Life changes

Lana stepped out of the hot shower on shaky legs. It was mid-January and she and Dylan were vacationing in Aspen and they had just gotten back from a day of snowboarding. As if her legs weren’t tired enough from being out in the snow, Dylan had taken her roughly from behind in the shower. As much as she enjoyed it, her legs were now so fatigued she couldn’t wait to sit down and relax over dinner. They were sharing a rental house with Katie and Mark and she was grateful that they had each taken large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on opposite ends of the hours. They had been there for less than 24 hours and Dylan had already had her multiple times.

After drying off, pulling her hair back into a relaxed bun, putting on some light makeup she stepped into the bedroom and reached for her underwear on the pile of clothes that she had set on the bed. They were going out to dinner with Mark and Katie at one of the local restaurants and she had already decided that comfy and warm was the way she was going to go. She slipped her nude colored lace panties on along with the matching bra, then pulled on her dark blue stretch skinny jeans and a white, fitted, cashmere sweater. She finished her outfit with a long gold-chain necklace that had a black flower pendant hanging from it and slipped on a beige infinity scarf. She pulled on a pair of brown mid-calf boots and took one last look in the mirror, satisfied with the look and comfortable enough for the evening. Dylan stepped back into the bedroom from the hallway in a pair of washed-out looking dark jeans and a grey sweater, finished with worn looking, dark brown combat-style boots. He took Lana’s hand in his and held it to the side as he looked her up and down with a smirk.

“Damn, my fiancée is hot,” he licked his lips as he looked her in the eye.

“She’s also exhausted and hungry, so let’s not forget she has other needs besides sexual satisfaction,” she replied with a small laugh.

“Are you sure about that?” He teased.

“Positive,” she smiled. He slipped his arms around her waist, pulling her into him as she wrapped his arms around her neck. “Love you,” she whispered softly before pressing her lips to his.

“Love you, too, mi amor,” he whispered back and kissed her softly again. “Mark and Katie are downstairs, but I have something for you first,” he hinted with a smile.

He pressed his lips to hers once more before moving away from her and going over to his bag. He came back with a small black box, opening it up and pulling the ring out from inside of it before tossing the box on the bed. He took her left hand and slipped the ring onto her finger. Lana let out a small gasp as she saw the details of the ring for the first time. She guessed it was nearly two carats between the large center diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds and the diamonds that were inlayed down the sides of the band. She was overwhelmed with emotions as it hit her that it was all real, and she teared up a bit.

“Dylan,” she breathed, nearly speechless. “This is....” She paused as she looked down at the ring again and made a strange face. “I love it, but you really didn’t have to do this,” she managed to get out.

“Well, I love you, and I want everyone to know it,” he laughed. “Look at me,” he said softly as he tilted her chin up to meet her eyes with his. “You are the most loving, talented, driven, and not to mention, beautiful person I’ve ever met. I know it’s terribly cliché, but you had me at ‘hello.’ The love we have for each other is something that some people never get to experience throughout their lives. I can’t wait for the day that I’m at the altar, watching you walk towards me in your wedding dress, and for the days that you’re pregnant with my children.”

Lana smiled widely as a tear slipped from her eye and Dylan brushed it away with his thumb. She kissed him deeply as he pulled her back into his arms and poured all of his emotions into the kiss. They were totally oblivious to anything else around them until Mark knocked loudly on the door. They pulled away from the kiss, both of them smiling from ear to ear.

“If you guys aren’t coming out for a while, let me know so we can at least go eat dinner,” Mark called through the door.

“We’re coming down now,” Dylan called back as Lana rolled her eyes with a soft laugh.

Dylan went over to the door and pulled it open, grabbing his and Lana’s jackets out of the closet as she quickly peeked at her reflection in the mirror and made sure her makeup was still okay. She silently thanked the lord that her mascara was waterproof before taking Dylan’s hand as he led her through the house and down the stairs. He helped her slip her jacket on before the four of them headed out to the car. Lana and Katie slid into the back seat of the SUV they had rented, and Katie shrieked as the guys climbed into the front.

