"Any plans for the break?" Caroline asked. We were both walking out of the building after the students had left early. It was now our fall break and ready for this week long break that we were taking. Since we were teachers, we had to leave a little later to prepare some things for next week and make sure our classrooms were in order before we the custodians came in and cleaned up.
"Hm?" I inquired.
"I asked if you had any plans for the break," She answered.
"Well August wanted me to go to his cabin in the mountains with him and Mischa, but he decided to change the plans because Mischa wanted to go to their villa in Greece," I explained.
"Wow. Did he change the plans?" Caroline asked.
"Yeah he did. We're supposed to leave as soon as I get off of work," I informed.
"So that's why you got your passport renewed?" She questioned.
"Yep," I nodded, "It's best to have it at all costs."
"You're most definitely right," Caroline nodded.
"Enough about me. What are your plans for the break?" I asked.
"You're looking at him," She answered looking straight ahead. My eyes landed on Hayden, who was sure enough, waiting for Caroline with a smile on his face.
"That's why you didn't drive over here," I murmured.
"Nope. He wanted to pick me up so we could head on over to our little hiking trip," She responded.
"Hiking? I never took you one for hiking," I said.
"Really? I've always wanted to go but I've never had the time," She explained.
"Huh. I guess there's one thing I don't know about you," I remarked.
"I could say the same to you," She giggled, "You're going to a villa instead of a cabin for the week long break."
"I thought I told you that I wanted to go to Greece someday?" I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion.
"No," She shook her head.
"Weird," I said, "At least we know some new things about each other now."
"Mhm. That's what makes this friendship fun. Learning new and exciting things about each other," She smiled.
"It sure does," I beamed.
"Anyways, I'll see you later. Just make sure to call or FaceTime me when you get there," She said
"I will," I nodded.
"And please bring back a souvenir. I really want something from Greece," She begged.
"Okay, Caroline. I will," I laughed.
"For two women who have super hearing when it comes to their students, you both sure don't hear others when they call your names," Alex said coming up behind us.
"Whoops. Sorry, Alex," Caroline and I said in unison.
"Anyways, what are your plans for the break?" I asked.
"Well your cousin invited me on a trip with her to Florida that her friends dropped out of," He answered. Nadeija's friends dropped out of a trip? That's the most laughable excuse in the world considering how my cousin's friends would never ever do that. Will I tell Alex that? No. He'll learn of the truth someday.
"Ooh! That sounds like fun," Caroline smirked.
"Extremely fun," I added.
"Oh no. Don't you two start," Alex shook his head.
"What, Alex? We're just saying that the trip sounds fun," I feigned innocence.
"Yeah right," He rolled his eyes, "Anyways, what are you two doing for the break?"
"My plans are straight ahead," Caroline answered.
"And mine are to the left," I informed. Alex looked straight ahead and nodded, then to the left to see August standing with Mischa.
"Ohh now I get," He smirked down at us.
"Eww, Alex!" Caroline exclaimed.
"You're a sick man, Alex," I shook my head. He laughed at our reactions.
"I'll see you two ladies later. Have fun and be safe," He said.
"You too!" We responded.
"Why is he like that?" Caroline asked.
"Because he's Alex and he needs to use those same jokes towards my cousin," I answered.
"True, but he'll never do it," Caroline laughed.
"No he will not," I agreed.
"Alright. Goodbye for real this time," Caroline said.
"Bye," I laughed. We both went our separate ways to our significant others. August walked towards me and pecked me on the lips as he slipped my bag off my shoulder.
"Ready for an exciting week in Greece?" He asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I smiled. We each got into the car together and drove off to my home where I would pick up my bags and make sure Casper, who was staying at my place to house sit while I was away, was alright before I left. Since she did that for me, I told her that she could invite over her friends to sleepover if she wanted to as well as her boyfriend, who was no allowed to sleepover.
When we reached my house, I invited Mischa and August inside. As soon as I walked inside with those two, Casper was sitting on the couch watching television in a pair of spandex shorts and an oversized sweatshirt with a pair of socks on her feet. She was eating a bowl of cereal as she sat on the couch and was sitting criss cross.
"Wow. I'm gone for almost an entire day and you're already like this," I said.
"You act like I was supposed to be sleeping," She muttered.
"At this hour, yes," I replied.
"Well for your information, smart aleck, mom told me not to sleep in all day like a bum," She said.
"When I tell you that, you dismiss me, but when mom does you listen?" I asked.
"She's my mother. Of course I'd listen to her," She answered.
"This is my house, of course you listen to me," I countered.
"Touché," She grumbled.
"Anyways, this is August and his daughter Mischa," I said.
"Hey. I'm Casper," Casper smiled at the two guests as she got up.
"Hello," August said.
"Hi," Mischa shyly greeted.
"Wow, Emily. You sure know how to pick 'em," Casper remarked looking at August.
"Yes she certainly does," August laughed.
"So, Mr. August, what are your intentions with my sister?" Casper asked. Lord. Here she goes.
"My intentions are to get to know her more and more each and every single day as well make it my mission to make her smile," He answered.
"Hm. Do you plan on putting a ring on her finger?" Casper questioned.
"Casper!" I exclaimed.
"What? I'm asking serious questions here," She said. Mischa laughed from beside August.
"See? She gets it," Casper gestured to Mischa.
"Mischa, don't entertain her foolishness," I said.
"Whatever. Let's get back to the question at hand," Casper said.
"If, and hopefully so, I do want to put a ring on her finger as you put it, but that's a little more further into the future," August informed her. My heart swelled at that statement. He was thinking about possibly building a life with me a little further into the future, which I'm a little happy about.
