35. Zeke

I wake up crying. It’s how I’ve been waking up for the past two weeks. I don’t know why I do it. I’ve just accepted as my new normal. I wipe my face as I get out of bed. I get ready for work and head to the kitchen to make breakfast.

“Good morning,” Kate says as she opens the fridge and pours herself a glass of orange juice.

“Morning,” I respond. I set our plates of food on the table. I fill my cup with ice. I hold the cup under my nose and smell the ice.

“That is such a weird habit you picked up.” I say nothing and shrug. I know it’s weird, but there’s just something about the smell of ice I find oddly comforting.

I sit down at the table and start eating. Afterwards, I head out, walking all the way to the orphanage. I no longer help at the sub house since submissive are now allowed to be treated in the hospital, not that submissive wolves are being mistreated any more. I get tackled by pups as I enter the main room of the orphanage.

“Zeke,” Wally, a three year old pup, squeals as he bounces on my chest. I groan.

“Zeke, play with us please,” Fred begs.

“Hold on,” I say as I push the pile of pups off of me. “It’s too early for this. Did you even eat breakfast yet?”

“Not hungry,” they all quip.

“Eat first, and then we can play.” My head falls back against the floor in relief as they jump off of me and scurry away.

“Poor Zeke,” Veronica says sarcastically. Her brown hair hangs loosely as she stands over me. She’s an unranked dominant she-wolf. “It must be so hard being popular.”

“Shut up.” I stand up. “It’s a struggle you’ll never understand cause nobody likes you.” She clutches her chest and dramatically stumbles.

“Say it ain’t so. My heart can’t take it. I think I’m going to faint.” I roll my eyes at her antics and clock in.

I help feed the pups and play with them afterwards. I spend my time taking care of them and setting up activities for them.

After work, I head back home. The smell of frost hits my nose. My heart races as I follow the scent. It leads me to the living room where Kate and two she-wolves I don’t recognize sits on the couch.

One of them is older and has light tan skin. She’s tall. Her hair is long and curly. She looks familiar, like I should know her from somewhere, but I’m drawing a blank.

My eyes are drawn to the other one. Her icy blue eyes draws me in. Then I notice her stomach. My heart drops for some reason. She already has a mate.

“Hi,” she says. I blush. It’s kind of embarrassing how I’m crushing on an already mated she-wolf.

“Hi,” I respond. “I’m Zeke.”

“I know. Your sister was telling me all about you.” I glance at Kate.

“Good things, I hope.”

“Very. Anyways, I live in the house several houses down and just wanted to bring a gift.” She hand me a bottle with either soda or juice. I can’t tell. “Made it myself. Hope you like it.”

I open the bottle and take a sip. It’s kind of gross, but I don’t want to offend her. I brace myself and chug the rest of liquid.

“It could use some sugar,” I tell her. I need some water. Amethyst smiles.

“How are you feeling?” I walk over to her. My hands tingle as I cup her face. Tears pour down my face as my memories return. I check her and our pups health.

“I’m sorry.” She covers my hands with hers.

“You did nothing wrong,” Amethyst says. I shake my head. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too.”

Even when I didn’t know I missed her, I felt her absence. I pick her up and carry her into my room. I gently place her on my bed. I kiss her lips. She grabs my shirt and pulls me closer. We frantically remove each other’s clothes. I mewl as she straddles me and kisses the mark on my neck.

“Unfortunately, we have to be gentle,” she says sinks onto me. I moan as she rocks her hips until we both reach our climax.

Afterwards, we lie on our sides. Her back is pressed against my chest. Her head lies on my bicep, and my other arm rests on her side, my hand rubbing her pregnant belly.

“What have you been up to while I was gone,” she asks as she plays my fingers.

“I work at the pack’s orphanage,” I answer. “The pups there are really sweet, and the staff is really nice too. Except for Veronica, she’s annoying.”

“She giving you problems?”

“No, we’re friends. Sort of, it’s more like she’s insisting that we’re friend, and I’m tolerating her. I think you’d like her.” I pause. “I stood up to my parents and I swore for the first time too.”

“Did you cuss out your parents?”

“Yeah.” The temperature cools as she turns in my arm and faces me.

“I hope you don’t get into the habit of using naughty words, Omega,” Azula says as she touches my lips. My tongue darts out and licks her fingers. My heart rate speeds up as she smiles at me.

“I-I haven’t,” I stutter as her other hand touches my chest and trail down to my penis. She pushes me onto my back. She removes her fingers from my lips and moves down my body. “It was, it was only once.” She licks the tip.

“Really? What word did you use?”

She takes the head of my penis into her mouth. I’ve forgotten how mean Azula can be. How am I suppose to answer with her doing things to me? I moan as she take my entire length into her mouth.

Her eyes glint mischievous as she peers up at me. She bobs her head up and down. What was the question again?

“I-I-I used, it w-was.”

“Huh? What was it?” She kisses my inner thigh.

“What was that? I didn’t quite hear you.”

