Chapter Thirteen

Adrien's POV

Preston and I spent the entire weekend at home, cuddling and watching movies. It was the most comfortable I have ever been, and to be honest, I never felt as happy as I did then. Cuddling with Preston on his bed, my head on his chest and his arms around me as we watched movies on his tv, was the best feeling. Kissing and touching him just made things better. I was giddy just thinking about it.

Preston was not only my best friend but my boyfriend now as well. I couldn't help but smile.

But I was also nervous. It was Monday morning, and I was getting dressed while Preston took a shower. How would people react when they see us walk in hand in hand? More so, how was Marci going to react? Was she going to be mad at me or would she be okay with it? I was worried she would be upset. She was one of my friends and I didn't want to upset her.

I sighed and shook my head. When I looked in the mirror this morning the hickey Preston left in my neck from a couple of days before was still there but faded slightly, so I had to cover it up with concealer. Now, I pulled on a pair of distressed mom jeans, rolling up the ankles. I grabbed a grey buttoned sweater-knit cardigan and threw it on, buttoning it up at the front. Then, I ran my fingers threw my hair and spritzed on vanilla-scented body mist.

By the time I was done getting ready, Preston wandered back into the bedroom. My lips parted slightly, standing there like a fool because I couldn't help but blatantly stare at him. He was wearing a short-sleeved loose fit button up with embroidered patterns on it, tucked into a pair of jeans. I could smell his cologne from where I stood. His hair was still damp and slicked from his face, but holy hell did he look hot. I couldn't stop staring at him.

He looked really good.

"Something on my face?" I blinked out of my daze and met Preston's eyes. He was smirking at me, and I couldn't help the way my cheeks heated up. I scoffed lightly, shaking my head.

"No...you just, Uhm...look good," I murmured. Preston chuckled softly. He wandered over, cupping my face softly as he pressed a kiss to my forehead. Then, he tilted my head back to kiss my lips. I smiled at that.

"Yea? Well...you look good too. Beautiful," He murmured. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him back down to kiss him once again. Preston laughed against my lips and kissed me back, coaxing my mouth open gently as he dipped his tongue in for a quick little make out.

And when we pulled back for air, I gasped as Preston dipped his head down to my neck, licking a long line up the side of my neck before kissing me there. I laughed and cringed, pushing against his shoulders to pull him off me.

"That was gross," I laughed, rubbing my neck with my sleeve. Preston smirked teasingly at me, sticking his tongue out.

"Yea, well...you smell like vanilla," He smirked teasingly, "and taste like it too."

I rolled my eyes at him, patted his chest and pointed to his bag on the floor, "Yea well, less licking and more moving. We gotta get to school."

"You're no funnnnnn," Preston whined. He planted a quick kiss on my cheek before he grabbed his bag off the floor by the bed, and shrugged it over his shoulder. I smiled crookedly and grabbed my own bag.

"I'm fun in more ways than one," I winked. Preston's eyes glinted with amusement, a grin on his face as I walked to the bedroom door.

"Indeed...you are."

We made our way downstairs. After saying goodbye to our parents, we grabbed our shoes and coats and headed out. When we started walking along the sidewalk, Preston took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers together.

I couldn't help the smile that broke out onto my face. I squeezed Preston's hand gently as we walked, leaning against him with my free hand wrapped around his arm.

When we made it to school, we headed inside and walked upstairs to our lockers. Preston let go of my hand so he could open his locker and grab his textbooks and hang up his coat. I grabbed my own biology textbook, tucking it into my bag before closing my locker.

"Hey, I'll see you at lunch, yea?" Preston said to me. The bell rang shortly after he said that, and I flashed him a smile.

"Yea, I'll see you at lunch," I replied. Preston smiled softly and kissed me on the lips.

"Alright, see you later, baby," He smirked. I laughed and rolled my eyes. After one last kiss and a playful wink from Preston, he was making his way down the hallway.

I watched him go, before heading down the opposite way to head to biology. When I got to class, Phoebe and Asher sitting at our group table. When I made my way over and sat down, Phoebe's gaze instantly turned to me, and she beamed.

"Adrien!" Phoebe greeted with a wide smile. I returned the smile, placing my notes and textbook onto the desk, "how was your weekend?"

