Chapter three

I watched as she turned white, I didn't know what was coming over me. I stayed calm but in my mind, I was kicking myself in the sheen. Bianca slumped back into the chair.

"But what about your fianceè?" She asked.

"Anna and I were never getting married. It was just for show and she's into women." I said, still watching her.

She was silent for a really long time. I thought she was going to throw the paper on my face and tell me to shove it but she didn't. She took a pen and began the process. Until the last page. A side of me was sad for this but a bigger part of me was happy and that bigger part won. I took the paper and put it into my briefcase.

"I will get this to the lawyer and he can get this paper finalized and then we will get married. Any also get ready because on Saturday, we will go meet my parents." I said as I walked out, hiding my smile as she froze. This was really going to be fun.

Before I left, I called my sister to help Bianca in shopping. I wasn't taking any chance of leaving her alone until Harsh was put in jail. I couldn't believe that I was going to finally get married. Something my parents couldn't even do even if they tried. I was older than my sister Janice and could not lie that I was jealous of her lanky husband, Howell and two kids, Jodie and Kevin. She was the best. She answered on the first ring.

"Hey Janice, how are you?" I asked as she picked up the phone.

"Better than okay. Howell just took the kids to the park, so I have a free time to myself for now. What's up?" She asked

"I need your help. I need you to help me go shopping with someone."

"Neon, I love you, but I told you this before, I am never going shopping with any of you latest pencil project bitch." She told me.

I scoffed, I had never asked her to go shopping with any of the girls I slept with... Okay maybe it was just one time but only because she had told me she had gotten pregnant for me. But apparently, she had her other jobs that brought her to my house with another man's child.

"No! This is different. I want you to find a full wardrobe for her though," I inhaled deeply. "And my son." There was silence. A long one that had me thinking that the line was cut.

"You have a son?" She asked calmly.

"Yes" I told her

"How old?"

"Four years" I heard her take a sharp intake of breath.

"I'll be there in an hour." She told me

"Thanks Jan. I promise you, you will love her."

"Let's hope so too." She told me finally.

We chatted a little bit before she cut the call to get ready to go shopping with my mysterious woman. I hadn't told her that we were getting married and I just prayed silently that she would love Bianca... For my son that is.

I sat down on the bed. I just agreed to marry Neon Green. The world's national husband. The asshole Playboy. We were meeting his parents on Saturday. I checked the calendar on the side table. This was crazy. I was still regaining from yesterday's encounter and he wanted me to meet his parents the day after tomorrow. I walked round the room. What was I going to wear. I didn't bring anything with me. I was thinking so hard that I did not hear the door open.

"You know, if we are going out, you really need to be dressed properly. Neon's cloth isn't the start of that. I don't think I would like to be walking around with you in Neon's sweatshirt." A lady told me with her arms folded

"Um... Who...who are you?" I asked. I didn't know that Neon had a lady in the house. I looked at her, she didn't look like the super model that I had seen in newspapers. The one that Neon was engaged with. What was I thinking accepting his idea of marriage?!

"Ugh... He can really be forgetful sometimes but at least when it is important, he remembers clearly." She said then smiled at me. "I'm Janice but you can call me Jan."

I'm Bianca." I told her

We were silent for sometime before she broke that silence. Well one thing was certain, she was really chatty.

"So Bianca?" She called. " I heard you had a son for Neon. Four years ago."

"Um... Yes. But it was not intentional, really!" I smiled as I thought about my little boy. "I have no regrets though. I really do love my son."

"And trust me dear, I know that feeling." She told me with a smile on her face.

"May I ask, if it's not much, what your relationship is with Neon?" I asked Janice. I doubt that she was any of his lay. I mean, she was asking me about my son, smiling and being proud. If I were stealing her man, she would have been on my neck, ready to kill me and not telling me to get ready so we could go shopping.

"Oh..." She watched me closely. Then her eyes widened when she calculated what I was thinking. "Oh! Oh my God!" She exclaimed horrifically. "No! No, no, no! Don't even think that! I'm his sister, Eww!. I have a husband and two kids for sakes!" I blushed at the way my eyes revealed my feelings outright.