“Fuck.” She starts playing with my butthole. “Fuck. It was fuck. Oh goddess.”

She doesn’t say anything but continues teasing me, bringing me to the edge and stopping just as I’m about to come. She does this over and over again. By the end it, I’m a crying, moaning mess.

“P-please, A-Alpha,” I beg. I’m so close. All she needs to do is not stop. “Pleasepleaseplease, I’ve been good. I’ve been so good. May I come, p-p-please?” She smiles around my shaft.

Since you asked so nicely…

She keeps her pace until I explode in her mouth. My vision goes white as I orgasm. She lifts her mouth from me and crawls over my body. Her eyes turn blue as she gazes down at me.

“Alpha’s mean,” I pant. Amethyst smiles before resting her head on my chest. She traces soothing patterns on my body. My eyes begin to droop close.

“I know,” she responds. I wrap my arms around her. “She’s just the worst.”

“Still love her, though, and you.”

“We love you too.”

I drift to sleep.

“I can see the head,” Dr. Lunes yells. “Just keep pushing!” The nurses in the room cheer on Amethyst as she pushes. “Almost there, Mom. You’re doing great.”

Amethyst squeezes my hand as she pushes. The sound of crying fills the room.

“It’s a beautiful puppy girl,” Dr. Lunes announces. “Come and cut the umbilical cord, Dad.”

I let go and move towards the doctor. He hands me scissors before holding the umbilical cord for me. I cut it and watch as my daughter gets whisked away to get cleaned off by the nurse.

“Puppy Alyn is 7 pounds 8 ounces,” the nurse announces.

I turn my attention to amethyst as she starts yelling again. I move to her side and hold her hand. I kiss the top of her head. It the corner of my eye, I see Kate, Topaz, Amethyst’s dad, and a girl who’s name I think is Sinforiana fawn over Alyn.

“You’re doing great,” I tell her. “Just one more to go.”

“On the next contraction, I want you to push as hard as you can,” Dr. Lunes says. “Alright, push.”

“I’m fucking pushing,” Amethyst yells.

“You’re doing great. Breathe, breathe. Now push. Your pup is crowning. Just one more push. Perfect. Dad, come cut the cord of your son.”

I move to Dr. Lunes. I’m concern because there’s no cry. Is he alright. The doctor doesn’t seem to think so. I cut the cord, and my son shifts into a black wolf. Dr. Lunes laughs.

“Looks like we have a powerful alpha on our hands,” he says as he hands my pup to the nurse.

“Puppy Asher is 8 pounds 1 ounce,” the nurse announces. I walk back to Amethyst just as our family surround my son.

“Alright,” Dr. Lunes says. “Now for the easy part.”

After everyone finally stops hogging my pups, Amethyst and I get to hold them. I hold Alyn in my arms. She’s so tiny. Both of the twins have light tan skin, but that’s the only similarity between them.

Alyn’s hair is completely white, and her eyes are a very pale blue, similar to Amethyst’s. Alyn’s eyes might darken when she gets older, making them more similar to my eyes. Either way, my daughter looks beautiful.

I stare at her face in fascination. I run my finger against her cheek. She turns her face toward my finger. I can’t help but smile at her actions. I think she might have my nose.

“You want to hold our son,” Amethyst asks. I nod and carefully place Alyn on Amethyst’s chest. Amethyst hands me Asher who shifted back to his human form.

Asher’s hair is black, and his eyes are white. No question about it, he has Azula’s eyes. He grabs my thumb with his tiny hand and stares straight at me.

My eyes burn with tears. I can’t believe that I’m responsible for his creation, for both of them. My heart melts as the feeling of protectiveness surges through me. I’m going to do a better job of protecting them than my parents did for me.

I wake up to the sound of crying. Amethyst groans beside me. I stop her from getting out of bed.

“I got this,” I say as I kiss her cheek. I crawl out of bed and shuffle to the kitchen. I open the fridge. I grab a bottle from it and warm it up. After the bottles warm up, I head to the pups’ room. I check both of their diapers.

I change Asher’s diaper. I pick him up and bring him to Amethyst. She takes him from me. He stops crying when she lifts her shirt and hold him to her breast. I return to the other crying pup.

I pick her up from her crib and rub the nipple of the bottle against her cheeks. She stops crying and latches onto the nipple. I hold her as she eats.

When she finish eating, I rock her until she falls then place her back in her crib. I check on Asher and Amethyst. I find Asher asleep in Amethyst’s arm. I carefully pick him up and take him to his crib.

I quietly leave the room. I enter our room and flop on the bed. I crawl under the covers, and Amethyst pulls me to her.

“Maybe we could have Kate watch them for a bit,” I whisper against her neck. “We might actually get some sleep.”

“Sounds good,” she yawns.

In seconds, we’re out like a light.

A/N: The end.

While the story is complete it’s not over. I have extra content coming, bonus chapters that are basically extended epilogues. I haven’t written them yet. Once I have them written, I’ll start pumping them out. So you can look forward to that.

Hope you enjoyed reading the story as much as I did writing it.