"It was good," I laughed, "what about you two?"

"Joseph was hungover so we spent most of the weekend in bed," Phoebe said, "he was a literal baby, whining about his headache."

"Hah! Luckily I didn't drink too much so I was fine. Daniel and I celebrated our third year anniversary together on the weekend. We went out to dinner and rollerblading," Asher smiled wide.

"Awe! That sounds like fun," I replied. Phoebe gasped suddenly, quickly grabbing on my arm.

"Speaking of which!" Phoebe pointed, "you and Preston! How's it feel to be dating someone, huh? And you lost your virginity! I want all the details!"

"Phoebe!" I blushed heavily. She gave me a pointed look. Asher let out a laugh, grinning amusedly.

"Literally so many people saw you kiss on the driveway on Friday. It didn't take long for it to spread around," Asher smirked, "oh, and I want details too!"

I rolled my eyes at them, my cheeks feeling hot from embarrassment, "it was...nice. That's all you need to know."

Asher snorted, "nice? Or is that just short for mind-blowing?"

"It means it was nice! For a first time, it was good, so that's all you need to know!"

Phoebe giggled, "awe, you're so shy, Adrien! Though, I am happy for you and Preston! Honestly, you're kind of glowing a bit."

I frowned at her curiously, "what do you mean glowing?"

"I don't know! You just...look happier. It's hard to explain," Phoebe shrugged.

Before I could reply, our biology teacher told us to be quiet. The three of us quieted our conversation, though that didn't stop Asher from leaning over and whispering someone's in a bad mood. Phoebe snorted and opened her notebook.

When class was over, I packed my bag. I said goodbye to Asher and Phoebe before we parted ways. I headed downstairs to the art room, and when I got to class, people were already walking in and sitting around the different wood tables. I turned and saw Marci sitting with Daniel, and instantly I felt nervous.

Taking a deep breath, I walked over to them. I sat down on the stool next to them, Daniel turning and smiling at me in greeting, Marci glancing up at me.

"Hey guys, how was your weekend?" I asked and sat down. I glanced at Marci briefly, biting my lip when her gaze lowered as she pulled out her phone.

"It was good, I'm sure Asher told you all about it during first period," Daniel chuckled. I smiled crookedly.

"Yea he did, did you have fun?" I asked.

"Of course I had fun," He smirked. I laughed at that, before turning my gaze back over to Marci.

"How was your weekend, Marci?" I asked her. She didn't answer me for a moment, her eyes glued to her phone before she sighed and glanced up at me, her eyebrow raised.

"I don't know, Adrien. How was your weekend? Have loads of fun?" She replied harshly. I frowned at her and looked away, instantly feeling my cheeks burn from embarrassment and shame.

"That's what I thought," She grumbled. She stood up from the stool she was sitting on, grabbed her bag, and moved to another table. Daniel called out to her, but when she ignored him, he let out a sigh and turned to me.

"Don't listen to what she says. She's being an ass," Daniel said. He placed a hand on my shoulder, "you didn't do anything wrong."

"Wouldn't you be mad if you told a friend you liked someone and then they went ahead and slept with the person you like?" I murmured with a frown. Daniel released a heavy sigh.

"Maybe? I'd get over it. But Preston probably had clear intentions on asking you out even before Marci said anything to you, and if you like Preston, there isn't anything wrong with dating him. You and he have been friends for like ten years so I don't see any issue."

"I guess...I just feel bad. I didn't mean to upset her," I bit my lip.

"She'll get over it. Preston isn't the only guy in the world, so there is no reason to fight over him," Daniel shrugged.

I nodded my head slowly. For the rest of class, our art teacher Ms. Sawyer allowed us to work on our paintings that were due later this week. Daniel and I sat side by side while we worked on our easels, talking every now and then. I couldn't help but glance over at Marci every now and then. She was sitting with a group of girls, talking and laughing.

I frowned, before looking back to my painting. When there were five minutes left of class, I cleaned up my station. I washed my brushes in the sink and put them away, followed by the paints and palette I used. I washed the paint off my hands, put away my apron, and then went to grab my bag from the stool.

