Don’t let what he wants eclips what you need. He’s very dreamy but he’s not the sun.
Few days later
I was sitting on the couch drinking a beer when someone starts to bang on my door. I really need to get out and get some more drinks this beer just isn’t cutting it. I get up and make my way to the door.
I open the door to see Ashton standing there. “What’s up neighbor?” I asked. He says nothing he looks me up and down then proceeds to pull me out of my apartment. “What are you doing?” I asked. “You have been held up in your apartment for the last 3 damn days. You can’t hide in there forever.” He tells me as he pulls me into the elevator.
“But I like it in there.” I mutter. “No you like avoiding me.” He claims. “I am not avoiding you.” I claim. “Yes you are.” He declares then pulls me off the elevator. He then pulls me into the parking lot and over to I assume his truck. “So what is this my intervention?” I joked. “Yes.” He says as he opens the door and picks me up and puts me inside. He then goes to the other side and gets in.
“So where are we going?” I asked. “First to get some food, then to the liquor store, then the clubhouse, and then .....” He mutters the last part so quiet I don’t hear him. “What was that last thing?” I asked. “To my...” He trails off again. “Ashton speak.” I tell him. He huffs in announce. “To my parents house.” He finally says.
“Why are we going there?” I asked. “It’s Saturday and we have family dinner every other Saturday.” He tells me. “What does that have to do with me?” I asked. “Well you see I may have sorta, kinda, most likely told them you were my girlfriend and that you were coming with me tonight.” He tells me.
“You did what?! Why did you do that?” I asked. “They started to chew me out for missing the last one so I said I was with my girlfriend because she needed me. Then they remember that they were supposed to meet her that night as well so I said I would bring her tonight.” He explains.
“Well you see those are very valid and good points but you forgot one thing.” I tell him. “What?” He asked. “Oh I don’t know. How about the fact that I’m not your damn girlfriend.” I point out. “Technically you are. You’re a girl and you’re also my friend. So that makes you my girlfriend.” He explains. I hit him on the back of the head.
“What was that for?” He asked as he rubbed his head. “For being a dumb ass.” I tell him. “Come on please.” He begs. “Fine but you owe me.” I tell him. “Anything you want. Name it and it’s yours.” He tells me.
“Anything?” I ask thinking of all the possibilities. “Anything.” He tells me. “Man you must be desperate to make that kind of deal.” I tell him with a smirk. “God what did I get myself into.” He mutters to himself more than me. “A whole lot of trouble.” I tease him.