"Aww. How cute," Casper smiled, "However cute gets you nowhere with me, sir. Just know that I approve of you dating my sister, but if you hurt her then bad things will happen."
"Can you not threaten people? The last guy I dated almost peed himself," I said.
"Girl, That was after Harmony and I tagged teamed him. Plus he deserved it so lay off," Casper waved me off.
"Why did they tag team him?" August asked.
"You don't want to know," Casper and I answered simultaneously.
"Just know that you don't want me or our sister Harmony joining forces," Casper said.
"And with that I'm going upstairs," I replied, "Don't threaten people while I'm gone please."
"You act like I do it all the time," Casper. All I could do was give her an incredulous look.
"Let me grab my stuff so we can go," I informed August.
"I'll come with you," He replied. August turned to Mischa.
"You'll be alright down here?" He asked.
"Yeah," She smiled, "She seems nice."
"Thanks, kid," Casper smiled.
"Alright. We'll be right down," August said.
"Okay, Dad," Mischa nodded. We both headed upstairs to my bedroom where my suitcase was lying open. I was already halfway through my packing and I needed a couple more things just in case.
"Your bedroom looks really good," He said.
"Thank you," I smiled, "I had a little help from my sisters and my mom to decorate it this way."
"Well you four did an excellent job," He replied.
"I'll tell them that you said that," I chuckled.
"You're not going to tell Casper now?" He asked.
"No way. Her head will get too big from compliments," I answered. He laughed.
"Sounds just like my brother," He said.
"He's the same way?" I asked.
"Yeah. A little," He answered, "It's kind of hard to talk to him when he gets that way."
"Oh I know the feeling. Casper doesn't come down from the high of being complimented," I giggled.
"Well I'm sure that she's deprived of them," August smiled.
"That may or may not be true," I said.
"Ah I see," He eyed me for a moment.
"What do you see?" I asked.
He shook his head, "Nothing. You kind of opened my eyes to a new fact about you."
"And that is?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"You deprive your sister of compliments," He answered.
"Oh now I'm the one depriving her?" I asked.
"Mhm. It's okay if you admit it, Emily," He joked.
"Whatever, August," I waved him off. He laughed and kissed my cheek. He sat down on the bed and watched me finish up packing for the trip.
"If you would have liked, we could have gone to our cabin in the mountains instead of Greece," August spoke up.
"I know, but going to Greece is just as exciting," I beamed, "Maybe during the summer we can go there together."
"If we do go to the cabin, it'll just be the two of us," He said.
"Are you trying to get me alone, Mr. Flores?" I asked. A smirk formed on his handsome features.
"Maybe, Miss King," He answered.
"That sounds like such a nice plan for the summer, Mr. Flores," I smiled.
"Hm. It does and I can hardly wait to be alone with you," He gave me a very suggestive look. That same look caused my panties to dampen.
"If you don't stop now, then we'll never make it to Greece," I said.
"Don't worry. There will be some time for us to be alone during our stay," He told me. This man doesn't know what he does to me. The way he's talking to me has me thinking that this is going to be one long and torturous trip for me.
"Emily! My friend Toni is here!" Casper called to me. Casper's voice broke me out of my little moment with August, which I was a little disappointed and relived was ending at the same time.
"I'll be back. Let me go greet her friend," I said.
"Alright. Take your time," He responded. I walked out the door feeling his burning gaze on me. Can this man please tone it down before I take him right then and there in my bedroom? I beg of you, Lord. Please have him tone it down a bit.
When I reached downstairs, Casper and her best friend since birth, Toni, were downstairs playing Uno with Mischa.
"Hey, Toni," I greeted.
"Hey, Em. How are you?" She greeted. She got up and hugged me tightly.
"I'm fine. How about you?" I smiled.
"I'm doing great. Thank you for letting me stay here at your home," She answered.
"No problem, Toni. You're always welcome, unlike home girl," I muttered.
"She's been kicked to the curb," Casper rolled her eyes.
"Good," Toni and I said in unison. Toni sat back down at the table and joined them.
"So what are your plans for tonight? Staying in or going out?" I asked.
"Going out ," Casper answered.
"Where are you going tonight?" I questioned.
"A couple of our friends invited us out to eat and go to the arcade later on around seven," Casper responded.
"Ohh Okay. Have fun and make sure to charge your phones," I said.
"We will," Toni and Casper responded in unison.
"Mischa, you doing alright with these two?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm having fun," Mischa replied.
"I'm glad to hear that," I smiled.
"Of course she would have fun with us. We're the coolest people she'll ever meet," Casper said.
"She's right. We're cooler than ice," Toni agreed. Mischa laughed at their antics while I just shook my head.
"Okay, Milli and Vanilli. Settle down," I rolled my eyes, "I'm going to finish packing."
"Okay," The three of them said. I headed back upstairs to find August still sitting on my bed.
"How is Mischa doing down there?" He asked.
"She's doing great. She seems to be having fun with my sister," I answered.
"I'm glad to hear that. Your sister seems like someone who knows how to have fun," He said.
"She is and that's one of the reasons why I love my sister," I smiled.
"That's sweet," He said.
"Thank you," I beamed, "Let me finish packing so we can roll."
"Wait. You forgot to pack something else," He told me.
"What?" I asked. He stood up and pulled me flush against his body before kissing me on the lips. This man is the definition of smooth and I like it very much. The kiss was so soft yet so passionate at the same time that my senses went into overdrive.
"That," He answered.
