The few weeks flew by with Georgia getting used to having Greyson or Troy around when she and Daisy were on their own. Jordan spent more time at his office dealing with the repercussions of Scott breaking the restraining order less than a week after they issued it. Georgia took Troy to D.C. with her to get her dress fitted. He pretended to be her best friend, offering suggestions.
“I think you should make your bust more pronounced. I know Jordan is a boob man.” Georgia tried not to laugh as the seamstress gave Troy a disapproving look.
“I think my dress is perfect Troy,” she remarked, winking at him. Troy chuckled and settled back to watch the seamstress work.
“Have you seen any more of Scott?” he asked after ten minutes of silence.
“No. Jordan has been vigilant keeping Daisy and me safe. I don’t like stress. I can’t seem to get anything written. I sit in my office and write, then erase and write again. Nothing is up to my normal standard,” she shared sighing, These past weeks Troy had become an excellent friend. He followed them home in his wolf form when she picked up Daisy, then he stayed to play until Jordan came home. Greyson stayed silent in the house, he would patrol around the outside and sit in the bushes as a lion waiting for Scott to make his move.
“Hmm, I wonder if Liam scared him off.”
“How? Liam is four.”
“I mean, Daisy is always surrounded by people. It is difficult to get to her without someone seeing. Even if you didn’t have Greyson or me she has someone with her all the time. Like you said she is four and Liam sticks with her like glue. He wouldn’t let anyone take her.”
“He barely speaks.”
“Doesn’t mean he can’t tell us if we need to know something is wrong,” Troy pointed out. Georgia shrugged, earning a glare from the seamstress. She held still after that and settled into quiet thoughts while she worked.
“You are done. Come back next week and I will have your dress ready for pickup. Do you need it steamed?”
“No. My wedding is in two weeks. I can steam it before on the day of my wedding,” Georgia answered, paying for the alterations. Troy drove her home. Tonight she would attend a party for Evelyn and Anderson. They would be getting married a few weeks after Georgia and Jordan’s set date.
“Jordan said for us to go straight to Roxie’s. The party for Evelyn and Anderson is starting, and he is there with Daisy,” Georgia announced halfway through their ride home. She’d just checked her phone.
“To Roxie’s, it is then,” Troy replied and drove on. Before they got to Roxie’s house Georgia’s phone rang. To her dismay it was Bert, they had postponed their court case because of an illness.
“What do you want Bert?” she demanded not caring Troy could hear.
“I want to talk about settlement again,” Bert replied, his normal blustery attitude absent from his voice.
“Oh?” she asked, digging through her purse for the notebook she always kept with her in case an idea came to her while she was out.
“I will pay you eighty percent of what you are asking.”
“What brought this about?” she asked, writing eighty percent in her notebook.
“Word got around the literary world about the lawsuit and I have several other clients demanding an explanation. I formally apologize for showing Shelley your idea, which gave her the idea for her new book. I will agree to you severing our partnership and payout eighty percent of what you were asking for.”
“Thank you, Bert. I will have my lawyer draw up the paperwork. You will have it on Monday. I expect to see everything signed and returned within forty-eight hours,” she replied.
“Bye Bert.” She hung up and gave Troy an enormous smile.
“I take it you won?” he asked, pulling into Roxie’s driveway. The place was packed with cars.
“I have to go tell Jordan!” she cried and jumped out of the car to find him. She found him by the grill where Xander was cooking steaks.
“Hi baby,” Jordan called, wrapping his arms around her and placing a kiss on her lips.
“Georgia, whatever you have done for Jordan has been amazing. This is the most relaxed I’ve seen him in years.
“She gave me a complete family,” Jordan answered, Georgia couldn’t help but blush at his words.
“Nonsense. Jordan is the one who gave me a family. He also helped me leave my agent. I received a call from Bert today. He will give us eighty percent of what we asked for. He also apologized,” she explained.
“Congratulations!” Xander cried, patting her on the shoulder with his free hand.
“When did this happen?” Jordan asked, kissing her lips.
“He called me when Troy and I were on our way here,” she replied, wiggling in his arms. Her excitement was seeping out and she couldn’t contain it. Bert was out of her life and White Valley Press was ready to publish the first book of her new series. They were working through the edits. Roxie offered to do her cover last time they saw each other at a girl’s night.
“I have to tell Caroline,” she told him, placing another kiss to his lips she rushed over to where Caroline stood with Ellie.
“Caroline, marvelous news!” she gushed, grabbing her sister’s hands.
“What?” Caroline asked, a sweet smile on her lips.
“Bert settled. He will give me eighty percent of what I asked for and formally apologized for letting Shelley see my idea,” she explained.
“Ooh, that is wonderful!” Caroline hugged her tight, Ellie gave her a hug too.
“That is fantastic. What are you going to do with the money?” Caroline inquired, handing her a soda from the cooler behind them.
“I am putting it away for a college fund for Daisy. I’m also thinking of using some of it to take Jordan on a honeymoon. That is if you will watch Daisy for us?” Georgia gave her sister a sidelong look.
“Of course I’ll take Daisy for the week. You and Jordan go enjoy a well-deserved honeymoon. Maybe even make me another niece or nephew,” Caroline teased. Georgia laughed and hugged her sister again.
“Jordan and I are waiting a bit. I want Daisy to know she isn’t going to be replaced.”
“I respect that, but she has been asking for her mom all day,” Caroline answered, pointing to Daisy coming out of the house with Liam right behind her. They were being chased by Peter and a young boy about ten, Georgia hadn’t met him.
