Chapter Twenty-Two

Adrien’s POV

Valentine’s Day.

Usually, there wasn’t too much excitement when anticipating the most romantic day of the year. Though, our friends still celebrated the holiday as a way to celebrate our love of friendship. Every year, Preston and I would express the love we had for each other as best-friends through candy grams and gifts, but this year...was entirely different.

Different in the sense that we were celebrating the holiday not only as best friends but as lovers as well. And that small new detail has made the holiday seem all the more exciting. My heart tingled just thinking about it. I expressed my love for Preston every single day, but today, I got to spoil the hell out of him.

The painting I made for him, it took me hours, days. I spent the whole week during my spare period working on it because I wanted it to be perfect just for him. I even had Ms. Sawyer’s input on the painting because she was my favourite art teacher and she has helped me become the artist I am today. I looked up at her. Even though I wasn’t confident about pursuing a career in Art despite badly wanting to, she encouraged me to apply for art school back in December. So I did, along with a few other university programs in case I didn’t get in.

“So, since it’s Valentine’s day, and our parents are going out tonight, I was thinking we stop by the convenience store to grab some munchies and order take out for dinner later?” Preston nudged me with his elbow as we walked down the sidewalk. We walked hand in hand. Snow fell from the sky. It was freezing cold and my cheeks stung from the icy breeze.

“Is this part of the surprise you have planned?” I glanced up at Preston with a smile. Preston smirked at me, letting go of my hand to wrap his arm around my shoulder, pulling me close against him. I laughed and leaned into him, wrapping both my arms around his torso.

“Maybe,” Preston chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. I smiled softly at that, nuzzling my face against his shoulder. His winter coat was cold to the touch against my cheek, but I didn’t care too much. His arms were comforting.

We reached the convenience store. When we walked inside, Preston and I started wandering around the store and grabbed a variety of candy, chocolate, and other munchies. We stuffed them into a basket before paying for them at the register—well, Preston paid for it as he didn’t allow me to pay for any of it.

When we got home, we kicked off our shoes and shrugged off our coats. We were greeted as per usual by our dog Kodey, and eventually, my mom stepped into the mudroom to greet us as well. Jackson wasn’t home yet seeing he was still at work, but I knew once he got off work he and my mom would be going out for dinner on a date...Which meant that Preston and I would have the house to ourselves tonight.

“Will you two be okay while we’re gone? We’ll probably be gone till late tonight because we’ll be meeting up with a few friends after dinner,” Mom asked us.

“We’ll be fine mom, we’re adults now. We know how to take care of ourselves,” I reassured. My mom scoffed.

“You’re not an adult—you’re still seventeen!” She gave me a pointed look, then looked to Preston, “and you sir, may be eighteen now but you still act like a child.”

“Relax, Meghan. We’ve been home alone before. We’ll be fine. Don’t ’cha worry,” Preston smiled at her amusedly.

“Mhmm. Don’t forget to use condoms,” She pointed at both of us. Then, she turned around and headed back to the kitchen. A heavy blush painted my cheeks. Preston snorted, stifling back laughter, only to burst out laughing when I elbowed him in the stomach.

“Not funny!” I narrowed my eyes at him as he kept laughing, now hunched over with his hand on his stomach.

“S-So funny!” Preston cackled. He straightened his back, flashing me a grin. I rolled my eyes at him as he kissed my cheek. Then, tilted his head towards the stairs.

I stuck my tongue out at him. I took both bags from him that were full of candy and junk food and started making my way up the stairs. As I stepped onto the first stair, a loud smack echoed in the air as Preston’s hand made contact with my ass, making me gasp and whip around to glare at him. Preston laughed at my expression, flashing me an innocent smirk.

“You’re such an idiot,” I scoffed. Preston shrugged, blowing me a kiss. I swerved out of the way.

“I’m your idiot, baby. You love me.”

“Not right now I don’t,” I turned my back to him and headed up the stairs. I heard Preston laugh from behind me before he started following me up the stairs.

“When I make sweet, sweet love to you tonight, you will.”

***

“Fuck,” Preston groaned from behind me. I was left panting breathlessly as Preston fucked me from behind. I hung onto the bedpost as he thrusted in and out of me, my flannel slipping up above my waist and hanging off my shoulders.

We were supposed to be watching a movie in our room while our parents were out on their date. Except, halfway through the movie one thing led to another and soon enough, we were having sex. We barely made it through the movie before he basically said screw it, and he pulled me closer to kiss me. With Preston, he could never contain his excitement. Not that I minded.

“H-Harder, Preston!” I cried out. My hand squeezed the bed covers, toes curling as Preston thrusted into me harder. He gripped onto my hips, pulling me back to meet his every thrust, drawing out moan after moan from me.

“Mm...you’re pretty loud tonight baby, what’s gotten into you?” Preston whispered breathlessly against my ear, a shiver shooting up my spine from his voice. He loomed over me, wrapping his arm around me to grip under my chin, and tilted my head back so that he could press his lips to my neck.

