SERENITY

Daddy fucked me so good, I feel like I can't ever get enough. It would be merely impossible to stay mad at him. He knows every way to make cum, and the look in his eyes while he pleasures me is simply intoxicating.

I feel like I'm all his when I feel his strong arms wrapped around me. I can't stay away from Tyson any longer.

A part of me feels bad for leaving my dad behind. But with everything he's done and how he's treated me, I needed to get the hell out.

"What's wrong?"

I sigh and move closer to him, not wanting to really talk right now.

"You're over-thinking things again," he says in response to his own question, making me ask myself if he knows my mind better than I do.

He kisses the top of my head and tells me that everything will be okay. Everything will work out as long as I stick with him and that he'll protect me.

"Do you want something for breakfast?" his voice is so soothing and caring but I have no appetite.

I shook my head. "I'm okay."

"Hey. Look at me."

I couldn't look at him because he'd see right through me. I was over-thinking things. I was running away from a problem that would never go away.

"Serenity... I know this is hard for you, but..."

I suddenly hear a knock at the door, making me jump. I stand up and slip on one of his over sized t-shirts.

"I'll go see who it is."

"No. Take me with you."

He smiled. "If you insist." He picks me up and carries me down the stairs. Just as I plant a light kiss on his lips, my heart dropped to my feet as I see Penny standing outside the door looking at me. Holy fuck. She's the one who saw me get out of Tyson's car. Victoria was right.

"P-Penny?" Her face went from shocked to straight out confusion. I don't even know what to say to her. I guess pleading is my only path. "Please don't tell anyone at college."

"Your dad is Carl, right? Carl Jacobs?"

"You already know the answer to that, you little snake."

"Excuse me?"

"You told your father and you knew he'd tell mine."

"I just figured I would see how he'd react when he finds out about you being in a car with a mysterious stranger."

I rolled my eyes. "Just go away, Penny."

She nods and laughs as she walks away.

*** I groan as I hear my alarm go off. Monday mornings are not my friend. As I sat up in bed, Tyson was gone. He must be at work.

After I got dressed and finished breakfast, it was already 8:15. I'm so late for class already.

I got in my car and drove as fast as I could to get there.

Once I found a parking spot, I ran to the classroom and sat down like nothing happened. Victoria raised her eyebrows, typed something on her phone and looked at me.

I felt my phone vibrate quietly in my sweatshirt pocket.

Victoria: Where the hell were you?

Serenity: Penny came over yesterday.

Victoria: She what?!

Serenity: She's the one who told my dad.

Victoria: What's going on?

Serenity: I moved out of my house and I'm living with Tyson.

Victoria looked at me, smirking.

Victoria: U go girl!

Serenity: This is serious!

Victoria: What happened?

Serenity: Tyson felt like I wasn't safe living there. I don't know why, maybe because he hit me. But I don't know.

Victoria: He hit you?!

Serenity: Yes. Last week because I got into a dumb argument about a blind date he arranged.

Victoria: Ew, how'd it go?

Serenity: It didn't happen. Tyson had some words with the guy. Apparently he's into some bad shit, idk.

Victoria: Wow girl.

*** TYSON

I got to work as fast as I could and still got there 5 minutes late. Kane was stubborn as hell. The man never smiled or nothin'. He seemed even more irritated today for whatever reason.

"Glad to see you're here, Lewis. Take a seat." I sit in a chair across from him.

"What is it?"

"You're late."

"I know."

"Do I want to know why?"

If he was asking me this question, he knew the answer already.

"I've been hearing things. Things that I don't feel good about. I've always counted on you to be my man to get shit done, no questions asked. But now I hear you've been having sex with the next door neighbor? The daughter of the family you're supposed to be keeping an eye on?! There's a shit ton of rules you violated."

"First off, it wasn't a one time thing so please don't word it that way. And second, I didn't see it that way. It's not her family I was keeping an eye on. It was her father."

Kane scowls and leans towards me. I can tell he's being stone cold serious and the death stare he's giving me makes me assume he's not happy about this at all. If this conversation wraps up as a statement for me to not see Serenity anymore, there's no use. No one will make me give her up, and I don't care who I have to fight to keep her.

"They're all connected, man. Even her and you know that."

"I've been doing my own handy work into Carl Jacob's past."

"We have other men working on that. Plus, I think you're getting a little too involved."

"If anything were to happen, being too involved would help me..."

"No. We don't have a rule to defend them, and it's something we've gone over many times. It doesn't work. If this fling ends in a compromising position, you'll be reassigned to work somewhere else."

"She's not just a fling. I love her."

Kane raises his eyebrows, shocked by my statement. Fuck, I'm surprised too. It's the first time I said that out loud.

"First time I've ever heard you say that shit."

"First time I've ever felt this way in a while. That's why I want to be involved with this case. I want to ruin the people who hurt her. That's my goal."

"You sure are lucky as hell that your good at what you do." He sighed as he looks through some files in his desk. "Fine. You can stay involved with the case, but you owe me."

"You won't regret this."

"Have you heard from Delgato?"

"Nope."

"He's supposed to be in charge of this case, so if you want to get anywhere, find his ass."

"Yes, sir."

"I wish you wouldn't call me sir."

"You can go all angry captain on me and not expect me to call you sir."

"Whatever. Get out of my office, Lewis."

As soon as I walk out of Kane's office, I see Shepard leaning against the door frame of the office next to his. "Hey man."

"You look happy?"

"You're acting like I shouldn't be."

"Kane was pissed that you were late this morning. I thought he would tear you a new asshole."

Fair assumption. But avoiding that was one of the perks of being on the good side of my boss.

"Jealous he likes me better?"

Shepard laughed. "He doesn't prefer you."

"Ever drank whiskey with him?"

"No."

"Exactly."

"How is the girl? And in the hell can she even put up with your ass?"

"She's great and she's living with me now."

"No fuckin' way man. That's some next level shit. Am I ever going to meet her? I have to meet the girl who was actually willing to put up with you."

"Never."

"Why not? Don't want to share her?"

"Not anytime soon."

"Want to take a drive to see Delgato after work?" Shepard asked as soon as I sat down.

"Nah. It sounds tempting but I'll pass on your offer."

"He'll be disappointed."

"He won't give a shit, Lewis."

I guess Shepard made a point. He won't care. After I'm done reading through Carl Jacob's file, I decide to change my mind and take a trip to go find Delgato. He's probably in a cabin in the woods. Apparently, he built a dinky ass place for him and his wife to live in for a while.

"Everyone's wondering where you are," I say to him as I find his cabin.

"Everyone knows where I am, Lewis. Everyone just knows to let me have my privacy."

"Too much of it, and you'll lose your job."

"Have you talked to Kane?"

"He's the one who told Shepard to come up here, but I filled in for him. We got a case we need you to be working on."

"The Jacobs case? Thought you were reassigned. Is the security not enough for ya?"

"This one is personal."

"A girl?"

"Yeah. I feel like I need to protect her, but her father is one of the evil ones. I don't see her father caring for her like he should."

"Women will make you feel like that."

"Still miss her?" His wife left him not too long ago for some reason he doesn't share.

"Of course I do."

"If you want to stay here for a few more days, you could call in sick, or an early retirement."

"I'll be in tomorrow, asshole."

God, if anything ever happens to Serenity, it'll be all on me. Especially the dangers of getting too involved. "Nothing wrong with retiring."

"I don't give a fuck. I'll be in tomorrow."

"K man."

As I head back to my car, I start worrying about losing Serenity. For good.
