A month later I was on the beach in Hawaii with my husband our children and all our friends and family. After that day Chris and I had our divorces expedited due to our spouses being insane and finally got married. The wedding was huge and at the Peabody Opera House. My father who after six years of thinking had died in a car crash, gave me away with my mother on my other arm. My sisters Tiana, Paloma and Trina were my bride’s maids and since I couldn’t choose between Cece and Paula I just made them both my maid of honors. Tamira was the flower girl and Trey our ring barrier while CJ and Cory were Chris’s groomsmen, Nick was his best man and Michael and Kyle where also groomsmen. Through they weren’t happy about it, Chris pointed out that they chose each other for their weddings as best man so he did the same with his brother.
The wedding was beautiful and just the way I wanted it and I couldn’t help but feel happy.
“So, when you are born, you have to wait until you are 30 to date,” Chris said, to the baby in my stomach. He was laying on my lap facing my belly.
I laughed, “30 Chris, really? What if it’s a boy?”
“Then he can date when he’s 12 but it’s a girl and therefore she has to wait,” he said, sternly.
“You are such a hypocrite.”
He raised up and kissed me, then said, “But you love me though.”
I smiled, then shook my head yes.
“Come on mommy let’s go to the luau,” Trey said, pulling my attention from Chris.
“Okay mommy’s coming.”
Chris stood up then helped me up and as we walked along the beach to join our family at the luau, I couldn’t help but feel blessed that the nightmare had ended, and I was finally where I belonged, with Chris, our children and surrounded by those who truly loved me.
