I grabbed my phone off of the nightstand and called Tori.

"Hey Serenity. You okay?"

"Can I crash at your place?"

"Of course! Need a ride?"

"Yes, please."

"Give me 10 minutes."

I hung up and went into the master bedroom to grab some things and shoved them into a small bag. I don't care what he says. He lied to me and I have no reason to live with a liar anymore.

I sat on the steps and saw Victoria's car drive down the street.

Here goes nothing.

"You okay?"

"What's wrong?"

I gave her the whole story on the ride back to her house.

"Who would've known."

I sighed. "He said on the phone that he loved me and..."

"He what?! Why are you leaving?!"

"Vic, I can't stay there anymore. I should've known it was a mistake in the beginning."

"Let's drink at my house. I have a hidden stash in my room and we can get wasted."

I nodded and smiled. "Now you're talking!"

Once we got to her house, we went straight to her room.

"Are you sure I can stay here?"

"Thank you."

"That's what best friends are for."

The day went by fairly quickly when I noticed my phone vibrating.

"Is it him?"

I nodded.

"Girl, you have to answer him. He might think you're dead."

"I don't want to talk to that piece of shit."

"I know you're mad at him, but you need to figure things out."

"What's to figure out?"

"Talk to him about the conversation and work it out. I'll take you home."

She stood up, grabbed my bag and left me no choice but to follow her. Once we pulled up in front of his house, I took a deep breath.

"You got this, girl. Call me if you need me."

I nodded.

I slowly got out and opened the door.

"Serenity! Where were you?! I..."

"We need to talk."

"About?" He looked down at the bag in my hand and scowled. "You were you going to leave?"

"I heard you on the phone this morning. You're using me, aren't you?"

"Oh god, of course not! Why would you ask such a thing?!"

"What's going on with my dad?"

He sighed and patted the empty spot on the couch.

I dropped my bag and stood with my arms crossed over my chest.

"I hate liars."

"I was trying to protect you, baby."

"That's not enough."

"Look. Your dad is into some deep illegal shit. I was hired to protect you and your family, but I somehow happened to fall in love with his daughter."

"Tyson, I..."

"How'd you do on your exam?"

"I got a 99."

"That's amazing, baby girl! I'm so proud of you!"

"Tyson, you're missing my point. Why did you land yourself in this position?"

"My boss doesn't want me involved in this case, but I'm not giving up. Your dad is a piece of shit and a liar and you sure as hell don't deserve to live with that asshole, so yes. I took it upon myself to have you live with me. I never thought I'd fall in love with you Serenity, but it just happened. I didn't really think anything of it the first time I laid my eyes on you, but spending all this time with you makes me feel even closer to you. I guess I'm trying to say... I love you Serenity."

He left me completely speechless. I have no words to even describe how I feel.

"I will fight for you Serenity. No matter what. I hope you know that."

I nodded. "I do. I just... I'm stressed out."

"With what?"

"This. Us."

"Do you not want this?"

"I do..."

"We're going out tonight."

"You'll see. And we're getting you a nice dress first."

Once we got to the mall, I looked at myself in the mirror, smiling.

"You look so gorgeous in this dress."

It was a long, silky gray dress with thin straps and a v-neck, exposing just the right amount of cleavage.

"I want to fuck you. Right here and now."

"We can't."

"It's illegal."

"Fine. Let's go."

I took the dress off, put my clothes back on and he took the dress.

"It's my treat."

"This is a two hundred dollar dress, Tyson."

He smiled. "My girl has to look good tonight."

As I followed him to the cash register, I watched him give the woman two one hundred dollar bills, took the bag and led me back to his car.

"And by the way?"

"When we get home, I want you naked and bent over the bed. I think it's about time you were spanked."

"For what?!"

"Leaving me."