“I told you he was going to put a ring on it!” Katie squealed as she jumped across the seat and hugged Lana tightly. Mark looked at the girls through the rear-view mirror with a smirk before looking over at Dylan.

“Congrats, dude,” Mark smiled.

“Thanks, man,” Dylan smiled back, laughing and turning to glance at the girls when Katie squealed again.

“She needs to breathe, babe,” Mark laughed as his wife continued to smother Lana as she hugged her tightly. Katie pulled away and the girls grinned at each other as they buckled their seatbelts. Mark rolled his eyes as he turned on the car and put it in gear.

After having a nice dinner, they stopped at a local lounge for a couple of drinks before they headed back to the house for the night. Each couple headed to their respective bedrooms for the night and Lana headed for the bathroom to brush her teeth. Dylan did the same and joined her in the bedroom as she was slipping out of her clothes. She was down to just her underwear and reached for her pajamas on the dresser. Dylan lightly grabbed her hand and smiled.

She dropped her hand and he stripped down to his boxers before throwing the blankets back on the bed. She reached to shut off the light before they both climbed in, and he moved up behind her as she laid on her side. He wrapped his arm snuggly around her after brushing her hair to the side, then trailed kisses from her neck across her shoulder. He cupped one of her breasts in his hand and brushed his thumb across her nipple.

“Get some sleep if you’re tired, mi amor. I just wanted easy access for when the mood strikes,” Dylan teased.

“The mood is constant with you,” she joked back.

“Only since I’ve been with you,” he smiled against her hair.

The week went by quickly, with a majority of their time spent either skiing or snowboarding and the rest of their time being spent by exploring and trying out new restaurants or clubs. Lana and Katie had managed to escape being with the guys for a day and went to the spa while Dylan and Mark went back out on the slopes. They boarded their return flight around 10:30 on a Friday morning, and all of them were well-rested after spending their last day relaxing. They were seated in opposite areas of the plane due to the flight being so full. Lana and Dylan were two-thirds of the way back while Mark and Katie were closer to the front. Once the plane took off and reached cruising altitude, Lana took the opportunity to use the restroom.

She had to wait behind another person, but thankfully they were quick with their business. She quickly did what she had to do and washed her hands before unlocking the door. As soon as the door opened, she was pushed back in by Dylan as he joined her in the tiny bathroom. She looked up at him like he was insane. He tangled his hand in the back of her hair and kissed her hard on the mouth.

“What are you doing, Dylan?” She managed to get out between his hungry kisses.

“What do you think, Babe?” He smirked as he slipped his hand into the front of her yoga pants and under her silky undergarment. “We’re joining the mile-high club.”

“Have you lost your mind?!” She spat quietly.

“Probably, but that’s irrelevant,” he smiled as he used his free hand to unbuckle his belt and open his jeans.

Lana tried desperately to fight him off, but she struggled less and less as he worked a finger inside of her and discovered that despite what she was saying she was still very turned on by the idea. He slipped a second finger inside of her and she gasped as he started thrusting them in and out, then moved them to her sensitive clit and started rubbing hard. Her eyes rolled back in her head and he caught her lips in another fiery kiss. He rubbed her faster and she let out a soft moan.

“Shh, you’re going to get us caught,” he whispered, sliding his jeans down just far enough to be able to get the job done. “Turn around and lean forward on the sink, if you don’t stay quiet, I won’t let you come,” he teased softly before nibbling at her earlobe for a moment.
Lana did as he was told and leaned forward just enough to give Dylan the access he needed. He guided himself into her and threw his head back, staying still for a moment so he didn’t lose it already. She was bent just at the angle that she was incredibly tight, and he could have easily unraveled right then and there if he would let himself do so. He reached between her thighs and started to rub her fast and hard again. He knew he wouldn’t last long, and he wanted her to be there with him when he reached nirvana.

She braced herself as Dylan started to slowly thrust against her. The feeling of being filled with him making her want him to take her fast and hard. He was already trembling as he tried to fight off his orgasm, so she knew she had to let him be in control. He shoved in as deep as he could, and he continued to rub her, trying to get her off before he did. As her pleasure crept closer to the edge, she pushed back against him and ground down onto him, wanting more. As she felt the familiar sensation building up inside of her, she bit down on the arm of her sweatshirt to stay quiet.

