The address took me almost an hour to find. It was on the outskirts of town. In the middle of nowhere there sat what looked like an old cabin. It was very rundown and overgrown in plant life. there was a small storage building next to the old cabin. It was dark and I could see light coming from the boarded-up windows.
I started to walk up towards the cabin quietly. I wanted to check the place out before I went in. That's when I felt the cold steel of a gun to the back of my head. I stopped moving and stood still. "I didn't actually think you would show. I'm impressed." I turned to come face to face with Crystal.
"Crystal, can you tell me what this is all about?" I asked her.
"Because you're just so precious to them. No matter what we do, All they care about is you." She hissed.
"So you both mad at me because they love me?" I could see the anger on her face. She pulled the gun back and hit me on the side of the face. I hit the ground and could feel some blood going down the side of my face.
"Move your ass in the house." She yelled out. I got back up and headed for the front door. Crystal opened the door and pushed me inside. Tiffany was sitting on an old sofa.
"I can't believe you came." She hissed out at me.
"And she came alone." Crystal said.
"Wheres my daughter?" I snapped out.
"You mean Marcus's daughter," Tiffany said. "You look good for just having a baby. I'm surprised you lived through being stated, but it's like you have a horseshoe up your ass."
"You can't tell me you're doing all this over Mason and Marcus. It's not my fault they don't love you." I said as I looked at both of them.
"Who the hell do you think you are Candace? You left them both and didn't say a word to them for seven years. I was there for Marcus in his dark time. He fell in love with me. I took care of his fucking mother for him, but the minute you show your ugly face. His whole world goes upside down. He just tossed me aside like I was trash. Well, I am sorry, but he will not get away with that. I'm going to show him what it feels like to lose someone, but in this case, lose the two most important things he has in this world."
"Your fucking crazy Tiffany. You're just going to kill me and my baby?" She started to laugh. Crystal was still behind me with a gun pointed at my head.
"Oh, I'm not going to kill you. At least not yet. I'm am going to torcher you and maybe mess up that pretty little face of yours. Maybe they won't love you so much if you're ugly." I just shook my head. She really was out of her mind. My only problem was Crystal. What did she have to gain out of all of this?
"Why are you even here Crystal? Mason never even gave you the time of day."
"So he never told you? I guess he didn't want to hurt your feelings. Mason and I were a thing for a while."
"Really?" I said.
"Yes, you fucking bitch. Why is that hard for you to believe?"
"I don't know, because I know he hated you." She yelled out and hit me again. I hit the floor once again. Tiffany stood up and walked over towards me. She bent down and grabbed my face.
"You just don't know how to shut the fuck up do you?" She said and smacked me across the face once again. I whipped the blood from my mouth.
"Wheres my baby!" I hollered out.
"Relax Candace, what do you think. That I'm just some monster? I wouldn't hurt her, but I am going to make you disappear and then Marcus will let me help him raise her and then fall back in love with me." Tiffany said.
"Yeah and Mason will come running back to me and we can be a family." I gave Crystal a funny look. I just knew at that moment I wasn't going to get out of here alive.
"Please Tiffany let me see her before you take her from me." Tiffany looked at Crystal. Crystal shrugged her shoulders.
"Fine, just to show you I'm not a complete bitch. I'll let you see your daughter." Tiffany started to walk off. Crystal turned to go sit and I took this moment to pull my gun out and point it at Tiffany. Before Crystal could react. I shot Tiffany and watched her body hit the floor. I heard another shot and felt a fire in my leg. I heard the front door slam open and then a ton of gunfire go off. I laid as close to the ground as I could and covered my head. I turned to see Crystal's body riddled with bullets. I saw the police and Mason and Marcus at the doorway. I jumped up and ran down the hallway to find my baby. Tiffany was still alive coughing on the ground with blood coming from her mouth. There were three doors in the small hallway. I pushed open the first one and in the middle of the room was a crib. I ran over to it and there she was fast asleep. My baby girl, I reached in and pulled her into my arms.
"Candace?" I heard Mason say. I turned to see him and Marcus run into the room. I looked around as Marcus took Alexa from my arms and that's when I saw him. A little boy was pushed against the corner of the room. He couldn't have been more than three or four years old. I reached out and touched Mason. He looked to where I was looking and his eyes got huge. I knew he was thinking the same thing I was thinking. I started to walk over towards him and he tried to back up even more.
"Wheres my mommy?" He said. His sandy blond hair and blue eyes looked just like Mason. My heart hurt because I don't think even Mason knew. I sat down on the bed the little boy was on.
"She is gone sweetheart, MY name is Candace, what's yours?" I could hear the police all over the cabin. I looked at Marcus and told him to keep them out of here for a moment.
"Jeffery Mason." He said in a small voice.
"Hello Jeffery, I promise you I won't hurt you," I said as I reached my arms out to him. He looked at me for a moment and he looked at Mason. He then slowly at first came to my arms. I hugged him as I saw small bruises on his arms. My heart fell apart as I realized what was going on. I stood up with him in my arms. Mason looked broken. I walked out of the room with Jeffery in my arms. Marcus had Alexa in his arms as we made our way out to eh cop cars. I was now limping as my leg was burning with pain.
"Candace, your hurt," Marcus said. As I sat in the ambulance getting ready to head back to the damn hospital. I watched them bring Tiffany out of the cabin. Fuck it, she was still alive. I watched them put her in a different ambulance. I looked at Jeffery and told him how Mason had his name and Jeffery smiled at Mason.
"I need you to go with Mason for a little while." He nodded at me and went into Mason's arms. I could see the tears falling down on Mason's face. Marcus came over to me and I kissed my baby head. "Please keep an eye on her until I'm home," I told Marcus.
"We will be right behind you, angel. She won't be far away." I smiled at him as he kissed my lips.
"Help Mason please," I said as they closed the door. Next thing I knew I woke up in the hospital. I looked over and Mason was sitting on the bench, playing with Jeffery, Marcus was sleeping with my baby in his arms. I looked down at my banged-up leg covered in bandages. I sighed as I told myself, I wasn't staying here for very long. "Mason?" My voice cracked. He shot his face up to mine. He handed a teddy bear over to Jeffery and then came to my side.
"I'm very upset with you," He said as he ran his hand down my face. His lips came to mine. I kissed him back.
"I know and I'm sorry, but I had no choice."
"I'm upset with you as well." His face fell.
"I know and I promise you. I'll tell you everything as soon as your out of here."
"Is he yours?" I asked Mason. He looked over at Jeffery.
"I know he is but were still waiting on the test results."
"He looks just like you Mason, he is beautiful." Mason looked back at me.
"If he is, will you accept him." I sat myself up the best I could.
"I already have Mason. Please bring me my daughter." Mason walked over and woke Marcus. He took Alexa from his arms and brought her over to me. I finally had my baby back and I wasn't going to let her go. I was able to breastfeed her and she took to it without any problems. I was grateful all this bullshit didn't take this away from me.
