“Skylar” Rebecca yelled. I ran over to her and waited for her to speak. “There is a really important client. He needs a woman to escort him to that big Gala you have been hearing about on tv. I thought you would be the perfect person for the job. The Gala is tonight, so go find yourself a gown and heels.”

I just nodded my head and ran to my room to grab my purse. I had Vincent, our driver, to drive me to the mall. Where I found the perfect floor-length gown and matching heels. When I finished, I grabbed a bite to eat before having Vincent rush home so I’d have plenty of time to get ready. When I was finished getting ready, Rebecca came over the intercom in my room.

“He is here.” I slipped my heels on before slowly making my way down the stairs. I was too focused on not falling. Rather then how gracefully I should be walking down these wretched stairs. I heard someone clear their throats, so I looked up.

The man standing in front of me was a God. He had black hair, that looked so silky I wanted to run my fingers through. His emerald eyes gave away just what he was thinking. His chiseled jaw, and his beautifully plump lips that are calling my name. He cleared his throat again, regaining my attention. He held out his arm for me to take. So that’s just what I did. I took his arm.

Not once did this God-like man introduces himself. So neither did I. When we walked out front, I was not surprised to see a limo. I climbed in and sat down before looking out the window, thinking about him. And why a man like him needs to pay an escort to be his date. He sat across from me. When I felt the limo start to move, he cleared his throat once again.

“Do you have something stuck in your throat”. I asked innocently. He just ignored my question before saying ” this is an important event, I need you to be on your best behavior”. Before he could continue, I interrupted him saying “I’m a professional.” He looked pissed but honestly, I didn’t care. He continued saying “there are big people going to be there tonight. You are my date for the night”.

I whispered underneath my breath “no shit Sherlock”. I didn’t think he heard me. “You are one infuriating woman,” he said breathing heavily while looking me dead in the eyes. I simply replied,” I do have a name, which you have yet to ask for yet.” He was quick to reply ” I already know your name, Ms. Dixon. So if you will quit with all the sarcastic comments.” We didn’t talk for the rest of the ride. When the limo pulled to a stop. I said, “I do need to know your name for this to work out.”

“It’s Titus Knight,” he said before climbing out and offering me his hand.

“This is gonna be a long night” I whispered before taking a deep breath, and putting my hand in his as I stepped out of the limo. Cameras were flashing every which way I looked.
