My Valerie

Usually when I trained after work I used the indoor training space but since it was early in the morning, I preferred to be outside in the fresh air and morning breeze, especially since I didn't want to be in a confined space with my mate.

I got there when it was dark, the sun had yet to rise. I took off my sweatshirt and I began stretching just to pass time while I waited for Adrien to come, secretly hoping he would come and not ditch.

I was doing a plank when I heard someone clear their throat making me yelp and fall, “Oh shit, don’t come up on me like that,” I said, sitting on my butt with my hand on my chest as I stared at Adrien.

He looked at me, his face expression not changing as his eyes wandered all over my body like he was assessing me, it made me feel naked in front of him. I was wearing a sports bra and black leggings.

"Is this what you wear?" He asked in a low voice as I stood up.

“Yeah. Umm, so let’s start?” I asked as I shifted on my feet. He looked so damn intimidating standing there with the faint moon glow on his face.

“let’s see how good your punches are,” he said before reaching for the hem of his shirt. My heart began beating a million times a second as I watched him pull it off. He had hard, defined abs that made me want to reach my hands out and touch them. The man was a Greek God.

The trees swooshed as I stood there ogling him for a really long time, I had no idea how long it was until he cleared his throat and my breath hitched. He must have noticed because I saw the corners of his mouth twitch up, the closest thing I had seen to a smile on his face.

“Okay,” I mumbled and walked over to the punching bags with my face flushed. I knew it was going to be the most awkward and ineffective training session ever.

I began throwing punches, pouring all my emotions into them while he stood tall behind me with his arms crossed, judging me.

“You have no muscle,” he said out of no where. I stopped punching and whipped my head back to look at him. “What?”

“You heard me, you’re weak.” He shrugged.

“I’m not weak, I’ve won fights before.”

“Well you got lucky, you’re never going to win again, not like that,” he said, pointing at the punching bag.

“Well, enlighten me, Mr. Grey,” I said, trying not to scoff at him.

He stepped forward, his front almost pressed against my back, “You only use your arms. You have to use your whole body. Keep the tension here,” he said huskily before placing a hand on my midriff. My breath hitched and I stopped breathing, goosebumps were lined my body and I was pretty sure he could see them.

“O-Okay,” I stuttered, struggling to keep my thoughts sane as he withdrew his hands leaving tingles where his hand was.

He still stood so close to me, I could feel his breath fanning my neck and his chest touching my back. “Adrien,” I called, trying to move away while my heart thumped in my chest. It was not good. My heart was beating so fast and I barely did any workout. It was because of him.

“Allie.” He stepped closer and whispered into my ear before nibbling on it. I felt shivers all over my body and sparks everywhere around us when I heard the nickname. Nothing around us mattered, it was just us.

“Adrien what are you-,” I yelped as he flipped me around and I stumbled back, my back hitting the punching bag making it swing back slightly. I looked up into his eyes that were no longer blue, they were really dark, almost black as he stared at me, his gaze moving from my eyes to my lips.

He said nothing and slammed his lips on mine harshly. The kiss wasn’t soft, it was filled with passion and lust. It felt like he was saying everything he couldn’t through that kiss.

He groaned into the kiss and held my head in between his hands, keeping me secure which made me feel hot everywhere. He moved his lips and started trailing kisses down my neck while I breathed out heavily. I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly, making him snake his arms around the back of my thighs and hoisting me up to wrap my legs around him tightly.

He captured my lips again and it was less aggressive than the first time, it was the best thing I've ever felt, “Stop, we need to stop,” he said between our kiss. He pulled away, placed me down, and put his forehead over mine as we took deep breaths and he brushed his thumb over my cheekbones. I could see his chest rising and falling rapidly mirroring my own. “Fuck. Valerie we- I can’t.”

“Why? Adrien...” I whispered.

He looked at me with furrowed brows and shook his head as he pressed his lips into a thin line, “for the sake of the pack and for you.”

“What do you mean?” I asked but he only shook his head once again.

“This was a mistake,” he said while running his fingers through his hair, “no one hears about this, I’ll see you at work.”

I stood rooted in my spot looking to where he walked off to. I was so embarrassed and I felt like crying. The feeling I felt during the kiss was indescribable and then he just walked off, and it hurt. I kind of expected it, but there is always that tiny bit of hope that maybe it’ll be different, maybe he was finally giving in. But it was Adrien we were talking about.

I had no idea what he even meant when he said for the sake of the pack. What did our relationship have to do with the pack? It was between us and only us. He was just full of excuses.

I shook my head and patted my face to try and get rid of the heat when I heard shuffling behind one of the trees. I felt someone’s presence and it sent shivers down my body.

“Hello?” I said, looking at the direction where I heard the shuffling but no one replied.

Usually, I went there alone and I was fine but today it felt strange and it made me feel uneasy. So I picked up my things and hurried away to my car, ignoring my erratic heartbeat. I dreaded going to work because it was going to be extremely awkward for me and it was all his fault, he initiated the kiss. The kiss that would not leave my mind anytime soon.

I was sitting and fiddling with a pen when I heard a loud crash coming from his office and a moan making my eyes go wide. I wondered what the hell was going on and decided to do the dumbest thing I could do. I decided to open the door without knocking. Worst idea I’ve ever come up with.

As soon as I looked in my heart fell and I stopped breathing. There were many scenarios I had expected the rest of my day to be like. But none of them was what I saw in front of me.

