Chapter 7

While Allie was at school and was taking the books she needed for the next lessons from the locker, she saw him, near the office, the books fell out of her hand and without her noticing, ran towards him, screaming his name and embraced him. Unfortunately he noticed that, and he didn't hug her back. "Will?"

Allie pulled away from him and looked at him confused.

"You must be Allie, hi. I'm Will's mother. "

The woman held out her hand.

"Hi." Allie squeezed it.

"You should know that unfortunately in this period Will doesn't feel like he wants to talk, he doesn't even do it with me." Allie looked at Will. "And there is also a problem." The woman continued. "I work every day during this time all day and come home late, my children all have a family now and I'm divorced and I'm looking for someone who can take care of him."

"I don't need help, Mom. I can do it very well on my own. " For the first time, Allie heard a new voice from Will, hard and icy.

"You know very well that it is not so."

"We can do it if you want."

Allie offered, hoping to melt the ice she saw in Will.

"Really honey? Oh, thank you! "

The woman hugged Allie tightly and left. Allie took courage.

"Can I see your lessons?"

"I said I don't need your help."

Allie heard that even harder voice, now that she lost patience, told him softly: "All right. If you think you can do it, then have fun looking for the class by yourself. "

Allie turned and slowly walked away, Will began to feel trapped and felt guilty.

"Ehi! Wait!"

Allie smiled and turned away. "Yes?"

"You're right." Suddenly Allie saw that all that ice on his body was melting and she recognized Will's true sweet voice. "I can't do it alone. I need help. Could you?"

Allie was glad of that reaction. "I could ... if you change your attitude towards me and also towards other people."

"You know, it's not easy what I'm going through."

"And what should say Nick, Will? He never had arms or legs and you will not have sight for a short time. "

"Are you sure?" Will told her with a little bitterness.

"Yes. I put a hand on the fire. "

"You could burn yourself."

"So is that why you behaved like that with me? To not make me suffer? And do you think that with that attitude you would have improved things? "

"You would have found someone better than me. I don't think you deserve me. "

"Well you're wrong!" Allie told him hardly in her voice that she didn't even realize she had, but then she calmed down. "We'll come out together, you'll see."

"Ok." Will gave up and Allie put her arm around his. "What are you doing?"

"Do you want help or not?"

"But so it seems we are a couple. Not that I don't like the idea ... "

"Weren't you the one who said 'Who cares about what people think?' "

"Quite right."

"Anyway, don't take advantage of it because if I come to find out that the view has come back to you before and then you fake it for a while, I'll come looking for you and I assure you that the war will be a walk compared to how I'll reduce you. Understood? "

Will laughed. "Got it."
