly. Getting in after her, Ethan asked his driver to drive them to the venue. Arabella was looking out and a smile was on her lips, Ethan took the opportunity to feast his eyes and drink in her beauty. He had the urge to hold her hand and frowned at his thoughts...seriously what have you done to me Ari...Ari; he wanted to call her by that name.
Ethan cleared his throat and Arabella turned towards him...
“You look beautiful in this dress” he said and Arabella blushed and said a thank you...
“It’s a gift...” Ethan smiled preparing to tell her that he is glad she liked it but Arabella continued...
“Victor sent me this as a gift” She didn’t miss the sudden frown on Ethan’s face...
“Victor??” He asked confused...
“Umm...Victor Edwards from our finance department” of course Ethan understood who she was referring to, what he didn’t understand was why Arabella thought the dress was a gift from him?
Arabella was still so excited that she couldn’t stop herself from telling Ethan about how she got it...
“Yesterday I got a delivery at my place of this dress and these heals...I wasn’t sure who sent them and just then Victor called me and asked if I liked everything. It was a pleasant surprise.” Ethan was still baffled and couldn’t stop himself from asking...
“He told you that he sent those?” And Arabella blushed even more and just nodded in confirmation. Ethan didn’t miss the sparkle in her eyes when she spoke about Victor...
“He is my best friend’s brother “Ethan shook his head and turned to look out. He wanted to break it to Arabella that Victor is a liar but her smile and the happiness in her eyes stopped him from doing so. He could clearly see Arabella’s feelings for Victor. He felt a pang in his chest and wondered why is he feeling such pain...it is not like I love her...he tried to talk to himself only for his inner self to scoff...keep lying to yourself.
Ethan was not an immature teen to behave like a heartbroken person, for him right now it was more important to find out about Victor... why did he lie to Arabella? He wondered and most importantly how did he know about the gifts Ethan sent. Ethan was sure no one knows about this. All the questions swimming in his mind came to halt when he felt a soft touch on his hand and turned to look at Arabella. She had a hesitant smile on her face...
“I am sorry Mr. Ethan...I called you twice but you didn’t respond...we are here...” Ethan blinked and looked outside, they had reached the venue. He cleared his throat and asked Arabella to wait; she looked at him confused while he got outside the car and made his way towards her. He was a gentleman, no matter how rude he seemed. Whenever he took Lillian as a plus one he would always give her utmost respect and treat her well. Today it is Arabella, his Ari. How can he miss this chance?
Ethan opened the door for Arabella and gave her his hand; she thanked him and took his hand. Ethan’s hand held warmth unknown and new to Arabella. But she ignored those feelings as she was eager to have Victor’s eyes on herself. Oblivious to the eyes that were looking at her with so much love and affection.

Arabella stayed by Ethan’s side for almost the whole time. She met some of her colleagues and everyone complimented her and loved her dress. Each time someone would tell her how beautiful the dress looked on her she would blush. Ethan didn’t miss the way she was stealing glances at Victor, he felt like confronting the man but each time the love in Arabella’s eyes stopped him from doing so. Ethan decided to keep a close watch on Victor. He did not like it but he was a little too worried about Arabella. Victor on the other hand came alone and kept on staring at Arabella every chance he got. Ethan did not like the way Victor roamed his eyes over his Ari but at the same time he was helpless.

The wedding ceremony went smoothly; Jason and Nora looked amazing and extremely happy to be united in front of their lord. Arabella looked at them with dreamy eyes; she always longed to have her happily ever after. Now that she got attention from Victor she can’t wait to see where all this will lead to.

Soon it was time for the couple dance, all the couples joined in once the bride and groom got on the stage. Ethan did not want to miss the chance to finally hold Arabella…may be it is for the first and last time I get to hold her…he thought. He asked Arabella for a dance and to his surprise she didn’t hesitate, Ethan took her hand and walked to the dance floor. Arabella had a soft smile on her face and she didn’t miss the emotion in Ethan’s eyes. She thought it was respect, but it was pure affection. May be she never pictured Ethan holding such an emotion towards her? Or maybe it was only one man on her mind in whose eyes she wanted to see that affection. Ethan held Arabella’s petite waist and she had her arms wrapped around his neck. Ethan had an urge to pull her closer but he was a man aware of his boundaries. Lost in her charm he didn’t realize the presence of someone beside them. It was only when Victor cleared his throat did Ethan acknowledge him. Victor had a smile on his face and said…

“Can I have a dance with the beautiful lady?” Ethan wanted to punch him right in the face for lying to Arabella; but one look at Arabella and he lost all hopes. She had so much love in her eyes, but unfortunately for Ethan it was not for him. He just gave Victor a nod and reluctantly withdrew his arms from Arabella’s waist. He took a step back and saw Victor bowing a little with his hand extended for Arabella. She blushed even more and the smile on her face was to die for. She didn’t even look at Ethan once she was in Victor’s arms.

The evening passed and finally Ethan was on his way to drop Arabella, she rested her head at the window and after a moment fell asleep with a smile on her face. Ethan was aware that she was asleep and patiently waited for her to wake up; yes he stayed outside her building for almost fifteen minutes just looking at the angel beside him. When Arabella woke up very smoothly Ethan lied that they had just reached her home. Ethan once again asked her to wait while he got to the other side of the car to open her door. Arabella insisted him to join her and her aunt for a cup of coffee but Ethan declined her offer as politely as he could. She let it go and walked towards her apartment. Ethan stood there looking at her till she disappeared. Jonathan who was standing at Arabella’s window saw the whole exchange and he did not miss the longing look in Ethan’s eyes while he watched Arabella walk away. Jonathan knew that look all too well, he would always look at Daisy with the same look in his eyes. He had heard of Arabella’s big boss but today was the first time he saw him. And maybe he didn’t just see Ethan but also saw his feelings for their Bella.
