“Where’s Perion,” Blaine asked Debi.
She shrugged her shoulders. “Don’t know. She was just here. I thought I saw her go outside.”
Suspiciously, Blaine asked, “Where’s Lein?”
Debi sighed. “Blaine...”
“Don’t Blaine me, Debi. If something is going on between ’em, I think I have the right to know, don’t I? And I sincerely believe something is. Now, tell me, is she with Lein?”
“Blaine, I honestly don’t know. Lein was with someone else tonight. He probably left with that chick. Peri probably just went home.”
He did not believe her. Blaine left her and went out the exit door. He expected to find them together, but all he saw was an empty alley.
