Flying free

After I drop octavia off I decide to head back to the bridge and it was dark, the stars were shining so bright tonight.

" tonight is the perfect night to fly, Alex." Baylor told me feeling the wind blow past us.

"How do I do that?" I asked him letting my wings out . Now that I've done it a few times it doesn't hurt as much as the first time.

" well first you run and once the wind catch flight under your wings flap them as hard as you can." He said

Okay I think and after a minute I just take off running and suddenly my wings were lifting me up and I flapped them and suddenly I was in the air. Passing the clouds and I glide myself to fly straight above them.

I sighed and I knew I could do this. I could deal with whatever going to happen with me, with my babygirl, and whatever the future may hold. I felt free more free then I've every felt in my life.

I never knew why my birth parents gave me up and I've always felt different from everyone else. When I was younger I used to get bullied a lot by the older kids maybe cause they could tell that I wasn't like them. Meeting Chris was one of the best day of my life. He saw me being bullied and stood up to me. Of course one of the older kids decide to push Chris for talking back not knowing Chris's older brother was standing by playground and he came and put them in there place. They never bullied me again after that.

As I'm flying I lose track of the time until it was dawn and I decide to find the biggest mountain and watch the sunrise. It was enchanting to see the world come alive beneath sun. Birds chirping away with one another-I've always wondered what birds talk about so early in morning-, flowers catching the early morning dew glistening because of the sun.

Once the sun was fully up I head to my car and drove home. I stopped at the light and looked at my phone.

π΅π‘Žπ‘π‘¦π‘”π‘–π‘Ÿπ‘™πŸ€€πŸ’•πŸ¦‹- I had a really good time yesterday. I hope to see you soon.

I smiled and texted her back

𝐴𝑙𝑒π‘₯β™₯️πŸ”₯πŸ’―- I had a great time as well babygirl. How about I pick you up for school tomorrow?

By the time I made it to the house she's texted back that she was okay with that. I walked in the house saw my mom. She was mixing something in a bowl. She's not really paying attention to me

" hey mom." I say cautiously cause I really don't know how she's going to react to the tattoos.

"boy what the hell is on your skin? That better not be permanent. Alexander Markus Steele when did you get that done?!" She yelled at me coming over to me putting the bowl down

" uhh ya mama they're real and I'm not sure how exactly I got them. they've been popping up in random places for years but I could hide them more now it's so spread out I can't hide any more." I say scratching the back of my neck while grabbing her hand. She put her head on my chest and wrapped her arms around me. I knew I had to tell her something. " mama I'm changing but I'm still me and I'll protect this family from what ever is coming. I promise." I whispered to her.

"Baby I knew when I found you that you were special and that you were going to be called for something greater then what I could provide." She said frowning pulling back from " come with me."

We went to the basement and she pulled out a box opened it up she pulled out my old blanket that had my name on it along with my old baby bracelet she smiled a little seeing them then she pulled out something else. A piece of paper with writing on it.

" when I found you I was so young and I wasn't ready to be mother but when I looked at you for the first time you smiled at me with those bright green eyes of yours and I knew. I found this letter also wrapped inside your blanket with you. It's address to you for when you got older. Here you go." She said handing it to me standing up kissing my head " I love you baby please be safe."

" I love you too mama." I said looking at the letter in my hand.