“S-stop...stop talking,” I groaned. Preston chuckled against my neck, kissing his way up my jaw until he reached my lips, and he turned my head to kiss me properly. I kissed him back — or tried to at least, with the angle we were in and the way Preston was rolling his hips against me, made it harder to keep my mouth shut long enough to kiss him.

“I should fuck you like this more often...you’re usually only ever like this when you’re riding me,” Preston smirked, pecking my lips, “because I know how much you love doing that...”

“Preston, if you don’t shut up I’m going to push you off of me and finish off in the bathroom by myself,” I threatened breathily against his lips.

Preston laughed, pulling back slightly, “not a fan of me talking while I’m fucking you?”

“Not when you’re talking like an idiot.”

Preston gave a particularly hard thrust, hitting that spot inside me that had my legs shaking. I gasped, my hands gripping the bedsheets tighter as a moan fell from my lips.

“So...are you saying that you like it when I dirty talk?” Preston whispered, pressing his lips against my earlobe.

“Preston...”

“I love it when you moan...Adrien. I love knowing that I’m making you feel good because it makes me feel good,” Preston murmured. His fingers brushed down my spine, littering goosebumps against my skin, and when he pushed me down until my cheek was pressed against the mattress, my cheeks flushed red.

Then, Preston was moving again. Though, instead of going hard, his thrusts were slow and gradual. A slow burn that lit a fire on my skin. He hit all the right spots in a slow and agonizing pattern, and I couldn’t help but groan, pushing my hips back against him. He made sure I felt every detail of the way our bodies connected together, and it made me cry out almost every time his hips snapped forwards against mine.

It didn’t take much longer until my entire body tensed up as pleasure slipped deep into my veins. My nails dug into the bed to the point I almost feared that they ripped, but they didn’t. I stiffened, my legs shook, and a cry left my lips until I was lax against the bed, panting for breath. Preston came shortly after, his deep moan ringing in my ears and woke up the butterflies fluttering in my stomach, and then, he was pulling out while catching his breath.

I didn’t move for a moment, before I rolled onto my back with a deep breath, watching as Preston got up to toss the used condom into the trash. Then, he was wandering back over to the bed in his naked glory, a cheeky smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes at him, smiling as he leaned over me to press a kiss to my lips.

“Mmm, wasn’t that the best Valentine’s Day sex or what?” Preston said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes at him, smiling as I pushed him back with my hand against his chest.

“Maybe. I wouldn’t know though because this is the only Valentine’s Day sex I’ve ever had.”

Preston scoffed, “you were supposed to say: yes, Preston...It was the best Valentine’s Day sex I have ever had in my life. I loved the way your—”

The doorbell rang. I raised a brow at Preston, pulling my flannel closed to cover my naked self, “oh, it looks like our takeout is here.”

“You...are a fox, you know that?” Preston pointed. I shrugged with a smile. He shook his head with a chuckle. I watched as he grabbed his boxers off the floor and pulled them on with his jeans before he was hurrying out of the bedroom to get the door.

I watched him go, before I sat up on the bed, grabbing my underwear off the floor and slipped it on. By the time I did that, Preston was wandering back into the bedroom with a bag of takeout in his hands. He closed the door behind him and walked over, setting our bags of food down onto the bed in front of me.

“Ugh, it smells so good,” I groaned. I quickly dug into the bag and pulled out the boxes of food, but Preston grabbed onto my arm, making me look up at him with a raised brow.

“Don’t way just yet. I still...got my surprise for you,” Preston smirked. I knitted my brows together curiously, “close your eyes.”

“Is it a good surprise?” I asked, covering my eyes with my hands while turning around on the bed. I heard Preston chuckle, his footsteps fading off towards the closet.

“I mean, I think it’s a good surprise.”

I heard him shuffle around in the closet. I kept my eyes closed and my back turned, but now I was impatient. I was curious to know what the surprise was. After another second of shuffling around, I heard Preston wander back over to the bed.

“Okay, you can open your eyes now.”

I removed my hands and turned around. My eyes widened as Preston stood in front of me with a jewelry box in his hand. I took the box from him, and when I opened the lid, I was faced with the most beautiful necklace I have ever seen in my life.

“P-Preston...oh my god,” I whispered, tears filling my eyes as I stared down at the necklace. It was silver, and the pendant on the necklace was half of a heart. And when I looked back up at Preston, I realized he had put on a necklace around his neck, with the other half of the heart.

“I love you, Adrien. You are my other half, and now, you have half of my heart,” Preston said to me. He was smiling. I returned the smile through my blurry tears, quickly wiping the tears off my face.

“I-It’s beautiful...Preston. I love it,” I laughed tearfully, “thank you...”

“You’re very welcome,” He smirked. Then, he was sitting on the bed behind me. He took the necklace out of the box and clasped it around my neck for me. I placed my hand over the heart pendent, tilting my head back to look at him with a smile. He smiled back.

“I love you,” I said.

“I love you too,” He replied. I smiled, turning around to face him, and kissed his lips softly. My heart felt full. The necklace was beautiful and I couldn’t help the happiness that swelled in my chest. Preston was everything I ever wanted, and to have him here, saying that he loved me, was all I could ever ask for.

Because I loved him, and he loved me.
