It is so ironic how one moment we were dancing and laughing and next we were fighting. Well I was the one being bitchy, but still.
I was so pleased with how the lesson went, I had fun learning something new while bonding with my partner, Nathan. Then, I go to the changing rooms and my mood instantly becomes sour when I am faced with, my not so favorite person; Ashley.
She comes towards me in all her bitchy glory with her cat eyes narrowed and lips set on a thin line.
"Whats the matter bitch? You don't understand when I tell you to stay away from my man?" She sneers.
My eyes widen at first because I don't understand what she is talking about. Then it strikes me. She's talking about Nathan.
"What? Can't remember? Well let me give you the last warning. Stay away from Nathan. He is mine."
"Oh! He is yours? Where is that written? In your tiny brain? Let me tell you something. If he is truly yours, then you will never have to be worried about it. You won't be going around telling everyone that he belongs to you. And, just so you know. I have 'no interest' in Nathan. He is just my dance partner. Clear?" I tell her while flailing my arms around, mimicking her.
Grabbing my stuff I rush out, leaving her standing there.
She is seriously so good at irritating people. Just because of her my mood is spoilt. As I get out of the school building, Nathan comes up to me.

"Hey. That was a great lesson. What do you think?" He asks as he walks with me.

"Are you excited to start our assignment? I am so looking forward to it."

I just nod my head, not in a mood to converse with him after what happened in the changing room.

"I'm also looking forward to my treat. You've not forgotten about it, right?"

Again, I just nodded.

"Do you have some ideas on our topic?" He tried again.

I stopped and turned to look at him.

"Look. This is just an assignment and let us just focus on that. No need to be friendly for that." I say in a clipped tone and run away from him.

Now standing here waiting for Via in the parking lot, I feel guilty. It was not his fault that my mood was spoiled. He didn't deserve the way I behaved with him. I was unreasonably rude for something that he didn't even know about. I guess I'll have to say sorry when he comes to my home. I will make something good today. Because, as I say: good food makes the mood.

As these thoughts are going through my mind, Via comes to the parking lot. She instantly drops her bag on the ground and starts running towards me. I am pressed against her car door while she holds my shoulders looking me up and down.

"What happened? Why did you attack me suddenly?" I ask her as my heart beats fast.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt somewhere? Did someone say something to you?"

"No. Why are you so hyper right now?" I say as I too hold her shoulders.

"I saw you were deep in your thoughts. As if lost somewhere. I called you twice and you didn't respond. Did that jackass Nathan say something to you?" She says with wide eyes.

"No. I mean he apologized and I forgave him. We're good now."

"Good! We're aren't good till he gets his share of misery for messing with you. How can you forgive him so easily?" She throws her hands up in the air.

"It's okay Via. He apologized so many times and he really didn't mean to-"

"Mean to what huh? He didn't mean to drown you, to the point that you almost stop breathing?" She says while crossing her arms and putting on an angdy look on her face.

"Via. He didn't mean any harm. He was just having fun like we did when we splashed them with mud. He didn't know that I can't swim otherwise he wouldn't have done that." I explain.

"Whatever. I am not allowing him to come near you again." She says and goes to open the car door.

We settle into the car and drive out of the school entrance when I speak again.

"Well thats not possible. He is my lesson partner and also my dance partner.

Via abruptly blows the horn and presses the break.

"What??" She shouts after gaining control of the car again.

Thank God we are not in the main road yet. I don't want to die.

"Yes....." I drawled.

"How can you do this after what he did to you?" Via simmers.

"It was not my choice. Mr. Holloway paired us to do the English assignment and there was no one else left to partner with me in dance club."

"Okay. But, if he tries anything again, I will whoop his ass so good that he'll be competing with the Kardashians."

"Positive." I said while laughing.

The rest of the ride was filled with us jamming to Maroon 5 songs and normal school talk.

It was five o'clock now and I had done my homework and taken a nap. Feeling fully refreshed, I entered the kitchen going straight to the refrigerator. I was happy to find it full of different vegetables and the first thing that came in my mind was lasanga.

Yes. I will make lasagna. Dad had texted that he would be coming home late so a good meal will surely help him rejuvenate. I hope Nathan also likes it since this will be my way of saying sorry to him.

With these thoughts running through my mind, I start cutting the vegetables.

It is almost six and I have put the lasagna into the oven. Just then the doorbell rings.

I open the door to Nathan Amherst smiling down at me. He seriously is so handsome. For a boy in his teenage, he surely looks like a God.

He flicks his fingers in front of my face and I quickly look away, realizing that I was staring at him. Clearing my throat, I motion Nathan to come inside.

Once he steps in I close the door and start speaking.

"Hey ughh. I'm really sorry for behaving like that earlier today. I was not in a good mood and it just all came out on you. I'm sorry." I apologize while looking into his eyes to convey that I am sincerely apologetic.

"Thats fine Angel. I hope you are fine now."

"Yeah. Thank you."

"Okay. So.....should we get started?"

