No Boys for Me

I've stood in front of my vanity trying to tie my hair up into a messy bun for the past ten minutes, thankfully I finally got it done when I was just about to give up. I looked in the mirror and nodded to myself pleased with how I looked. I lace up my high top white Vans and grabbed my white Chanel CC Day backpack and was on my way out to my car.

"Good morning!" Cora greeted in an excited voice.

"Oh my God," I said jumping back not expecting her to pop out of nowhere. "You scared me," I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sorry," she laughed. "you heading to campus?" She asked walking to the kitchen.

"Yeah, I am actually," I nodded. "And on that note I have to go. I don't want to be late." I pointed at the door and walked over to get my car keys and was on my way to campus.

I walked to my first class five minutes before it actually started and started revising our previous lesson when a guy sat next to me.

"Hi," He said giving me his hand.

"Oh, hi," I smiled and shook it not wanting to be rude.

"I'm Jay by the way," He said giving me a smirk.

"That rimes," I chuckled putting a hand over my mouth. "I'm Angรฉlique but just call me Angel," I said softly.

"Well Angel it was nice meeting you," He said getting up as the professor entered.

"You too," I said glancing at the now busy classroom.

Class ended and I was on my way out when the same guy from this morning popped up again. Jay was his name I believe.

"Hi, sorry I'm bothering you again," He smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, it's no problem," I smiled. "can I help you with something?" I asked curious as to why he keeps talking to me.

"I actually wanted to ask you on a date," he said nervously. "so, would you like to go on a date with me?" He asked happily.

"You seem like a really nice guy, Jay. But I'm sorry I don't date." I said softly feeling guilty for rejecting him.

"Well fine! Fuck you bitch!" He screamed at me and stormed away.

I looked at my feet with tears in my eyes which I tried to hold back until I got to my car.

I was now back at my apartment that Cora and I share, sitting on my bed and studying for my upcoming finals when Cora barged into my room.

"Oh my God, did you hear about that Jay got rejected today?" She laughed joining me on my bed.

"Oh yeah," I whispered to myself looking down at my hands.

"What? You know something?" Her eyes widened with curiosity. I just nodded. "Come on, tell me!" She jumped excited to know more.

"I was the one that rejected him," I whispered fidgeting with my fingers nervously.

"Why would you do that?!" She yelled making me flinch.

"I-I didn't want to go out with him," I said softly still looking down at my hands.

"Why the hell not? I mean come on Jay has a lot of money and is so hot looking," She sighed dreamily.

"He's not my type," I shook my head.

"You've never even dated anyone. Now you have a type," She laughed. "So tell me what is your type?" She nudged my shoulder with hers.

"That's none of your business," I blushed scarlet red hiding my face with my hands.

"No, no, no! You don't get to do that," she shook her head pulling my hands off my red hot face. "Now, tell me," She grinned like a cheshire cat.

"I won't tell you," I shook me head getting uncomfortable.

"Please just tell me," She pouted with puppy eyes. It just made me more uncomfortable.

"Cora, seriously stop. I don't want to tell you," I said. I hate when people keep asking questions when you clearly don't want to answer, it makes me feel so uncomfortable like I want to just curl in a ball and hide away from their questioning.

"Fine," She scoffed storming out of my room and banging the door shut on the way out.

Cora never got a "No" for an answer, whatever she asked for she got. I guess I'm the same way as well. We both come from rich families, I never really cared about how much money I had, never rubbed it in the face of others. Cora's the opposite, she loves her money, looks and doesn't care about anything else. I wasn't friends with her by choice, our families are close and we've known each other since we were in diapers along with Kai.

Kai is our guy friend who is two years older than us, the three of our families have been best friends since high school and they still are. Our dads all took over their family companies at the same time and our mothers hang out almost every day.

I get along with Kai more than I do with Cora. Our parents thought it was a good idea to stick us in one apartment as we had always been "best friends". Cora likes being in people's business something I hate and she always tries to be in mineโ€”which I also hate. I try to avoid her as much as I can but at the end of the day we still live together.

A knock on the door brought me out of my thoughts. "Come in," I said a little louder than my usual tone so the person on the other side could hear me.

"Kai!" I said jumping off the bed and racing at his open arms which were waiting for a hug. "Hi," It came out muffled as one side of my face was squished into his chest.

"Hello to you too," He laughed, I could feel the vibrations from his chest on my face making me laugh myself. "I see you've missed me." He smirked when I pulled back and sat on the bed again.

I acted as I was thinking about an answer. "Hmm...No," I said shaking my head conforming that I haven't.

He pouted. "That's mean, Angel," He fake cried. We looked at each other for five seconds and lost it as we bursted out laughing so hard as tears came out of my eyes.

"Cora called," he said as we sobered up from out laughter. "said you were being moody," He waved his hand around.

"I wasn't being moody," I pouted. "She was just being in my business like always. And you know I hate that," I said rolling my eyes at her words.

"I know how she can be," He shook his head sighing. "How about this? Why don't we all go out this Friday?" He suggested shrugging.

I thought about it for a bit. "Please," He begged once he saw that I was about to decline the idea.

"Fine," I huffed crossing my arms. "Only this once though," I warned once I saw the look of excitement in his eyes.

"Absolutely, I'm going to tell Cora!" He jumped up and out of the door.

Oh God, what did I just get myself into.
