Chapter Thirty-Seven: Forever in My Heart

“He’s gone into hiding,” Stefano announced as he walked into his boss’s office.

Dom looked up at his bodyguard. He has known the man since they were kids. Best friends since before they could walk. Of course, he had been the person he had turned to. Who else to protect him but the man who loved him like a brother?

“I figured he would; when he discovered, we were all still alive.”

Stefano nodded. “How is everyone?”

Dom nodded, “Ren will be coming home today.”

“I bet Aurora is happy for that.”

Dom grinned, “she hasn’t left the hospital. She even showers there.”

Stefano laughed, “she’s a great kid.”

“Her mother did a wonderful job raising her.”

“Indeed, and she will be a wonderful mother.”

Dom nodded, “Ren will be a great father.”

“Those two kids are so in love; I don’t think anything can keep them apart.”

Dom grinned, “I knew he was right for my girl.”

“It could have backfired on you,” Stefano said as he took a seat in the chair across from Dom’s desk.

Dom nodded, “at first I thought it had. But they had found each other when they needed to, as I had hoped.”

“Did you take the boy in, in hopes one day he would marry Aurora?”

Dom laughed, “a husband for my daughter was not on my mind when I took Ren in. For God’s sake, man, she had only been a child when I found Ren.”

Stefano nodded with a smile. “He has turned into a wonderful man, under your tutelage.”

Dom sighed, “I just wish his father had found him sooner. But they have time to make up for lost time.”

“Indeed,” Stefano said with a nod.

“Now we just need to plan the wedding,” Dom said with a grin.

“With Trevisani out of the picture, that should be easier.”

“He’s only temporarily out of the picture. The man will be back. He’s sick with revenge, and he will stop at nothing to get it.”

“So good to be home,” Ren said with a sigh as he entered Aurora’s bedroom.

Aurora smiled, “we’re in my room, not your house.”

He looked at her. “Anywhere with you is home.”

She chuckled. “Does that include the hospital?”

“Oh, God, no. That place wouldn’t be home if you decorated it in all the fine furnishings.”

Aurora laughed as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “Well then, welcome home, my love.”

He grinned as he leaned down and kissed her lips. “Been too long,” he said as he lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bed.

“Much too long,” she said with a moan as he started stripping her.

“Do you know how much I burned for you while you laid beside me in that hospital bed?” He asked as he slipped her shirt over her head.

She giggled, “about as much as I did.”

He groaned as he looked down at her. She wore no bra, and her ripe breasts were exposed to his wandering gaze.

“No bra, why Miss Romano, were you expecting something?”

She grinned, “only you.”

He grunted as he kissed her.

Their lovemaking was like a welcome home as he held her close and pleasured her in all the right ways.

The next couple of weeks went by fast as everyone planned for the upcoming wedding and baby shower. Wedding first, then baby shower. Isabella told her daughter as they went through a magazine full of wedding dresses. When Aurora found the wedding dress she wanted, she took it to the woman they had bought Sofia’s dress from, and the woman was delighted to make the dress for her.

The flowers they chose were pink and red roses, with baby’s breath, the men had red roses on their collars.

When the day of the wedding came, Aurora was beside herself with excitement. Her dress was gorgeous. Her hair was arranged on her head in a way that made her look like a princess. Especially with the tiara, her father had given her, for something old. Apparently, it had belonged to her great-grandmother.

“Perfect,” Isabella said as a tear slid down her cheek.

“Thanks, Mom,” Aurora said with a smile as she looked at herself in the mirror.

“So beautiful,” Sofia said with a sniffle.

Aurora chuckled as she looked at her mother and sister. “I can’t believe everything that has happened this year. I was almost killed too many times to count. I always had someone there to protect me,” she said as she took hold of her sister’s hand when she remembered the day Sofia had saved her from Martina.

“Ren has been there more than I have,” Sofia said with a smile.

Aurora smiled as she placed a hand over her stomach and looked down, it was getting bigger and bigger. She looked more than almost six months pregnant.

“Soon, I will have someone to protect, too,” Aurora whispered.

“And you will do a wonderful job of it,” Isabella said with a smile.

Aurora looked up at her mother with tears in her eyes. “Will I?”

“Oh, Aurora, of course, you will,” Isabella said as she pulled her daughter into her arms.

“But I couldn’t even fight off Martina,” Aurora said with a hiccup.

“I’ll tell you what,” Sofia said as she placed her arm over her sister’s shoulders and pulled her and their mother closer. “After the baby is born, Nicola, and I will teach you to fight.”

Aurora stared at her sister. “Really?”

Sofia nodded, “yep. Soon, you will be able to fight off a hundred Martinas.”

Aurora laughed, “just one will be fine.”

Sofia nodded, “maybe three or four,” she whispered.

Aurora shook her head. “Okay.”

“Look at you two. My beautiful daughters,” Isabella said as she wiped her eyes.

“Oh, I have a surprise for you,” Sofia said with a grin.

“What?” Aurora asked excitedly. What else could these wonderful people give her that they haven’t already?

“Close your eyes,” Sofia said with a smile.

Aurora obeyed, and Sofia moved to the door and slowly opened it, then placed her finger to her lips as she let the surprise inside.