When the bell rang, I noticed Marci make her way to the door. I slung my bag over my shoulder and quickly caught up to her, grabbing onto her arm as she stepped into the hallway of crowded students. She whipped around to face me, yanking her arm from me with a glare.

"Can we talk?" I pleaded with a frown. Marci scoffed at me, crossing her arms.

"What's there to talk about Adrien, hm? Other than the fact that you're a fucking ass?" Marci snapped, "I asked you to help me with Preston because I liked him, and what do you do? You go ahead and SLEEP with him, knowing that I liked him!"

"I'm sorry Marci, I-I really am! W-we were just talking and then—"

"Then what? You threw yourself on him?? You know, it's fucking funny. Who knew that Adrien Aguilera, the innocent little good boy had it in him to dress like a slut and make out with one of the most popular guys at school, that's what everyone at the party was thinking when you two were caught red-handed leaving," Marci raised her voice. I winced. Before I could say anything, Daniel stepped over, looking displeased.

"That's enough, Marci. I get that you're mad but you don't need to call Adrien a slut over it. He's not one. Preston likes him and not you, and you need to get over that," Daniel said, crossing his arms, "you're being ridiculous."

"I'm being ridiculous?? You don't go after someone your friend likes! That's just wrong! So yea, he's a big fucking slut!" Marci shouted. I lowered my head. Her words stung. They sliced into my chest and burned a hole there. Now, I felt ashamed of myself.

Marci turned on her heel and dashed down the hallway. Daniel called out to her, but when she disappeared out of sight, he sighed and shook his head.

Tears burned my eyes. It probably shouldn't have hurt as much as it did, but no one has ever called me that before. Was that what I was? A slut? Just for liking Preston and wanting to be with him?

The tears slowly rolled down my face. I quickly wiped at them, not wanting to cry in the hallway, but they kept coming and I couldn't stop them. Daniel frowned at me and wrapped his arms around me, rubbing his hands against my back. I hugged him back.

"Let's go into the stairwell, no one will be there," Daniel said. I nodded my head at that and remained silent. He smiled reassuringly and with a hand on my back, guided me through the hallway and to the stairwell, tears still running down my face.

Preston's POV

"Preston!" Annie called out as Joseph and I stepped into the music room. It was second period. I spent my entire first period being bombarded with questions and confrontations about the rumours that spread around the school like a forest fire — is it true you and Adrien are dating??

Of course, I answered with a confident yes, I am. While it was annoying to have people constantly bugging me, I was happy I was able to brag about Adrien being my boyfriend. Why? Because he was the best person to ever live on this earth, and everyone needed to know that I was the one who was dating said best person on this earth.

Adrien made me happy, probably the happiest I've ever been in my life, and knowing that he was now mine to kiss and cherish, to cuddle and to love, made my chest leap with excitement. I was beyond happy.

"Hey Annie," I smiled as I walked over and found a seat, setting my bag onto the ground. Joseph grabbed the seat beside me, picking up one of the guitars.

"You've probably been bombarded already, but rumour says you're dating Adrien now! That song you sang was for him??" Annie asked in excitement. I chuckled and nodded my head.

"Yea, it was for him."

"How cute! You two always seemed to have some kind of chemistry, so it makes sense! I'm happy for you two," She beamed.

Joseph smirked, nudging my arm with his elbow, "Yea, popular jock Preston King is finally dating somebody exclusively. Never thought I'd see the day."

I rolled my eyes at Joseph, "ha-ha. Very funny."

Joseph laughed. We spent second period playing our instruments and listening to Mr. Anderson's lesson. He also didn't fail to praise us for our performances at the Halloween assembly. Overall, second period was chill as it always was and never ceased to be my favourite class of the day. Who wouldn't want to spend 75 minutes playing instruments?

When second period was over and the bell rang, Joseph and I stopped at our lockers. We talked about our upcoming football game that was in a couple of weeks and the other none sense as we walked our way back downstairs to the cafeteria.

When we reached the loud cafeteria and walked to our usual table, Kourtney, Phoebe, and Asher were the only ones who were sitting and chatting. I raised a brow, Joseph and I making our way over.

"Where's Adrien, Daniel, and Marci?" I asked.

Kourtney was the first look over. She shrugged her shoulders, "I'm not sure. Usually, they're here. Maybe they got caught up in class with something?"

