Chapter 1
Hiiiiiii!!!!!!!!
This is my first published book and I’m very excited. This book is very close to my heart because I’ve tried to write books before but they always came out typical and predictable. I realised I was writing what everyone else wanted and not what I wanted.
So here is my first attempt at what I want...
I hope you enjoy!!!
Love you all

“Daddy help!!! Please daddy!!! I wanna go with you!!”
“Well, unfortunately for you, you’re stuck with me you, little brat!”
She was holding me back. I couldn’t reach him. I needed to get to him.
She dug her nails into the sides of my arms, the faint smell of blood seeping down my sides was evident. The pain was small but ever so present, but I couldn’t focus on the pain. I needed him to stay.
“DADDY PLEASE TAKE ME WITH PLEASE!! I WANT TO GO WITH YOU PLEASE!!!”
I reached out to him but he began to drift further and further out of my grasp. I didn’t want to be stuck with her. I didn’t want to lose him.
“You ungrateful little bitch, I raised you!” she screamed whilst throttling me.
“PLEASE DADDY, I WANT TO GO WITH YOU!! I DONT WANT TO STAY WITH HER!! PLEASEEEE DADDDDY!!!” I begged.
I sat crying in a puddle of my own tears. I needed him.
She took me away from him.
The numbness started in the tips of my fingers and slowly escalated up my body. I sat motionless when the walls around me started to close in.
I was stuck and my fate was closing in on me, but the sad part was I wasn’t even scared. I wanted to go. What was the point of staying alive, if he was going to leave me. I was ready to go.
SPLASSSSSHHHHH!!!!
I jumped to consciousness. I was covered in ice cold water.
“Maliyah, are you ok? I didn’t know what to do, you wouldn’t wake up so I did the first thing that came to mind. Please tell me your ok!” my dad asked as he looked at me with worry.
“I’m fine.”
I stood up but before I could go further, he pulled me by my wrist.
“What dad?” I asked without looking back.
“You know you can talk to me, right? I’m here for you and if you want I could set you up with Dr Lewis, dear...”
“I said I’ll be fine, you don’t need to send me to a shrink.” I answered with anger.
Silence consumed the room and it wasn’t comfortable type. I needed him to leave, I needed to be alone.
“Can you leave now?” It came out harsher than I had intended but I didn’t care. Like I said before, I needed to be alone.
He got up and headed towards the door, before he left my room, he turned to look at me.
“I need you to realise that what happened to you doesn’t need to define you. Promise me you won’t let it define you?” he asked.
“I promise.” I smiled a tight-lipped smile.
I wanted to believe what I had just promised my dad, but I think it was too late.
It had already taken over.
She had won.
