My Valerie

I’ve been doing everything I can to avoid Adrien since that day I went training with Sebastian and got punched in the face. Every time I think about that day I get goosebumps remembering how good it felt being held by him. Stupid beast.

“Valerie where did you go?” Sebastian asked, snapping me out of my thoughts as he dropped his fork on the plate.

“Oh sorry,” I said, trying to cover the fact that I was thinking about none other than Adrien. That damned colossal beast was living in my mind.

“Your bestie is coming,” he said with a smirk and nodded his head behind me. I raised an eyebrow and turned around only to find none other than Sienna walking towards me. Great.

If there is anyone I hated more than Adrien it was that woman. She was always around Adrien and clinging to him like a sloth to a tree. It’s not like I was jealous or anything… I just didn’t like her.

“Adrien wants you in his office,” she said without looking at me and walked away swaying her hips before waiting for my response.

“It’s my lunchtime,” I whined and pouted making Sebastian laugh. “I hate him,” I groaned and got up from my seat, throwing the napkin on the cafeteria table.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Seb.”

“Bye Val,” he said and I gave him a soft smile before walking away.

Sebastian was probably the only reason I could tolerate that job. We became great friends and he was always there to cheer me up when Adrien would mess up my mood. He didn’t know that Adrien was my mate though and I’d rather keep it that way.

I took a deep breath, knocked on Adrien's door and walked in without waiting for a reply. If he was going to ruin my lunchtime every goddamned day I wasn’t going to follow his dumb rules.

He lifted his head to look at me and shook his head, “you’re supposed to knock and wait, Miss Hale.”

“And you’re supposed to let me have my lunch but here we are. What do you want?”

“If you continue with that attitude you won’t have a job till you die of old age. I am your boss so stop talking to me like I’m otherwise. That is all I am to you,” he said and I could see his blue eyes turning dark.

I held back from rolling my eyes. I knew I wasn’t getting fired because if I was, I would have been a while ago. He made me feel like punching the air with his stupid sexy authoritative tone.

“Oh okay, Mr. Grey, to what do I owe this wonderful disturbance of my lunchtime with my friend?” I asked.

“I have a meeting in thirty minutes, I want you there.”

My eyes popped out and I groaned internally, “why?”

He looked up at me and pressed his lips into a thin line, “you really need to stop questioning me. You work for me. Be there in thirty minutes, and get the place ready.”

“Asshole,” I muttered and turned to leave but he somehow was right behind me.

“What was that?” He asked and I felt my heart pounding in my chest. He turned me around and pinned me to the wall holding my hands flat against it.

“Nothing,” I whispered. He was too close for my liking, he looked so gorgeous and it was probably the closest I’ve been to him. I could smell his heavenly cologne and I could see the little specks of green in his blue orbs.

As soon as I snapped out of admiring his beauty, I wriggled my hands to try and get out of his hold but it was of no use. I was strong, but he was stronger.

“Let. Go.” I grit my teeth together, “I’m not one of your whores, let go of me and don’t touch me.”

He leaned in and placed his forehead on mine making my breath hitch and my eyes close. It felt strangely perfect and I didn’t want to move. “you need to stop testing my patience, Valerie.”

Valerie. That was the first time he’s called me by my name since I stepped into his office and damn, it was hot. Alaska, my wolf was basically going crazy and I don't doubt that so was his wolf.

“I didn’t do anything, let me go,” I managed to say without fainting and he let go of my hands. I felt my cheeks heat up as I looked up at him and he stared down at me with a strange look in his eyes. I’ve never felt that kind of tension before. Ever.

I shoved him away and walked out of his office, “stupid Valerie,” I muttered to myself. He was using his fake charms on me like he did to other girls. But I wasn’t going to be another one of his one night stands. I knew he wanted nothing to do with me but neither of us can deny the tension and attraction between us. It was getting too much and too hard to ignore at that point.

I waited for everyone to get into the meeting room before I made it in last. There was just one seat left between two men and across from Adrien.

I hesitantly walked over and sat down, my gaze fixed on the table. I was embarrassed by my reaction earlier and I didn’t want to face him again. I never reacted that way to anyone before. Not that I had anyone. I still felt hot even though it was well over thirty minutes since he pinned me to the wall.