"I guess so," I nodded my head, dropping down into the seat beside Asher while Joseph took the spot next to Phoebe and pressed a kiss to her cheek in greeting.

"So, Adrien told me that it was good for a first time. That sounds pretty mediocre to me," Asher teased, nudging my arm. He sipped his carton of chocolate milk from a straw. I scoffed at him.

"Mediocre? Please, It was anything but mediocre," I replied. Asher laughed.

"Okay, buddy. No need to brag about how good you are."

"It seems like literally everyone got laid at that party. Including your girl right here!" Kourtney cheered, a giddy smile on her face.

"Oh?" I raised a brow, smirking at her, "who's the lucky guy, huh?"

"You know Kade Mason on the rugby team? He hit me up at the party and you know, the rest is history," She winked at me, "he was so hot. He even gave me his number after."

"Wow, got yourself a man I see," I laughed. Kourtney grinned at me, looking proud of herself as she dug her fork into her pasta, and took a bite.

Chatter bounced around the group, Asher mostly blabbering on about the date he went on with Daniel on the weekend. I pulled out my lunch bag and set it onto the table, opened up the container of wraps I made myself this morning and took a bite.

Then, after a few minutes, I lifted my gaze from the conversation and noticed Adrien and Daniel making their way towards the table. Adrien was tugging at his cardigan sleeves, and when I saw that his eyes were red like he had been crying, my brows raised in concern.

"What happened? Are you okay?" I asked concernedly. Everyone's gaze turned to Adrien and Daniel. Before I could stand up Adrien was taking the seat beside me, and instantly, he wrapped his arms around me, resting his cheek against my chest. I frowned and hugged him close to me.

"Marci. She's mad and she took it out on him," Daniel said with a sigh, sitting down in the last empty seat. I furrowed my brows at him.

"What did she say?" Phoebe asked in concern. Daniel opened his mouth to speak, but Adrien cut him off.

"She said that I threw myself onto Preston and called me a slut," He murmured.

Asher scoffed, "what a fucking bitch. She's just jealous that Preston likes you and not her. She's being immature. A slut, seriously? You're not a slut. Don't listen to her. She's putting you down because you have what she wants."

"What Asher said. You're not a slut, and you didn't do anything wrong either. Do you want me to go talk to her?" I asked him. Adrien shook his head, his arms tightening around me.

"N-no...I don't want to make it worse...so just stay here," He murmured. I released a heavy sigh and nodded. I brushed my fingers over his back softly and kissed his forehead.

Adrien was quiet for the rest of lunch. During third period, he didn't talk much either. Instead he just focused on the chemistry lesson while jotting down notes. We parted ways during fourth period. I gave him a quick kiss on the lips and a hug before watching him walk down the hallway. If anything, I wished I could stay with him during the last period and make sure that he's okay. Joseph is in the same English class as him though so I can just ask him to keep an eye on Adrien.

I head down to the gymnasium. When I get there, I stepped into the king's change room, moving over to my locker to grab my gym clothes. A few of my classmates were talking and laughing while they changed, but the moment I walked in, their gazes turned to me.

"Hey, man! Haven't seen you since you left the party on Friday. How was your weekend?" Lucas called out to me. He was also on the football team and Joseph and I were.

"I bet he had a fantastic weekend, am I right?" Carter, captain of the rugby team, smirked at me knowingly, "finally get some ass from that cute best friend of yours?"

"That's none of your business," I chuckled. I unbuttoned my shirt and shrugged it off, before pulling on my gym shirt.

"Oh come on, Preston. No one's ever been able to get with Adrien. He's like a damn rarity. Of course it would only take you for him to be willing to spread his legs, am I right?" Carter laughed. A few others started to laugh and smirk.

I raised a brow at him, "Adrien isn't some kind of prize to be won over and passed around. You're a dick and he deserves respect. So don't talk about my boyfriend like that, otherwise you'll get another thing coming to you."

Carter whistled, "geez, Preston. Settle down, I was just joking."

"Disrespecting someone is not a joke, therefore it wasn't funny," I said to him. Carter snorted at that, but instead of listening to him talk, I slammed my locker shut once I was done changing, and made my way out into the gym.
