Chapter Nine: The Wolf Pack
Chelsea moaned as she opened her eyes. What happened? Memories swarmed her mind. She’d been in the back-yard daydreaming when she’d heard a pop. She’d turned just as a man came into the yard, a grin on his face.
“Your father wants to see you.” He had said.
Then everything had gone black.
Her father? Oh no!
She sat up and found that she was back in her dingy room in her father’s house. She covered her face with her hands and started to cry.
“Why are you crying now?!”
That voice. Her father.
“You cried when I threw you out, and now you’re crying when I bring you back. Is nothing good enough for you, girl?”
She moved her hands from her face and looked at the open door, where her father stood glaring at her.
“I found a new home. And you took me from it.”
He snorted. “Who is desperate enough to accept something like you? Ah yes, you are a Fated Mate.” He said with a grin. “Do they know you’re a lowly Fox? Did you keep it a secret from your mate?”
She shook her head. “He knows.”
Her father scoffed. “Damn brat. You should have come home when you’d discovered you were something so important.” He said angrily, then moved over to her and took hold of her wrists. “He claimed you. I bet you think you have more power than an Alpha, don’t you?” He said, then took hold of her hair and tipped her head back to sneer in her face. “Don’t you!?” He yelled, spitting in her face.
She kept her mouth shut as she glared up at him. She won’t give him the satisfaction.
“Doesn’t matter.” He snarled. “My pack will get your powers anyways.” He said, then began dragging her out the door by her hair. “If only I’d known how much power is in a claimed Fated Mate. I would have had my boys wait until they were claimed before taking them. They haven’t gotten shit, from any of the unclaimed, Fated Mates, except for a decent fuck.”
Chelsea whimpered as her father dragged her by her hair outside and tossed her to the ground.
“Have at her, boys.” He said with a laugh.
Chelsea looked around and whimpered when she saw ten men surrounding her, all ready to take her. Their cocks were already hard. She took a deep breath. She’s not the weakling she once was. She is now a Fated Mate. And her mate is a fucking Vampire!
She screamed, but it wasn’t a scream of fear when the men grabbed her and began dragging her to the barn. She fought with them, kicking, clawing, screaming. Five of their strongest had to hold her down once they got her inside the barn.
“Who wants to go first?” One of the men said as he licked his lips.
“I always wanted to fuck the bitch. But Alpha wouldn’t let me.” One of the men said as he stepped forward.
The others cheered him on as he approached Chelsea.
Chelsea stared into the man’s eyes. She’s not going to show these fuckers, any fear.
Alpha Lenox laughed when he heard his daughter scream. The little bitch deserves what she gets after keeping something like this from him and his pack.
Lenox turned to his scout. “What have you found?”
“The adults have left the children on their own.”
Lenox grinned. “Take ten of your best men.”
The scout laughed. “Yes, sir.”
Lenox returned to his house and hollered for one of his sons to bring him a drink.
Chelsea fought off the men, the best she could. She felt her markings burn, and felt the power radiate off them. When she kicked, she kicked hard enough to send the man across the barn. When she scratched, she scratched hard enough to slice open their skin. When she bit, she bit hard enough to draw blood.
“Damn bitch!” One of the men said as he hit her hard enough, she swore she felt her brain rattle in her skull.
“Is that any way to talk to a lady?”
The man who had hit her paused in the middle of another swing and turned.
Chelsea saw her fellow Fated Mates and smiled.
“You’re in trouble now.” She whispered.
The men laughed.
“We can handle a few women.” One of them said.
“Oh. But we’re more than just women.” Sharissa said as she stepped forward.
“We’re Fated Mates.” Lyvia said as she moved to stand next to Shar.
The men laughed again.
“More women to fuck!”
“Don’t think so.” Pearl said as she created a ball of fire, then threw it at the fucker who had hit Chelsea.
Chelsea took the distraction of her sisters and flipped herself out of the grasp of the men who were barely holding her.
It was all chaos, as the nine women beat the fuck out of the ten men.
Josiah ran into the barn and skidded to a stop. “Wow.” He said as he looked around the barn. “Looks like I missed all the fun.”
The women laughed as they hugged Chelsea.
“I didn’t think you’d come for me.” Chelsea cried.
Shar laughed. “You’re stuck with us, babe. Now let’s get you out of here. The guys went after your father.”
“Uh, girls.” Josiah said as he pointed behind them. “I think maybe we should dispose of them first.”
“Good idea.” Bridget said as she appeared before them. “I do love me some nice fresh Shifter blood.” She said as she licked her lips.
“Bridget.” Maddy hissed.
Bridget laughed. “Don’t be so hoity-toity, Maddy. A girl’s gotta eat.” She said, then jumped on the nearest Shifter who was starting to stand and tore out his throat with her teeth.
“Fuck.” Shar growled.
“Oh, God.” Josie moaned.
“What is wrong with her?” Lyvia asked as they stood there and watched the Vampire jump from Shifter to Shifter and kill them in one way or another, licking her lips as she tore into them.
“If she was a Shifter, I would say she was in heat.” Josiah mumbled as his eyes widened when the Vampire tore off one of the Shifter’s heads and held it in the air, then tilted her head back and opened her mouth, letting the blood drip onto her tongue.