“Fuck, I’m going to come,” she rushed out in a hushed voice.

Dylan started thrusting faster and deeper, rubbing her until her orgasm began to rip through her body. As she tensed, he grabbed both of her hips and started to plow into her as fast and hard as he could manage in the small space. Before she could come down from her high, he was right there with her, his body trembling as he pulsed inside of her and buried his face into the back of her shoulder to keep quiet. They took a minute to gain their bearings before he slipped out of her. Her body jerked with aftershocks of pleasure and he moved her hair to the side as his lips went to her neck and he tried to catch his breath.

“That was even better than I had planned,” he whispered with a soft laugh, and she let out a small laugh as well. “I’m going to be hard again by the time we get home, knowing that you’re so wet from me coming inside of you,” he added between kisses.

“I guess it’s a good thing we’ll have the house to ourselves tonight, then. Isn’t it?” She smirked before turning to kiss him.

They shared a few more kisses before straightening out their clothes and Lana made a quick exit while Dylan stayed back for a few more minutes. What went on had been relatively unnoticed, but she did see one or two people staring at her when she returned to her seat. Dylan took his seat next to her a few minutes later, picking right back up with the book he had been reading like nothing even happened. She looked over at him and rolled her eyes, and he looked up at her from his book, flashing his charming smile.

The next few months were spent with Dylan promoting his book, and Lana filling her schedule with shoots for her photography line and doing photography sessions under private contracts. Dylan had done a book tour throughout the US and was home for a few days before leaving for a short book tour in Europe. Lana and Natalia were going to be travelling with him in Europe since it was only about ten days long. Natalia had grown increasingly more attached to Lana and was spending every possible minute with Dylan. Dylan and Lana suspected that there were issues going on at her mother’s house, but they couldn’t get her to open up to them.

After a day of feeling a bit under the weather, Lana called it an early night and headed to bed. Dylan stayed downstairs with Natalia who had been attached to his hip since he had gotten home two days before. Natalia had gone into the kitchen to get a drink, and when she came back she sat down next to Dylan and curled up to him. He was slouched down, and she rested her head on his shoulder and draped her arm over his stomach. He pressed his lips to her forehead, wrapping his arms around her as she hugged herself to him.

“What’s wrong, Baby?” He asked softly, and she turned her head to look up at him. “What’s on your mind?”

“I want to come live with you and Lana,” she said softly as her eyes welled up with tears. “I hate it at Mom’s house,” she added.

“Alright,” he brushed her bangs out of her eyes. “You can move in with us full-time if you want,” he assured her, and she hugged herself to him again. “Do you want to talk about what’s going on?”

“I don’t know,” she shrugged. “I just feel like she doesn’t care about me anymore. Whenever she’s home, she’s spending time with Kris. She barely makes homecooked meals anymore, I usually end up eating something frozen, or Kris will order take-out. I spend most of my time in my room when I’m home because I feel like they don’t want me there.”

“Well,” Dylan sighed, “as much as your mother and I have our differences, I’m sure she cares about you, even if she is too wrapped up in her personal life right now to show it. Regardless, if you would rather live here, we would be happy to have you here with us.”

“Are you sure Lana is okay with it?” She looked up at him again with a small smile.

“Positive. I kind of saw this coming and we’ve already talked about it,” he smiled.

“Wait,” her smile fell, “how do I tell Mom?”

“We’ll call her in the morning and ask her to come over, so we can talk. The three of us will sit down and I’ll help you tell her. Does that sound good?”

“I guess,” she nodded.

Dylan tightened his arms around her again and pressed another kiss to her forehead. He hated seeing his daughter this conflicted. He and Lana had talked about her moving in a lot over the last few months because they could tell that something had been upsetting her and they had a suspicion that it had something to do with her mom. He knew Mari was going to hit the ceiling, but he hoped that she would at least be graceful enough to not do it in front of Natalia. He tried not to stress out about the conversation that night, there was nothing he could do about it. He stayed up and watched a movie with Natalia before she went to bed, then straightened up the downstairs before heading up to join Lana in bed.