“Who is that with them?”
“Adam. His dad is my brother-in-law Rob.” Ellie pointed to a handsome man with his brown hair up in a bun at the back of his head.
“They moved here last year. Rob is hunting for his mate,” Ellie explained.
“I hope he finds her.”
“I know he will. He opened his own graphic design company and has been swamped with work.”
“How are you doing? School is almost done for the year?” Georgia asked, turning the conversation to their lives. She didn’t want to make everything about her. She noticed Josie standing off to the side with Evelyn and Elizabeth. Ellie shared about her end of the year plans until Xander called everyone in to make plates. Georgia was determined not to keep the awkward air between her and Josie. She tapped her on the arm.
“Josie, can I talk with you for a minute?” Josie nodded, and the two stepped into the back of the yard.
“I wanted to make sure you know I don’t hate you and that I understand you were being protective over Jordan,” Georgia started. Suddenly Josie’s shoulders relaxed, and she gave her a relieved look.
“Rhett told me I shouldn’t have interfered at all,” Josie admitted.
“I understand your reasons. Jordan and I are mated so nothing will pull us apart. I’d like to be friends,” she said holding out a hand. Josie laughed and hugged her.
“Thanks for being understanding. I promise not to interfere with anything else.”
“Good, now let’s eat. I am starving.” Hooking her arm in Josie’s the two walked over to the buffet set up.
The rest of the evening Georgia moved around the groups of people getting to know others in town. Evelyn and Anderson were both sweet, and they let her hold Jonah. He was so tiny; she marveled at him.
“Evelyn, he is beautiful,” she gushed, looking down at the baby in her arms. Her ovaries clenched with need.
“Aunt Georgia?” Daisy called, coming over to look at the baby.
“Isn’t he cute?” she asked, showing Daisy the baby.
“Do I get one?” Daisy asked, and Georgia paused. Jordan was sitting next to her, he choked on his beer.
“One what?” Jordan asked, wiping his face with a napkin.
“A baby brother?” Daisy asked, pointing to Jonah.
“Do you want one?” Georgia asked Daisy nodded.
“Well, I think that is something Uncle Jordan and I have to talk about,” she answered, tucking a strand of hair behind Daisy’s ear.
“I want a brother though, not a sister,” Daisy replied, making all the adults listening to the conversation chuckle.
“That isn’t something we can control,” Jordan explained with a smirk. Daisy frowned but gently touched Jonah’s toes.
“Okay. I am going to play with Liam in the playroom,” Daisy announced and ran off. Georgia handed Jonah back to Evelyn and leaned into Jordan’s arms.
“Nice to know she isn’t upset about the idea of a baby,” Jordan murmured in her ear. Georgia nodded, but she wasn’t sure she was ready to be pregnant just yet.
“I think we should wait until we are married at least,” she remarked, he nodded his agreement kissing her temple.
Soon it was time for them to head home. It took ten minutes to get Daisy to clean up the playroom with Liam’s help before they could head home. She fell asleep on their way home with little fuss. Jordan carried her to bed and came back to her sitting on the bed half undressed.
“You okay?” he asked, she shrugged.
“How long can we keep this up with the bodyguards? Do we do it every time Scott threatens our lives?” she wanted to know, laying back on the bed.
“I honestly don’t know. I hope Scott would work on staying sober. Unfortunately, I am not hopeful.”
“Will it come down to you fighting Scott?”
“I want to tell you no, but I don’t know.” He laid down next to her, his hand resting on her stomach. She rolled onto her side and looked into his captivating eyes.
“If it comes down to you and Scott, I want you to come out alive. Daisy and I need you.” Her lips connected to his, she needed to feel his body pressed against hers. Clothing was removed and hands wandered until they were both naked, their skin flushed with desire.
“I love looking at you,” she whispered, and he smirked.
“I enjoy looking at you too. You do not understand what your curves do to me Georgia.” He grabbed her and kissed her, his tongue sliding in to mate with hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist, and tugged.
“Baby, let me get protection, I know you aren’t ready for a baby,” he told her, reaching for the bedside table. She released him and watched as he grabbed a condom from the drawer.
“Let me,” Georgia said reaching for the condom and tearing open the package. She slid it slowly down the length of his steel hard erection, marveling at how amazing he felt in her hands.
“Baby, your hands are like magic,” he moaned, leaning down to kiss her again. She kissed him back and lay down on the bed. He leaned over her and slipped his tongue into her mouth. She parted her legs and felt his cock sitting at the entrance of her core. He pushed the tip in making her gasp, he felt huge still.
“I’ll take it slow my love, I know you will need time to get used to me.” His voice was strained as he slowly pushed into her an inch at a time. By the time he was fully settled inside of her, she was burning for him to move. Georgia hooked one leg over his leg, which drove him deeper inside.
“Oh, Georgia!” he gasped, and she moved her hips. Taking the hint, he drove into her at a steady pace. She matched his rhythm, meeting his hips with each thrust, his pelvis connecting with her clit.
“I will not break,” she told him, digging her fingers into his arms. Thankfully, he sped until it was all she could do but hold on as her orgasm dove through her body, making her jerk in his arms. Georgia could feel the walls of her core pulse around his manhood. Three more thrusts and Jordan grunted, grabbing her thighs as he found his own climax.
Rolling to the side Jordan lay on his back breathing heavily. Georgia curled into his arms and let sleep pull her under. The stress of Scott stalking them, catching up with her.
