Chapter One: A Midnight Rendezvous

(DON’T READ THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVEN’T READ BOOK ONE) -The Sapphire Dreamer-

~*~

Ariel gazed up at the stars as she laid back in the lawn chair in her backyard. She sighed as she closed her eyes. What a night, she has a splendid story and a date for Saturday night with Detective Gunnar.

Her eyes flew open when something light fell into her lap. She looked down at her lap, then up into the smoldering red eyes of her favorite hero.

“What is this?” She asked as she picked up the object and looked at it.

“That’s the film from Laura Landry’s camera.”

She stared at the film in her hand. “How did you get this?”

“I showed up in her backyard and offered an interview. She was so excited; she didn’t notice me.

sneak into her house and take the film, then disappear into the night.”

“Are you sure this is the correct film?” She asked as she stared at the film in her hand.

This is so wrong. Ariel thought with a shake of her head. But it was the only way to beat the bitch at her own game.

He laughed. “When she noticed the camera on her desk was empty, she let out a horrible scream.” He said with a smirk. “It’s the correct film.”

She smiled up at him. “Thank you.”

He leaned down until his masked face was inches from hers. “You’re welcome.”

“What is your mask made of?” She asked as she touched his face. “It’s not material like a ski mask. It feels…rubbery.”

He smiled as he leaned forward and kissed her lips. “It’s made of the same material as a diver’s suit.”

“Oh, no wonder it’s so smooth.” She said as she continued to touch it.

He groaned, then moved himself to straddle her on the lawn chair.

She sucked in a breath when he took her mouth in a demanding kiss, then moaned when his hands roamed over her body.

This isn’t right. This is wrong on so many levels.

She ignored the stupid voice in her head as she continued to kiss him.

If this isn’t right, why does it feel so good?

She sucked in a shocked breath when he spread her legs and fitted himself between them. What is she doing, why can’t she stop him? Why can’t she stop herself?

“I want you so bad, Ariel Lawson.” He whispered against her mouth.

“Yes.” She said without thinking.

Wait, you’re going on a date with one guy, and agreeing to have sex with another?

She blocked the thoughts from her mind when she felt his gloved hands on her bare skin under her shirt. Why can’t she see his face? She wants to see his face.

“Ariel.” He breathed when he found the button on her shorts and unfastened them.

She moved her hips and helped him remove her shorts. He looked down at her panties and smiled.

“Don’t make fun of me.” She grumbled as she felt her cheeks turn red.

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” He said as his red eyes looked back into her bright green eyes. “I find butterflies pretty.”

She groaned as she covered her face with her hands. The masked man chuckled as he moved her hands from her face.

“Ariel.” He said as he looked at her.

She looked at him and almost melted into the chair. His red eyes were so full of passion; they took her breath away. How could a man with this much passion be a killer?

He slipped his fingers down her panties and brought her mind back to what he was doing to her. When his finger found her clit, she bucked against his touch and cried out. He covered her mouth with his to silence her cries.

When the world exploded around her, she tried to climb backward, out of the chair, away from him. He held her in place as she rode out her orgasm. When she finally came back down to Earth, his mouth captured hers again.

“Has your detective taken you out of this world yet?” He whispered into her ear.

She looked at him. “Please don’t ruin this.” She begged.

Dreamer looked into her eyes, then nodded as he watched her face while he slipped her panties down her legs and held her hips up so that he could see her.

She closed her eyes when she saw him looking at her like she was a breakfast buffet.

What are you letting this man do to you?

Whatever the hell he wants! She yelled at herself when he slid a finger inside her. She moaned as she bucked against him.

He smiled at her as he slid his finger out of her and set her on the chair. She watched his eyes as they roamed over her face, then sucked in a breath when she saw his hands move to the front of his pants. She watched him unbutton his pants and groaned when she heard the zipper.

When he grabbed her hips again, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she waited. When nothing happened, she opened her eyes and stared at him. He leaned towards her, his red eyes intent on hers.

“Ariel.” He whispered.

“Yes?” She asked. Her breathing became shallower and shallower as he stared at her.

He smiled at her, then thrust his hips forward and entered her in one smooth motion. She screamed when a sharp pain erupted from inside her. He laid his hand over her mouth and stopped.

“Ariel.” He said a bit gruffly, his voice changer making him sound like an angry demon.

“I’m sorry.” She cried out as tears slid down her cheeks.

He sighed as he moved slower inside her, pushing forward until her body fully accepted him.

She moaned as the pain subsided and moved against him. He held her hips still as he looked into her eyes.

“Are you sure?” He asked so softly; she almost cried again.

“You’re already inside…”

He quickly kissed her. “I mean are you sure you’re not hurting anymore.”