Sienna was pulling her red dress down and fixing the strap while Adrien looked like a mess. His hair disheveled and his suit jacket nowhere to be seen.

She was the first one to see me. I pressed my lips into a thin line and she shot me a smirk that made me want to punch her all the way to the next pack and out of our territory for good.

I turned to look at Adrien who was already looking at me. Still, no emotions in his face but his eyes were different, they had an emotion I couldn't describe. Our eyes locked for a moment and I opened my mouth and closed it again.

“Next time, be quiet,” I snapped and shut the door to walk back to my desk.

I grabbed my bag and walked out of the office not caring that I was leaving before I should. If he wanted something, I’m sure Sienna could do it for him.

I sat in my car and placed my head on the steering wheel feeling my eyes sting. I don’t cry easily at dumb things like that. But Adrien just kept ruining everything for me and messing with my emotions. I didn’t know what I felt. One moment he’s kissing me and hours later he’s fucking Sienna in his office. Right next to my office.

I decided to go back to my parents home, I didn’t feel like being alone and I wanted to see Mason and Angelina.

As soon as I opened the door Angelina’s gaze landed on me and she ran to hug me, “REE!”

“Hey AJ,” I laughed and ruffled her hair, already feeling better.

“Valerie, arent you supposed to be at work?” My mom asked as she walked over to us and I shrugged.

“Day off. Where is Mason?” I asked, changing the topic.

“He’s out with your dad checking the borders, someone was caught trespassing.”

“Again!?” I asked and she nodded with a sigh.

“It’s getting worse, they are so pressured right now and things are getting out of hand.”

I looked at my mom properly and she looked exhausted, being the Luna wasn’t any easier than being an Alpha and she was always with my dad and staying awake.

“You can go rest, I have AJ,” I said and gave her a soft smile.

“Okay. Angeline, be nice.” She smiled and walked upstairs.

I woke up feeling like shit. Angelina was curled up next to me looking so peaceful and an idea came to my mind.

I wasn’t going to spend my days being sad about Adrien being an asshole, if he wanted to play then two people could play his game. So I decided to take Angelina to work with me, it was evil, but he deserved it.

I sat in my office and I left the door joining our office slightly open so he would come in.

“I need the papers from Monday on my desk in five minutes,” he said without even giving me a glance.

I smiled at him, “well, good morning to you too.”

“Hey AJ, why don’t you say good morning?” I said, giving her a nudge.

“Good morning,” she smiled up at him showing him her teeth.

He hadn’t noticed her before, his gaze shot up he and looked at her with a quizzical look. I wanted to laugh but decided not to.

“Oh hey little one,” he said and turned back to me. “Who is this?” he asked in a low tone.

“My daughter, Angelina,” I smiled up to him before straightening my back and going back to my papers. Asshole.

I saw him walk closer to her and crouch down, “Hi Angelina, can you go into my office and play to give us a moment?” he asked and she nodded.

I mentally high-fived myself, my smart AJ went along with it, or she just didn’t hear what we said.

He turned to look at me, his nose flared and his eyes not so blue anymore. To say I got scared was an understatement, I probably shouldn’t have done that but he deserved it.

“Why didn’t I know?” he asked and I stayed quiet.

“Stand up,” he ordered and I stayed put. “No.”

“Valerie, I fucking said stand up and I won’t repeat myself.” He took a deep breath and I shot up on my feet. Angry Adrien was a no-no.

“You let another man touch you?” He questioned. I could see his fists balled up to his side. He was doing pretty good.

“Yeah and?” I said so casually, he was a ticking time bomb and I didn’t care. I was kind of enjoying it.

“Why didn’t I know about her?” He asked, pointing at the closed door.

“Last time I checked, I wasn’t required to tell you about my life. It’s mine, not yours.”

“Stop messing with me,” he growled, making my eyes go wide.

“You are required to tell me if you have a daughter, you’re my mate.”

“Oh, now I’m your mate? Funny, I remember you saying you don’t want a mate and fucking other women in your office.” I let out a fake laugh. That man was crazy. But my plan was going great. Make him jealous. check.

“Valerie,” he growled again.

“Adrien,” I copied him.

“Tell me you’re joking.”

“I don’t have to tell you anything.”

That was a big mistake, a very big mistake. He stalked over to me. His eyes were fully black as he held me pressed against his body, his fingers curled around my arms and his canines stuck out.

“Adrien stop,” I called feeling my hands tremble but he just continued looking at me before he growled even deeper and buried his head into my neck, breathing me in like there was no tomorrow.

I stood still just waiting for something to happen but he didn't move. He stayed there until he calmed down a bit and pulled away slightly with a frown. He looked vulnerable. For mates, the scent of the other helps keep them in control, which is why he did that. He lost it.

“Tell me no one touched you,” he said again, sounding helpless as he tried to control himself.

“No one touched me.” The words spilled out of my mouth. “She’s my sister.”

He pushed me down on my chair a little too harshly, and without even giving me a glance he stormed out.

I felt bad, really bad. I made him lose it, Adrien never loses it. I knew I shouldn’t have done it, but he deserved it for bringing Sienna into his office after kissing me. It was okay for him to be touched but not for me?

I shouldn’t have felt bad because he was an ass, but at the same time what he did to me wasn’t close to me making him lose control. I knew he slept around and it was something he’s been doing long before I came around. But I wanted to make him feel even for just a second.