"I'm sorry" I whispered softly.

"Look, there is no need to be sorry, shy. But it's gross. We practically look alike. How can you think that?!" She shook her head. "Okay let's get ready. I think my old clothes are inside my room. I lived here for sometime before I met Howell. And trust me. It was the best day of my life... Well aside from my wedding and kids." She said as she walked out of the room. I followed. She chatted about her little kids and husband. Even the funny ones. I laughed at her jokes. She was really fun to be with. I had my share of telling my story about Michealo. The driver took us to a really big boutique not far from the house. We talked a lot about our children. She chose lots of clothes for I and Mikey. She didn't let me touch the price tags but when I had the opportunity to touch one, my eyes almost popped out of my head.

"Jan! I can't afford this!" I told her as she dropped another dress and shoe. "The price of one dress alone is my salary for a year. Hypothetically speaking."

"Don't worry about it." She said as she laughed at my obvious fear of lack of money. "I have one of Neon's cards." She told me as she gave the card to the cashier. She told the cashier where to deliver the dresses before she turned back to me. She smiled asking what I wanted to do next.

"I have not visited Van since yesterday night. Could we go to the hospital? Please?." I asked with hope. Vanessa was shot and I still felt guilty.

"Sure. We could get some gifts on the way... And honestly, I really need new friends." She told me as we walked out of the boutique. I told her about how I met Van and why she was in the hospital.

When we got there, I asked the nurse on the front desk of Vanessa and after a little confirmation from Van, she told us the room number. We got there. She was watching a movie but when she turned and saw me, she was ready to get up. I rushed to her side, stopping her from getting up. Van really worries a lot. Much like I do. See? Sisters.

"What are you doing?!" She almost gave me a heart attack.

"I'm not made of glass, Anca. I can walk.'sides I was shot in the shoulder and not on my leg." She said as she rolled her eyes. "And I just saw Mikey on the news with that man that saved us last night. You know you are supposed to not leave a child with strangers? Or are you not telling me something that I should know?" She scolded.

I hesitated. "That's his dad." I told her. It was hard revealing that fact. I had told her the name of the guy I slept with four years ago.

She hadn't talked for a long time but when she did, it was on top of her lungs. The whole hospital must have heard her.

"That's the Neon Green you were talking about?!" The surprise was all over her face.

"Can you keep it down!" I shushed her.

"That's the Neon Green?!" She whisper yelled this time.

" Yes! Shh!" I tried shushing her again.

Janice came running in with a doctor at her side. After telling the doctor that it was a false alarm, he left. Janice walked to us. She must have thought something serious was happening. Well, that's just the dramatic Vanessa I see everyday.

"Are you alright, Vanessa?" Janice asked

"Who is she?" Van asked me. That's the 'I don't talk to strangers Vanessa' behavior.

"Van meet Janice, Neon's sister." I told her and turned to Jan. "Jan, this is Vanessa, my best friend slash sister."

"Well, nice to meet you Van ." Jan told her and from there, I let God take over.

And he did a really good job because Van and Jan had a lot of things in common. They enjoyed talking to each other and we made plans to meet up for fun, when Van was well enough. Van was going to be released tommorow but she said she wasn't going to be staying with I and Mikey in Neon's mansion. Instead she was staying with Neon's friend, Sean. Apparently, she was ready to take another path in her life and Sean was giving her that. I thought it was marriage too. No, it's not marriage. She told me she wasn't ready to get married yet since she hadn't experienced a lot in her life. They were just starting the friends with benefit phase. Typical Van. Sean came in with lunch and flowers later that day. That was our cue to leave. They were looking at each other as if it wasn't yesterday that they met. They had that attraction going on and I loved the fact that they weren't fighting it. I couldn't say the same for myself trust me. I thought of Neon on my way home with Janice. The kiss was still on my mind and I could still feel that burning sensation... everywhere. We got home and Jan left since her kids were already back home. She thanked me for the girl time and I did same for the clothes and also today. I had never had such good time before.
