09| meeting Gracie

Neveah

“Wait! So you watch Disney movies too!” Gracie squeals out making me laugh at the excited look on her adorable face. “Of course I do.” Gracie shoots a look at Drew who's driving while a small smile plays on his lips as he listens to me and his daughter chat. Still staring at the back of Drew's head Gracie grumbles out, “Well daddy doesn't watch them, he says they are too girly and make him want to poke his eyes out!” She looks over at me after stating that and I dramatically put a hand over my heart and say in a horrified voice “What? Too girly?!” looking over at Drew I continue “Drew you should be ashamed! How can Disney movies make you want to ‘poke your eyes out?’!’’

I can't help but hold back laughter when Gracie decides to add on to my horrified, dramatic speech.

“Yeah daddy, huh, huh? How, how? Answer the question!”

Drew sighs and shoots me a glare trying to look mad but the small smile on his kissable lips says different. “Now, now Grace honey you got it wrong. I have nothing against Disney movies it's just certain ones that make me want to poke my eyes out. Like Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, beauty and the beast, Rapunzel, the princess, and the frog, Anastasia-”

“See, I told you he doesn't like ‘em!” Gracie says cutting Drew off.

I nod and thin a moment before excitedly saying “I know how we can change that!”

“How?”

Grace and Drew ask at the same time.

Smirking at Drew I reply with “Oh, well I was thinking that we could gather all the Disney princess movies and have a princess movie night! ”

A horrified expression crosses Drew's face while a humongous grin crosses Gracie's.

“YES, YES!! THAT'S A SUPER DUPER AWESOME IDEA!!” Grace shouts loudly fist-pumping the air. . .

“So. . . a princess movie night.” Drew states sitting beside me on the sand. I look over at him and away from Gracie who is building a sandcastle. “. . . yeah. . .”

“You know since you said that she expects it to happen.”

I nod, “I know.”

Drew stares at me his brows bunching up.

Starting to feel uncomfortable I ask “Is something wrong? Should've not said that to her?” does he not want me spending time with her. . . or him after

His brows unbunch and he shakes his head saying quickly “No!”

No what?

No, I should have said that to her or No that nothing's wrong?

“Um . . .” sighing I start to stand when Drew grabs my hand and makes me stay but pulling me closer to him.

“No nothing is wrong love, and why would you think you shouldn't have told her we need to have a princess movie night?”

I shrug and look away from his imploring bright blue eyes. “I don't know. . . I just figured I shouldn't have because. . . I mean, you might not want too or you might not want her around me after this or”

“Love,” Drew cups my cheeks and stares directly into my eyes, “I'm ecstatic that you want yo spend more time with her. with. us. I've never seen her this talkative to a woman before not after just meeting them. She adores you and y'all just me.” I smile softly and look over at the sweet beautiful brown-haired, blue-eyed 7 years old. “I adore her as well, she just so..”

“Talkative, adorable, sassy,” Drew says smiling as well.

“yep.”

“So since we're having a princess movie night - lord help me- I'm guessing you are going to stay the night?”

“Yea, if that's okay.” I say, “Though will your wife mind?”

“Gretchen won't mind and if she does well to bad.”

“But Drew it's her home too even if you and she are getting divorced. Y'all are legally still married right now.”

Drew cups my chin and pulls my face toward his while he leans down, our lips so close they almost touch. “Gracie wants you there and I want you. . . there as well.” the way he says and I want you before adding there as well makes me wonder if he feels this pull of attraction that I feel.

I watch as his eyes darken before glancing at my lips then back up at my eyes. I don't know where I get the courage but I lean in placing our lips together were I then kiss him. He's shocked the first five seconds and when I start to pull back he grabs me hauling me closer and cupping my head with one hand the other tangling in my hair crushes our mouths together, his tongue darting into the heat of my mouth when I gasp out in surprise.

He devours me.

I wrap my arms around his neck, my fingers playing with the end of his hair. Soon I'm fully straddling him, our mouths glued together, our bodies pressed together. After a while, we break apart both if we gasping for air, his lips are red and swollen much like mine probably are.

I lick my lips still tasting him on my mouth, he tastes like tobacco and mint.

He smokes?

“Yes, I smoke.” Drew says making me widen my eyes I said that aloud? “and yes love you said it aloud.”

“Oh,” I blush and look away. “You're so freaking adorable when you blush.” he chuckles out leaning in and placing a kiss on my cheek.

I blush even harder.

“God!” he groans out wrapping his arms around my waist and burying his face in my neck. “A-are you sniffing me?” I ask incredulously.

“Yep,” he says popping the ‘p’ “you smell divine. .”

By now I probably, most definitely look as red as a tomato.

“Daddy! Neveah! Come play with me!” Gracie hollers and I've never been so glad to have an excuse to get away from someone. I jump up and run toward her, Drew's deep laughter following me.

We stayed at the beach for hours, swimming and building sandcastles and just having fun until deciding to leave and head to Papa's pizzeria and get a huge pepperoni and extra cheese pizza.

I've never had so much fun as I have today.

And that's exactly what I told Drew while he was dropping me off at Westley's. We decided to have the movie night tomorrow since it was already pretty late and Gracie was asleep in the backseat of the car, her head laying on the window.

“I'm glad you enjoyed today love,” Drew says pulling me close and placing a soft kiss on my forehead. “I've never seen Gracie have so much fun. She really likes you, and to be honest I can't even recall the last time I've laughed or smiled so much.”

I smile and hug him. “Well, I'll see you tomorrow. ” I pull back and start to turn to head to the house when I'm suddenly spun around, and Drew's lips on mine.

It's just a chaste kiss but it still leaves me breathless and flustered.

“I'll be here to pick you up at 9 tomorrow morning, 10 at the latest.”

I nod, “Okay, g’night.”

“Goodnight love.”
