Royal love

After a few minutes of discussing their findings Damon and Riley headed back out. They went to a small chapel. The cold pressed down on her and Riley shivered. The camera mostly showed cold in the room. Damon stepped in front of her and was looking around with his night vision camera. Riley smiled at the red figure. It looked like a demon walking around in the dark.

“Damon, there’s blue next to you, to your right,” Riley whispered.

“Really?” Damon asked turning that way, “Oh crap, do you see that light?”

“Yeah, okay this is really getting scary,” Riley whispered.

“But it’s so cool,” Damon said, “I wonder what it would say if it could talk to us.”

“It would probably say ‘Shhh, you’re in a church!’” Riley said with a laugh.

“That or ‘Get out of here you devil children!’” Damon replied and Riley giggled.

“Do you think it’s a priest?” Riley whispered.

“I don’t know, probably, we are in a chapel,” Damon replied, “Maybe he’s going to marry us.”

Riley laughed, “Sorry, I’m taken. He’ll have to marry Chris and Genevieve.”

“Oh please, he’s not going to marry her. It’s not even worth remembering her name,” Damon said with a shrug and a shaking of his head, “Evan will probably marry you though.”

“Really? Are you psychic?” Riley asked.

“No, I just have never seen Evan so protective over a girl. Syd was right about him actually loving someone. He won the bet,” Damon replied, “I’ve never seen Evan stand up for himself, but he’s willing to stand up for you. You two are going to get married and have lots of babies.”

Riley laughed and nudged him. Damon actually did have a caring side. She thought he was all bad boy, but it was nice to see a different side of him. It was fun ghost hunting with him, too.

“Hey, let’s go scare the shit out of Chris,” Damon said taking her hand. Riley let out some evil laughter and felt Damon shiver.

“Don’t do that,” Damon warned, “It’s creepy.”

Riley laughed and followed him. Chris and Genevieve were at the bottom of David’s Tower making out. He pulled Riley down on the balcony that overlooked them. Riley had to cover her laughter. She wondered what he was going to do. He started making ghostly moans. He nudged Riley to join in. She suppressed her laughter as she made ‘ooohhhh’ noises. Genevieve screamed.

“Chris, we’re going to die!” she cried out.

“No, we’re not,” Chris said, “Damon, cut it out.”

Riley whispered eerily in a high-pitched kid voice, “Momma, momma help… momma.”

Damon covered his mouth so he wouldn’t let a laugh out and then whispered, “Momma please don’t kill me, momma I don’t want to die…”

Genevieve and Chris screamed and Riley could hear their feet slapping against the stone floor. Damon started laughing hysterically and Riley joined in.

“We have to do this again next year,” Damon said shaking his head.

As the sun rose, Riley felt tired from staying up all night. She yawned as they made their final meeting. Evan smiled sympathetically at her.

“You mean you guys didn’t hear the ghost crying for its mother?” Genevieve asked. Riley stifled her laughter. Chris went on and on about how scary it was and told the others he saw the ghost of the little boy. Riley and Damon shared knowing looks.

“There was a ghost in the chapel,” Riley added.

“There was a ghost in here telling Liz how to win at poker,” Syd said laughing. Damon shook his head.

“Can we go to sleep now?” Rex asked leaning back against the wall.

“Alright, thanks for doing this, guys. I had fun,” Damon said putting an arm around Riley, “Even if there was enough drama to start our own reality tv show.”

Riley laughed and gave him a playful shove. They trudged to the waiting limo and made their way to the castle that Damon had rented. It was smaller than the castle they explored, the stone looking orange in the early morning light. The castle was decorated on the inside with modern furnishings and was much warmer than the cold air outside. Riley shivered as she changed into some warm flannel pajamas. She brushed her teeth as the door to the bathroom opened behind her. Evan came in and put his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. She leaned her head away, giving him more space to kiss.

“Do you still have feelings for Chris?” he asked, placing a kiss on the opening she gave him. Riley opened her eyes and stared at him in shock. She spit the toothpaste out, and rinsed her mouth out, before turning to him.

“Sweetheart, the only person I want to be with is the one looking at me right now,” Riley replied touching his cheek, “I can’t tell you how sexy I find you. And you are so adorable, you spoil the crap out of me. You take me on so many adventures, and really, I just can’t get enough of you.”

Evan smiled and pulled her into his arms, “I love you so much, Princess Rose. I would do anything for you.”

“I know, I love you so much Prince Evan,” Riley said, smiling. She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him.