"Yes. You can sit here, I'll just bring my notebook and pen." I pointed him to the living area. I was not going to take him to my bedroom. Dad was not home and we could easily do our work here without being disturbed.

I watched her as she disappeared up the stairs to get her stuff. Her home was quiet beautiful.

The outside was attended nicely with green grass surrounding the stone driveway and small potted plants sat on the windows. The outside was painted a pastel white with the roof sitting on it like a caramel colored biscuit. Even the inside was beautiful with an off-white and maple color combination. The flooring and furniture was maplewood. In all it was a nice house.

Angel seemed in a better mood now. She looked so cute while she apologized. All fidgety and shy but completely honest. I was not mad at her but it felt good to see her give me importance.

I heard her come down and she appeared holding her things in her hands. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she was wearing a white long tshirt with a pair of black shorts that had her legs on display. Even in her home clothes she was simply beautiful.

She came around the coffee table that and sat down on the other side of the sofa. I ignored the distance she had put between us and got to the opening my notebook. I was really excited about this assignment and even more excited about doing it with Angel.

"Will you like to drink something? Water, coffee, tea or any non-alcoholic drink?" She asked. This invoked a laugh out of me.

"Just water. Thank you." I said still chuckling. She was also smiling when she got up to get me the water.

After she came back we finally got to the assignment.

"So.....I think that we should start with telling each other about our families. I mean just basic details. It will help us understand what to write and also to get to know each other better." As I said this, I saw how her face turned pale and she turned her head away. I thought that she was just shy so I proceeded to tell her about my family first.

"Okay, so I'll start. My family consists of my mom, dad, my little sister and me. My dad is the owner of the Amherst Group of Companies, our ancestry business. My mom runs a beauty business of her own. She is beautiful and works on making others also beautiful. Then comes Dumpling, I mean Charlotte. My baby sister is six and she is the most innocent and cute living being I've ever seen. I am her big brother, her Bear. She loves Olaf and cuddles." I finished with a big smile thinking about my sister.

When I saw Angel, she was looking down still not meeting my gaze.

What should I tell him? The way he is describing his family. So perfect and good. There seems to be so much love in his heart for his family, especially his sister. What am I to tell him about mine?

I don't have a perfect family like him. I don't have a mother whom I can call perfect. He is just a mere acquaintance not a friend with whom I can share the truth about my life.

Just then the alarm rings, saving me from the uncomfortable situation. Mumbling a small 'excuse me', I go into the kitchen and take out the lasagna after switching off the alarm.

"Do I smell lasagna? Oh my God! Are you kidding me? Thats my favorite!" Nathan exclaims as enters the kitchen.

His enthusiasm makes me laugh as I as I forget my initial thoughts. Setting it on the counter, I set the breakfast table while it cools down.

"You can sit here. I'll just bring the utensils." I say and watch him settle down just when the doorbell rings.

Keeping the plates down I go to answer the door. As soon as the door opens, Via rushes in and into the kitchen shouting 'Food'.

I close the door and start heading back to the kitchen when I hear a bang. I rush to the kitchen to see Via running after Nathan with a frying pan in her hand.

"Via!! Stop!!" I rush to Nathan's side who hides behind me, hiding himself from Via's wrath.

"Move aside Aaviana. Let me teach him a lesson one and for all. How dare he come to your house after what he did to you?" Via shouts.

"No Via. I told him to come here. We have to start with our assignment. He is not here to trouble me." I explain while Via glares at Nathan.

"Why didn't you tell me about it?" She asks, continuing to glare at him.

"I forgot okay. Now lets calm down and focus on the lasagna. Please. It will not taste good cold." Hearing this Via places the pan down and a relieved sigh leaves Nathan.

"Just because you mentioned food. And you, you are under my watch." Via says and goes to sit down at the breakfast bar.

After this we all sit down and I serve everyone while keeping an eye on Via. There is no guarantee that she will not do anything. Via is extremely protective of her loved ones, going to any length to protect them. I am lucky to be one of those people. However there is one disadvantage of it that she can be extra dangerous to the one who has caused the hurt, in this case , Nathan. Even now she is glaring at him like she is going to go through with the threat of making his ass like the Kardashians.

Unconciously, I start imagining Nathan like that. The image makes me burst out laughing and both if them turn to look at me with confused expressions.

"What happened? Have you gone crazy?" Via asks.

"No I just.....hahaha. I just remembered something funny you said earlier." I say between mouth fulls of food.

"And what might that be?"

"Nothing. Just eat."

"No. Tell me." Via puts her fork down and even Nathan urges me to go on.

"Well, if you wish. I was actually imagining Nathan with the figure that you were planning on giving him." I say while chuckling.

Nathan looks confused while Via's face expression changes to an evil smile.

"Oh! You mean the time when I was going to whoop his ass so hard that he was going to compete with the Kardashians?"

Nathan's expression turns horrified and he grabs his bottoms and gulps while looking fearfully at Via. The action makes me laugh even harder. I lose my balance and fall down from the chair while holding my aching stomach. Soon Via and Nathan also join in and just like that I forget about the problems in my life.
