Chapter 21

Gia’s POV

“Oh my gosh darling, this is so gorgeous.” Zac said holding my hand, while scanning the ring I was wearing. I smiled at him. I looked at it again, it is indeed gorgeous and I bet it cost a fortune.

“So you are finally engaged. I can’t believe things with Jayden and you happened real fast. But seriously darling I am so happy for you.” He walked closer to me and hugged me tightly.

“Bet that’s the magic of love.” He added and looked at me but his mood changed suddenly, when he noticed that I am not even paying attention. He stared at me for a long time as if reading what was on my mind.

“What?” I asked.

“What is happening to you? Why do you seem to be out of your mind?” He said frowning. “I know you very well, you don’t seem happy.”

“What do you mean? Of course I am happy.”

“Oh really? I don’t even see excitement in your eyes.”

“What are you saying? I am excited.”

“Oh Come on Gianna, what’s the matter? Tell me!” His arms crossed over his chest with an arch brow and patiently waiting for my response.

“I dreamt of Liam.” Zac rolled his eyes for hearing what I said.

“Are you fucking kidding me? You being like that because of a dream?”

“You don’t understand, it’s not just a dream, it’s Liam.”

“Oh, for goodness sake Gia.” Zac sit down next beside me and pat my shoulder.

“Alright, what is it that is bothering you? You know you can tell me babe.”

I was about to tell Zac everything, pertaining to the things that is making me confused. I want to tell him that I met Michael two days ago, about my dream that is confusing me because Liam is saying sorry and asking for forgiveness. But I restrained myself; maybe I should just keep everything this time. I know I can trust Zac, but I don’t want to make things more complicated. I will figure everything without the help of others, to avoid and prevent them from getting into trouble because of me. Who knows, maybe Michael is right, maybe my dad’s enemies are still here, looking for me.

I returned to the right mind-set, when Zac waved the keys in front of my face. I frowned and looked at him grinning at me.

“What is this?” I asked and get the keys from his hand.

“It’s yours now.” I frowned, wondering what those keys are for. Then I remember the bet.

“Oh my gosh! For real?” I asked Zac as if super shocked and amazed. “Are you fucking serious?” I added.

“I lost and you won, that’s so simple.” He said and arched an eyebrow before he gave me a cocky smile. I hugged him like super excited. I still can’t believe that he will give it to me. His house in Bahamas is what I have dreamed of, like it is really my dream house.

“You can do whatever you want with the house sweetheart.”

“I like how it is.” I said and hugged him tight again.

Instead of going to my unit, I went straight to Janna’s. I just want to check on her how is she really coping now. I knocked on her door and Ricky opened it for me.

“Gia, come in.” He said smiling face.

“Where’s Janna? How is she?” I asked.

“She’s in the shower; she’ll be out in a minute.”

“Alright, I just want to know if she’s fully recovered.” Ricky smiled at me and guaranteed that Janna is well taken care of.

“I cooked Janna’s favorite pasta and made salad, have dinner with us Gia.” Ricky added. I nodded, beside I am hungry. Then Janna went out from their room.

“Gia.” She walked closer to me and we hugged.

“How are you girl?” The smell of her lotion and perfume smelled all over the room. Plus I notice she’s wearing a dress.

“Baby, I invited Gia for dinner. Don’t let her go!” Ricky yelled at the kitchen while preparing the table.

Janna smiled and yelled him back. “Of course babe!”

“Wait! I think you two are having a dinner date, so I won’t bother you guys.”

Janna smiled at me and holds my hand, “Let’s go Gia.” I was hesitating but Janna’s tight grip in my hand is telling that she will not let me go. We entered the dinning and the smell of the foods make my stomach grumbled. The decoration is nice, with flowers and candle light.

“Are you sure guys? I’ll be interrupting your date.”

“You are never Gia.” Janna told me.

“Actually, we will really invite you today. We want to thank you for everything you did for Janna.” Ricky said.

“I’d like to thank you Gia, for taken care of me at the hospital.” Said Janna, who hugged me.

“Janna, it’s nothing compared to what you have done to me. For all those years, you’ve always been there for me. We are family right?” Then a tear fall down her cheek, I wiped the tear on her face.

“You are more than a family to me, you and Margaret is all I have got ever since I came here, because of you, I am not Gia now.” We hugged tightly and I broke the hug and said.

“Alright, enough with the drama. Maybe we can start eating now???” We all laugh and started digging the food. The rest of the day went well, we talked a lot and I was able to share to her everything that happened to me with Jayden, because of what happened to her, she was not updated on what’s going on with me and my career, of course I let her take a vacation, she needs more rest, I showed her my engagement ring.

“I am so happy for you Gia.” Janna said, we were in a sofa while her husband is doing the dishes.

“Tomorrow I will meet Jayden’s father.” I said while sipping my cup of coffee and looking at Janna she was fascinated.

“So when do you plan the wedding?”

“I don’t know yet, I still did not discuss this thing with Margaret.”

“You mean mo…. I mean Margaret still don’t know that you are engage?” Janna said.

“I think she knows about the engagement, maybe? We haven’t talked about it yet, we didn’t have the chance too, and you know she’s always busy.” Janna hold my hands.

“You know I am always here for you, whatever else happens.” She said and serious like she is going to cry again, I think after her miscarriage she’d become more emotional, and I understand that, but I am a little bit confused because I am not used to this kind of her drama I have known her as a jolly person, she always makes me laugh, well her and Zac are the clown in our group. I hold her hands back tightly and told her.

“You don’t have to worry about me; I know you are always with me guys.” I said and formed a sweet smile.

I spent a little more time with the couple before I head back to my own unit. I was sitting in front of my vanity mirror and combing my long hair, thinking of what will happen tomorrow. I think I am so ready to meet his father. I am excited, even though I don’t know where this apprehensive coming from.