I had no idea what the boring meeting was about, they were talking about things that I assume they already talked about before. Attacks, and more attacks. I leaned back on my chair and huffed, earning the attention of the guy next to me.

“Bored?” he asked with a chuckle and I looked at him before nodding.

“Yep, I don’t know what’s going on.”

“Me neither, I honestly don’t care, these meetings are pointless but my father insists that I attend,” he whispered so that no one would hear.

“I’m forced to attend too, wouldn’t be here if I had a choice,” I said, making him smile. He had a cute smile. He was good looking, not as good as Adrien though. He had soft brown hair and hazel eyes. Definitely nothing comparable to Adrien's blue ones.

“Who are you here with? I’ve never seen you before,” he asked.

“Mr. Grey. I’m his PA.”

“Oh, I’ve never seen him let any of them attend. I guess we’re stuck on the same boat. I’m Lennon,” he said and I gave him a soft smile. “Valerie.”

I heard a low growl and looked up to find Adrien glaring at me with dark eyes and mouthing something. If looks could kill I’d be dead, and Lennon's neck would be snapped.

I ignored him and continued talking to Lennon every now and then, knowing very well how unprofessional I was being while avoiding Adrien’s gaze as much as possible. I felt it burning me, but I wasn’t making eye contact.

As soon as everyone was out after the meeting I tried to sneak out without Adrien stopping me. I knew he was pissed, the anger was literally radiating off him like sun rays and being his mate I felt just how intense it was.

“Miss Hale,” he called right before I made it to the door and I mentally cursed myself. Well shit.

“Yes?” I said and turned around to face him.

“What was that? What do you think you were doing?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I shrugged and batted my lashes.

“Yes you do, what was so interesting and important more than this meeting that you and Lennon whispered and giggled through it all?” he asked, his voice very controlled and I felt shivers run down my spine. So hot.

“I did not ask you to attend so you can make friends,” he said and I rolled my eyes. I did not understand that man one bit. He was acting possessive for no reason. First with Sebastian and now Lennon.

“Why do you care, it’s none of your business,” I said and saw his lips slightly part before he took a deep breath and covered his mouth with his hands. I knew exactly what I was doing and I was enjoying it.

“It is my business, it’s my meeting and you work for me, remember?” he said and I huffed. Unbelievable man.

“Well if you’re so interested in my conversation. He offered to train with me tomorrow morning since Sebastian isn’t free after work. Of course, I couldn’t reject his offer.”

He growled at me and his blue eyes weren’t so blue anymore, they were really dark, he balled up his fists and my heart rate went psycho.

“You’re not training with him,” he said, like it was his final statement and I should obey.

“Hate to break it to you, but you don’t get a say in this Adrien.” I was shocked that I called him by his name, I never called him by his name, it just came out.

“Yes I do, you’re not training with him. If you want, I will train you, I am the lead warrior and I'm a trainer,” he said and my eyes widened. What was wrong with him? One second he pushes me away and another he’s being possessive. The moon Goddess must have been insane pairing me with that man.

“YOU.” I pointed at him and let out a laugh, “you’ll help me train? Sorry but I don’t think it fits into your busy schedule.”

He looked at me and clenched his jaw, “what time?” he asked.

“Wha- what do you mean what time?”

“What time do you train?” He made himself clearer and I think the shock was evident all over my face.

“5 am,” I blurted out and I don’t know why. Maybe because I kind of wanted to train with him.

“Okay.” he looked bewildered, I don’t know what he expected but it sure wasn’t 5 am.

“Go tell him he won’t need to train you anymore,” he said and I folded my arms with furrowed brows. Was he serious? Did he think he could just control me like a dog?

“What? No.”

“Valerie, stop messing with me and go tell him you won’t need him as your trainer anymore. I honestly don’t care if it was Sebastian but I don't want you training with Lennon.”

“Why? What’s wrong with him?” I asked.

“Stop asking too many questions.”

My mouth dropped and I just continued to look at him, “you’re bipolar, I swear,” I snapped before walking out.

I couldn't believe I even listened to him. I don’t even know why I listened to him in the first place. But I guess I’ll be training with him tomorrow.