“Bridget!” Maddy hollered.
Bridget turned her head and smirked at them, then dropped the head and disappeared.
“Something is definitely wrong with that Vampire.” Shar said as her body shook with a chill.
“Let’s get out of here.” Lyvia said as she took hold of Shar’s arm and pulled her from the carnage.
They ran from the barn and skidded to a stop when they found their men, still fighting.
“Well, I guess we can help them.” Shar said with a laugh as she ran to help her mate with two Wolves.
Chelsea looked around for her mate and when she didn’t see him, she started to panic. Had he not come with the others for her?
“He went after your father!” Daryl hollered as he threw a Wolf across the yard.
Chelsea nodded. Her chest filled with what she could only describe as love, for the Vampire who is her mate.
She ran into the house and stopped when she found three of her brothers standing guard. She didn’t want to hurt them. It’s not their fault their father is an asshole. But they were as mean to her as everyone else.
“Look what we have here.” The oldest said with a grin. “Our big sister, come to save her Vampire lover.”
Chelsea growled. “Back off, Lex.”
Lex laughed. “The little Fox is a big bad Shifter now, is she?”
Chelsea snarled. “You have no idea.”
The sound of breaking glass had them looking up. The boys ran up the stairs, and she ran back outside. That was the window breaking. She looked at the ground and sucked in a breath when she found her father lying there, his eyes blank.
Tate jumped out of the window and stood at the dead Alpha’s feet.
No, what has he done? She whimpered when she watched the others from the pack stare at their dead Alpha. Now one of her brothers is going to become the Alpha.
“Kill him!” Lex hollered from the window above them.
Chelsea watched with horror as the pack began attacking Tate.
“Teleport away!” She screamed.
“I’m not leaving you!” He hollered as he dodged one fist after another.
She watched as her brothers came running out of the house and attacked her mate. Daryl and his pack tried to protect him, but there were too many of her father’s pack.
No, no! They can’t do this. They took away everything good in her life. Her mother. Her books. Her freedom. They can’t have her new family too!
“Stop!” She screamed.
Every Shifter in her father’s pack stopped moving.
Daryl and his pack paused as they watched.
Chelsea stared at them. What the fuck?
“Chelsea.” Tate said as he moved around the others to get to her.
She blinked. “What’s going on?” She whispered.
Tate laughed. “You’re the oldest.”
She shook her head. “But I’m the weakest. I am not strong enough to be an Alpha.”
He shook his head as he stopped in front of her. “You are now, my love.” He said as he reached his hand out and caressed her cheek. “You’re a Fated Mate.”
She sucked in a breath. “I don’t understand.”
“Give them an order.” He whispered.
She looked around at the shocked looks on her pack’s faces. “Kneel.”
Everyone, including Tate, went to their knees.
“Fuck.” Tate grumbled, then laughed as he turned to look at Daryl. “I guess you’re not my Alpha anymore.”
“Two Alphas.” Shar whispered.
“This can’t be possible! I’m supposed to be Alpha!” Lex hollered.
A breeze blew through the village, and a beautiful woman appeared before them.
“Senshire.” Pearl whispered.
“Hello, my children.” Senshire said with a smile. “Many of you have been very bad.” She said with a frown.
Chelsea blinked at the Goddess. Was she fucking around with them?
“Not fucking around with you, my dear.” Senshire said as she looked at Chelsea. “You were always destined for this.”
Chelsea shook her head. “No. I can’t do this…” She sucked in a breath when the Goddess appeared before her, so close their noses almost touched.
“This is what you were born to do.” She said, then smiled.
“Senshire.” Daryl said as he raised his hand to the Goddess.
Senshire turned to him with the same smile. “Yes, Daryl Kraftman?”
“How can we have two Alphas? Won’t that complicate things?”
Senshire laughed. “Look around you, Alpha. Are you or your pack on your knees?”
Daryl looked around at his family, then at the other pack who were all still kneeling. “No.”
Senshire nodded. “Two Alphas, two packs. You will need the help when the war comes.” She said, then turned back to Chelsea. “Chelsea, my dear. What I am about to ask you, you must think hard on. Do you trust your pack?”
Chelsea looked around her at her pack. No, she does not trust her pack.
“That is all I needed to hear.” Senshire said, then snapped her fingers.
Every Wolf around them, fell over, except for one.
Chelsea blinked at the Shifters the Goddess had just so easily killed.
“Senshire?” Tate asked as he looked up at the Goddess.
Senshire smiled at him. “You can release your pack now.”
Chelsea shook her head. “What?”
“Let them stand.” Senshire whispered.
“Oh.” Chelsea said as she looked at her mate. “You may stand.”
“Sensire. I don’t understand.” Daryl said as he took a step toward the Goddess.
“What do you not understand?” Senshire asked as she turned to Daryl again.
“You said that we will need them, yet you killed them all.” Daryl said as he motioned around them.
Senshire smiled. “But I did not kill them all.” She said as she gestured to the houses, where Shifters were coming out to see what was going on.
It was mostly women and children. A few men that Chelsea had never seen before joined the women and children.
She also noticed that the one man the Goddess had let live, was her youngest brother, Lambert.