The next afternoon he found himself answering the door when Mari showed up. He could tell she wasn’t happy with the idea of the little sit down, but she was going to have to get over it. He refrained from any smartass remarks or giving her any bullshit. He couldn’t stand her, but he really didn’t want to make this any harder for her than he knew it would be. Regardless of how self-absorbed she was and how wrapped up she was in her relationship, he knew that Natalia moving out of her place was going to sting. He led her into the kitchen where Natalia was sitting at the table, picking at her nails, and he pulled a chair out for Mari across from their daughter before going back to sit next to Nat.

“So, what’s this all about?” Mari asked softly. Dylan looked over at Nat and gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.

“Go ahead, Baby,” he encouraged her. “Tell her what you decided.”

“Um,” Nat started before clearing her throat, “I’ve been thinking about it, and I want to move in with Dad,” she said softly.

“Why?” Mari asked, almost in shock. “What happened?”

“I just like it here better,” Natalia shrugged.

“What do you mean?” Mari spat, on the verge of anger. Natalia started crying and Dylan cleared his throat.

“She feels like she’s kind of left out,” he said for her. “Right, Nat?” He questioned, and Natalia nodded.

“When I’m here I feel like we’re a family,” Natalia explained. “When I’m at your house I feel like it would be easier for you if I wasn’t around all the time.”

“I’m so sorry, Nat. I didn’t mean to make you feel that way,” Mari tried to reason, but her tone was still angry, not sympathetic.

“Nat, why don’t you go out by the pool?” Dylan suggested and looked up at him. “It’s alright, go ahead. I’ll finish talking to your mom,” he assured her.

Natalia stood up and Mari stood and went over to kiss her on the top of her head. She told her she loved her, and Natalia just nodded before pulling away and doing as Dylan had suggested. Mari sat down as her eyes welled up with tears. Dylan went out to the living room and grabbed the box of tissues off of one of the end tables and brought them back in. He set the box on the table and then sat down at the end, cattycornered to Mari. She grabbed a tissue and dabbed at her eyes. He inhaled deeply, letting out a long sigh.

“Just for the record, she made this decision herself. I’ve always told her that I wanted her to do what would make her happy, and the most I’ve ever said about her moving in here was that my door was always open,” he explained.

“Shut up, Dylan. Don’t lie to me,” Mari glared at him. “You’ve wanted her with you full time for years, it just works out now because you have that little tart living with you.”

“Don’t start with me. I’ve watched you cycle through so many men I lost count and I never used that against you. Lana is going to be my wife, and I suggest that you learn how to live with it. Otherwise, the next five or six years is going to be unbearable for both of us,” he glared back.

“Oh, come on Dylan. We both know that the only reason you’re with her is because you planned on taking Natalia from me and the court will side with you if you’re married,” she stood and grabbed her purse off of the table. Dylan stood up and moved so that he was face to face with her.

“If you really believe that, you’re completely delusional. If all I wanted was someone to call my wife, I could have done that years ago,” he growled. “That is exactly why Natalia wants to be here. She wants to be part of something, not feel like she’s a nuisance. She needs parents, not two adults who are acting like teenagers and have no concept of responsibility.”

“Go to Hell,” Mari raised her voice. “I’ll see you in court.”

“You sure will,” he scoffed. “Your free ride ends now, Mari. You can kiss that child support goodbye. It’s not like Natalia saw most of it anyway.”

Mari took a step back and slapped him hard across the face, staring at him for a brief moment before turning and walking back through the house. Lana had just started to descend the stairs after hearing all of the commotion and Mari looked up at her with a face of disgust before heading out the door. The front door slammed, and Lana quickly made her way down the rest of the steps and went into the kitchen. She found Dylan rummaging through the freezer and promptly pulling out a bag of frozen peas and holding it to his face. He turned around and faced Lana who looked at him with concern.

“I’m fine, she hits like a girl,” Dylan forced a small smile.

“I’m guessing that went about as good as we thought it would, huh?” Lana smirked, and he nodded. “Hopefully she calms down over time.”

“I’m not counting on it, but that would be nice,” he agreed. Lana leaned in and pressed her lips to the cheek that didn’t have a bag of frozen vegetables held to it.