She nodded as she moved against him again.

He groaned and took hold of her hips and moved inside her.

She let out a pent-up breath she hadn’t realized she was holding as she moved with him. This was better than she had ever imagined it to be. And with a man, she has never seen his face. How is this even possible?

What if he’s ugly?

Ariel shook her head as she closed her eyes. She doesn’t care, she’s not pretty, especially with her scars. She doesn’t even care if he has scars of his own.

Luka has shown her how pretty he thinks she is. She paused in her movements when she thought of the detective. How is she going to face him on their date now?

“Ariel.” The man in the mask said with a groan as he pulled her hips towards him, pushing himself deeper inside her.

She moaned, and all thoughts of the detective melted away.

“I wish I had a name I could call you by.” She said as she moved with him again.

He looked at her as he pushed himself even deeper inside her.

“Lukas.” He groaned as he slammed into her.

She cried out into the night as he continued to slam hot and hard into her. The night breeze cooled her bare skin as he continued to slam into her, making her mind fuzzy with ecstasy.

“God, Ariel, you are so amazing.” He said as he leaned forward and kissed her.

“I want to see you.” She said with a pout.

He chuckled as he shook his head. “Leave a little mystery to our romance.”

She laughed softly, then wrapped her legs around his hips and pulled him even deeper inside her. At least she got his first name from him.

“Lukas.” She said on a breath when he lifted her shirt and took one of her nipples into his mouth.

He grinned around her nipple then nipped at it. She bucked against him as another orgasm took her to heights she never knew existed. He grunted as he called out her name and followed her, releasing himself deep inside her.

Breathing heavily, he looked into her bright green eyes. She smiled as she laid there, content, and not sore at all.

“You’re so beautiful.” He said as he kissed her lips.

“I wish I could say the same about you.” She said as he lifted his head.

He laughed. “Maybe, someday.”

“Tell me, are you scarred like me?”

He looked at her as he slid out of her and zipped his pants.

“No.” He said with a whisper.

She frowned.

He laughed as he kissed her frown. “Were you hoping I was scared and scary?”

“Kind of.” She said as she took her panties from him and sat up as she pulled them on.

“Really?” He asked as he sat on the lawn chair and handed her her shorts.

“Well, it would explain why you’re attracted to me. I mean, if we’re both scared…”

He pulled her onto his lap, then laid back on the chair. She stopped trying to pull her shorts on and dropped them onto the chair, then curled against him.

“You’re beautiful, Ariel. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.” He said as he kissed the top of her head.

“I wasn’t before the scars, and now I’m…”

He tilted her head up and kissed her lips. “Shut up.” He said with a smile.

She giggled as she laid her head on his shoulder.

“Go to sleep now.” He said as he wrapped his arms around her.

She sighed with a nod, then closed her eyes.

He took in a deep breath and smiled when her shampoo filled his nostrils. Green Apple.

She stirred on his lap as a frightful dream had her whimpering. He tightened his hold around her and felt her body relax. He knows she still has the horrible dreams about the maniac who had cut her up.

He sighed as he relaxed against the chair.

I can afford to sleep here, holding her for a little while. Dreamer thought as he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

Ariel stretched, then paused. She was still in The Sapphire Dreamer’s arms, in her backyard. She opened her eyes and saw the sun shining down on them.

What time was it?

He stirred, and she looked up at him. He looked down at her with a smile on his face.

“Good Morning.” He said as he watched her.

“We slept out here all night.” She said as she sat on his lap.

“So, we did.” He said as he looked up at the bright sun.

Ariel looked at her watch and tried to jump off his lap, but he grabbed her hips to hold her in place.

“I need to get ready for work.” She said as she looked at him.

“Mm-hmm.” He said with a nod as he slipped a finger inside her panties.

She groaned as she tried to push his hand away. He laughed softly, then smiled when he found her clit and rubbed her. She cried out as she let go of his arm and leaned back against him. He took her to the heavens, and before she even landed back on Earth, he took her there again.

“Lukas.” She said on a whimper.

“Good, you remember my name.” He said with a smile.

“Oh, Lord, don’t stop.” She said as he continued to play with her, taking her over the edge, again and again.

He laughed softly as he moved his hand from her panties and moved her to straddle his lap. She looked into his eyes as he ran his hands between them and unfastened his pants.

As he let himself out of his pants, he slid her panties to the side and slipped into her so smoothly; she cried out his name into the morning light.

“Shh.” He said with a soft laugh.

She moaned as she rode him. He groaned as he held her hips while she slid up and down.

“God, you feel good.” He said as he kissed her lips.

“So do you.” She said out of breath.

“I’m ready to work, Miss Lawson.”
