I was a man on a mission.
I had to prove to Oaklynn that we could have a normal relationship, despite my celebrity status. It would be difficult but not entirely impossible. If I played my cards right I would have convinced her by the end of the week, before she went back to New York.
Last night was so surreal. I still can’t believe that we slept on the same bed. Having her hair splayed all over my chest as it teased my face, her arms around my waist, hearing her even breathing and even her drool all over my chest-I wouldn’t change a thing.
I could have stolen a few kisses from her here and there, maybe even taken it further, but we were both so wasted I couldn’t take advantage of her like that. When and if anything happened between us, I’d prefer it if we were both sober enough not to have regrets or excuses for our behavior.
I really didn’t want to drag her out of bed so we could go workout but I just... I knew if we stayed indoors a second longer then I wasn’t going to be able to keep my hands or lips to myself.
I’m a hot blooded male and hardly a saint. Far from it actually.
But being around Oaklynn made me feel some type of way. I wanted to be with her line all the time.
After we breakfasted in my suite, I enticed her to make use of the hot tub and she didn’t need much convincing.
I was taking her on a tour of the city and then a picnic at a secluded area, by some lake. I had arranged for a boat ride and hoped she would like that too.
Mason had Mel on lock and was just waiting for me to give him the greenlight, when it was time to bring her back. I knew there was a reason he was my best friend since kindergarten.
I had taken a shower and was waiting in the sitting room, while my kitten soaked her aching body in the tub. I loved having her here with me, it felt so right. I was tempted to have all her stuff moved here but baby steps and all that right?
Oaklynn’s phone buzzed on the coffee table and me being the curious person that I am, I sneaked a peek. Curiosity killed the cat you might say? I say satisfaction brought it back. Besides, I had to check, it could be Tristan trying to win my girl back and we couldn’t have that right?
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Hailey’s name. Now that’s one person I needed to get in my corner.
Hailey started screaming as soon as I pressed the answer.
“You sly hussy, you marked Kylo’s pecs! Omg! Give me deets?! This thirsty hoe needs deets, like now!”
I laughed and cleared my throat.
“Hi Hailey, this is Kylo.”
“Oh my gosh! Kylo?! I’m so sorry-this is so embarrassing.. You didn’t hear anything right?! Even if you did just say you didn’t and then we can forget this conversation ever happened...I’m so-gosh this is embarrassing...”
I chuckled at her mortified rant and did my best to allay her shame.
“Hailey, I think you and I are going to get along just fine. And if it helps I didn’t hear anything...but then again if you need deets about my markings Id be more than happy to feel you in...”
“Taking a long, relaxing soak in the hot tub. We went for a run earlier so she he might be a while...
“Then what are you waiting for handsome head? Spill.”
I spent close to twenty minutes being grilled by Hailey. What I liked about her is that she wasn’t fangirling or gushing, she talked to me like I was just a regular guy. Like I was a real person. So after assuring her that my intentions towards her best friend were noble and promising to tell Lynn to call her back asap, she rang off.
I was about to put her phone back on the table, when another call came through.
It was none other than Tristan.
I had spoken to Lynn about him and she assured me they were done. I kinda hinted that he blatantly told me that he was still her boyfriend without blowing my cover, and she was livid. She promised to have some strong words with her ex.
So I think my next move was justified. It’s payback time.
“Oaklynn, where have you been? I’ve been trying to get a hold-”
“Hi. Oaklynn is relaxing in the hot tub but I can go give her the phone if you really need to talk to her.”
I could feel his scowl through the phone. “And you are?”
“Oh, excuse my bad manners... It’s Ren.” I replied with a self-satisfied smirk.
“You’re with her in Brussels?”
“Yes. In my hotel room specifically.”
“I thought she was there to see Kylo King.”
“Can you get her to call me?”
“Same way you got her to call me?”
“Oaklynn is mine.”
“And yet here we are...” I replied in a humorless tone.
“You’re just a rebound.” He said with undisguised malice.
“Then I accept.”
“Forget it. I’ll call her back later.”
“You do that.”
I sank back onto the sofa and smiled- revenge is sweeter than I imagined.
Weeknd’s I Feel it Coming was next on my playlist and I turned up the volume and whistled along as I walked over to the bar to fix myself a drink.
“Someone’s in a good mood ” Oaklynn giggled as she watched me grooving along to the song.
I put my glass down and took her hand and she took the hint as her lithe body moved with mine.
“Replay?” she quirked an eyebrow. “You’re really feeling the song aren’t you?”
“How can I not? It speaks to my heart,” I put my hands on her jean-clad hips and stared deep into those jade eyes. “It’s kinda what I’d want to say to you.”
Her lashes fluttered and the cute blush. that was purely Oaklynn Turner, decorated her face.
“You’re really cute babe,” I laughed.
“I bet you say that to all the girls.”
“Only to my little sister.”
“You really know how to make a girl feel special Kylo King,” she tilted her head and grinned.
“I know,” I winked and kissed her forehead. “We better get going. We’ve got so much to do and so little time...”
“We are we going?”