“What is it Sofia, I’m getting anxious here,” Aurora said as she tried to listen to what her sister was doing.

She could hear the click of shoes on her bedroom floor. Someone has joined them. A whiff of a familiar scent wafted over to her, and her eyes popped open in excitement.

“Grace!” She screamed so loud everyone covered their ears with laughter as Aurora ran across the room and embraced her best friend.

Grace Mullins laughed as she hugged her best friend. She had been so worried about Aurora, especially when she’d heard about the mess at the Jilani house.

“Oh, Grace, you’re actually here,” Aurora said with a cry.

“Your sister found me and told me everything,” Grace said as she cried against her best friend since they were kids.

“Almost everything,” Sofia said with a smile.

“You look so beautiful,” Grace said as she backed away from Aurora. “Look at you, getting married and having a baby,” she said as she rubbed Aurora’s stomach.

Aurora smiled, “I fell in love.”

Grace laughed, “so I was told. And look, I’m a bridesmaid,” she said as she twirled around in her light pink dress.

“Oh, how wonderful,” Aurora cried.

“Enough of the tears, Rory, I’m here, and you’re happy.” Grace said with a grin.

“Yes,” Aurora said with a nod.

“Look at your makeup, need to fix it now,” Isabella said as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

“I need to pee,” Aurora whispered.

The other women laughed. “Want to take it off or have us hold it for you?” Sofia asked.

Aurora grunted, “hold it because I can’t hold my bladder,” she said as she ran to the bathroom.

Sofia and Grace laughed as they chased after her.

Isabella smiled. Her daughter was so happy. And soon there will be a little one around the house again.

Ren stood at the end of the aisle as he waited for the wedding to start. He was so nervous his hands were sweating.

“Easy now,” Nicola said with a laugh as he placed his hand on Ren’s shoulder.

Ren nodded, “right, easy.”

“Here they come,” someone said as they ran down the Aisle and took their place at the front.

Ren barely noticed that it was his father as he looked at the man.

Riccardo Mancini smiled as he sat in the front row of his son’s wedding. He was grateful that he has not missed the most important day of his son’s life, next to the delivery of that grandson of his, in a few months.

The music changed, and everyone looked down the aisle as a lovely woman with short blond hair, in a light pink dress, started down the aisle towards them.

“Who’s she?” Ren whispered to Nicola.

“Grace Mullins,” Nicola whispered, “Sofia surprised Aurora by finding her and bringing her here.”

Ren smiled at the woman as she approached them. He remembered her name, she’s Aurora’s best friend.

Grace stared at the groom and his best man. So, this is what her friend has been up to. They were both gorgeous, her friend is so lucky. Maybe she’ll stick around here for a while, spend some time with her friend, and get to know these sexy as hell Italians.

“God, she’s beautiful,” Nicola whispered into Ren’s ear when Sofia headed down the aisle towards them.

Ren chuckled, “and you’re taking her home tonight.”

“Damn right I am,” Nicola said as he drooled.

“Dude, stop looking at your wife, you’re drooling on my tux.” Ren said as he used his handkerchief and wiped the drool from his shoulder.

Nicola chuckled, “wait till you see your woman.”

Ren didn’t have to wait long. The music changed to the wedding march, and everyone stood and turned as Dom came to the end of the aisle, his daughter on his arm.

“I’m so happy, I can burst,” Aurora whispered to her father as a smile spread across her face when she saw Ren waiting for her at the end of the aisle. He looked so good she wanted to bite him.

Dom smiled, “I am happy that you are happy, my Gem.”

Aurora looked up at him. “You haven’t told me what that means.”

Dom smiled, “another time, Piccolo, right now, focus on your groom,” he said as he nodded towards Ren.

Aurora turned to Ren and almost laughed at the look on his face. She was glad she had chosen this pattern for her dress. It lifted her breasts almost to her chin, giving her so much cleavage, they almost spill out of the top. Them being full, from her pregnancy, helped that out a lot.

It formed over the small ball of her stomach that anyone could tell she was already pregnant, and she didn’t care. The material was lace and silk and felt so good against her hot skin. The long sleeves covered most of her scars, but that wasn’t what she was aiming for. She knows that she’s beautiful because Ren sees her as beautiful.

And that was all that mattered.

“Who gives this woman away?” The Priest asked as he stepped down from the podium.

“I do,” Dom said, then leaned down and kissed Aurora on the cheek before he handed her over to Ren.

“You look good enough to eat,” Ren whispered into her ear.

She grinned up at him. “I was thinking almost the same thing about you, only I want to bite you.”

Ren stared at her, his eyes turning so dark, she gave him a saucy smile. And when he adjusted himself, she chuckled—what a time for him to get hard, right in front of their Priest, no less.

“We are gathered here today..."

Aurora didn’t hear most of what the priest said, she was so enthralled with her man.

“I do,” Ren said as he slid the ring onto her finger.

Aurora looked into Ren’s eyes, and her heart swelled with joy.

“And do you, Aurora Romano, take this man, Lorenzo Mancini, to have and to hold until death do you part?”

Aurora smiled as she held onto Ren’s hand and slid the ring onto his finger. “I do, for now, and always.”
