Don’t forget your human. It’s okay to have a melt down. Just don’t unpack and live there. Cry it out, refocus and move on.
I don’t know what came over me or her. One minute we’re talking about her tattoos and the next she’s being pulled away from me. Being pulled away from me. That hits me like a ton of bricks. I look at her. She isn’t crying or freaking out anymore. No she is just emotionless, clod, empty. Not the joking girl she was two minutes ago. I did that I made her into that.
I hurt her. I know I did physically and mentally. My hold on her was tight but I was trying to keep her from hurting herself. She gets up and walks away. “Avery.” I say trying to stop her not knowing what else to say. She just keeps going. I feel weak. Then I’m dropping to my knees. Sparrow and Griffin pull me back up. What have I done? I ask myself.
The guys sit me back at the table. “Go make sure she’s okay.” I tell them. Griffin goes. “What happened man?” Sparrow asked. “I don’t know. I pulled her away from you. When I touched her she went crazy.” I tell him. “The longer you held her the harder she fought.” Sparrow says. “I don’t know what happened. It was like an instinct. I thought holding her in place would calm her down but it made it worse.” I tell him.
“When you pulled her away from me right before she attacked I seen something in her eyes that scared the living hell out of me. For a split second it was fear then it turned into complete rage, anger, and determination to kill what was attacking her.” He tells me.
“You don’t think?” I asked. “Yeah I think she was attacked before.” He says. My heart falls to my stomach. If she was attacked before to what extent? Did I just reopen wounds that weren’t yet healed? What have I done?
“Lethal she went cold as soon as we got her away from you. But before she was screaming no. But she wasn’t screaming your name she was screaming someone else’s.” He tells me. “Whose?” I asked. “Oliver.” He tells me. “I want him found and I want him found now. Any Olivers she’s came in contact with ever. Do you understand?” I order. He nods and heads off. I get up and I head outside.
I get outside and I am met with yelling between Griffin and Avery. I make my way over and they go quiet. “I told you to check on her not yell at her.” I say to Griffin. “She needs to work on her anger.” He tells me. I punch him. I didn’t even think about it I just hit him.
He hits the ground. Then looks up at me. “Don’t you ever tell me or her what she needs to do! Do I make myself clear?” I yell at him. I go to grab her but I stop myself. I motion for her to follow me. She follows me over to her truck.
I get a good look at her and I see bruises fresh and ones that have been there awhile. The fresh ones on her arms are from me. “Avery what happened in there?” I asked. “Nothing I just don’t like being touched.” She tells me. “Then who’s Oliver?” I asked. “No one.” She says as she opens the door to her truck.
“Sorry about your face.” She says as she climbs in and shuts the door. She rolls down the window. “Tell Griffin to stay away if he knows what’s good for him. He’s not the guy I used to know.” She says then rolls up her window. Then she pulls out of the lot.
