Chapter 6

Austyn's POV

Your probably wondering, "How was dinner with the Blacks? Did Derek leave you alone or did He try something?" Etc, etc, etc.

Let me just ask you guys one question.

Have you ever, just once in your lifetime wished that you were born in a different family? A family where you aren't judged for who you are. A family that was caring, loving, respectful, sometimes annoying, but always there for you.

Yeah, right now I really wish I had different parents, especially after what they just did to me! I don't even know if I can call them that any more!

Now your probably wondering, "What the hell happened at dinner?"

Well my sweet lovely's, a lot of things can happen at dinner especially if you have Derek Black at the table.

So let me tell you about the worst dinner of my entire life, and trust me, I've had a lot of bad dinners.

It's currently 6:45 p.m. and I'm absolutely dreading this dinner that is about to happen in the next 15 minutes.

Right after my mom announced that the Blacks were coming over for dinner, my mom ask the girls to leave with her fake kindness and told them that they could hangout with me another day.

The girls knew that my mom was being petty and fake towards them, but chose to ignore it for my sake. That's one thing I love about the girls, they know when and how to pick and choose their battles, especially when it comes to my parents.

After I bid the girls goodbye, my mother told me to go shower and get dressed in something formal and then left to go help my father out with cooking and cleaning.

So I've been in my room for about 3 1/2 hours now, and I've dreaded every single minute of it. Why? Because in about 5 minutes I have to go down there a greet my parents, my enemy and his family, not something I wanna look forward too.

Sighing I take a look at my outfit in my full body mirror. I'm wearing a short black dress with shiny, gold heels. I know my mother told me to wear something formal, which in her mine it means a white, long dress with sandals, but ha, nope.

I will never ever wear something that my mother wants me to wear, I will always do the opposite of what she wants.

Ding Dong

Groaning at the sound of the doorbell and the slight yell of my mother's voice I take one last glance at myself in my full body mirror before heading out of my room, downstairs, to the living room as slow as possible.

As I reach the end of the staircase, I hear voices talking away in the dining room. I make my way over in the direction of the voices and stop when I reach the door way.

No one has seem to notice me, well all but one, and I'm pretty sure you can figure that one out. I take this as my opportunity and take a glance at everyone in the room.

At the head of the table is my father and to the right of him is my mother. Their both wearing white pieces of clothing: my father wearing a white suit and my mother wearing a white dress.

I can't wait to hear what mother thinks of my outfit when she sees me.

To the left of my father is an older, but good looking man who looks like he's in his mid 40s maybe late 40s and to his left is a beautiful, angelic woman who looks to be in her late 30s, early 40s. If I'm not wrong they are Mr. and Mrs. Dimitri and Jennifer Black. I can definitely say that Derek did not take after their kindness and loving acts, I swear he's adopted.

Observing the room very carefully, the only thing that is shocking is the fact there is an adorable little boy who looks to be about 5 years old sitting on the other side of Mrs. Black.

Did they adopted a kid?

Finally I look over at Derek, the one who is driving me crazy and the one who has been staring at me for the past 5 minutes. He's dressed in a black, leather jacket, a white T-shirt, and dark jeans, slight rips at the knees.

Can't believe I'm fixing to say this and I'm not gonna lie, he looks fucking hot.

I look into his eyes and see them full of lust, amusement, and I think love. We stare into each other's eyes, not miss the parts when we check each other out. Every time he looks over my body he lingers longer each time, making me even more wet than the last time. I'm not sure if I like it or if I hate him even more for making me feel this way. Imma go with the hate one.

A pull on my dress pulls me out of my stare down with Derek. I look down to see the little boy from earlier looking up at me with big doe eyes.

"Hi, I is Matteo!" The little boy says with a big smile.

I bend down to Matteo's height and give him a smile that I haven't given to anyone but the girls.

"Well hello there little man. I'm Austyn but you can call me Aussie instead, okay?" I say in a slight baby voice.

"Otay! Awssie you be me date toniwht? Papa said that Mama is his date and I wanna be jwst like Papa!" Matteo says excitedly. His eyes held hope in them.

"Hm, I don't know..." I say tapping my finger on my chin, looking up at a pissed off Derek.

"Pweaseeeee!" He shows me his puppy dog eyes and right now I know for a fact I'm not gonna be able to resist this little boy, even if I could resist those eyes I would still say yes to Matteo.

"Alright, I'll be your date little man." I say with a slight wink.

Matteo yells a 'yes' and jumps up and down while the rest of us laugh at his cuteness, well everyone but Derek. Currently he's giving Matteo a glare that would make anyone pee their pants.

I roll my eyes at Derek and pick Matteo up. I set him in the chair beside my mom, who by the way is glaring at my outfit, figures, and sit in the chair beside him, which by the way is right besides Derek.

Crap why did I pick this seat! Ughhhh

I look over towards Derek to see him genuinely smiling at me, probably at the fact that I sat willing beside him. I give him a fake smile in return and greet the adults at the table.

The whole time during dinner everyone conversated with each other, and I even got a kiss on the cheek from Matteo, which pissed Derek off once again, but he cooled off after a couple minutes.

After 2 hours of eating and talking, I decide to take everyone's plate and take them to the sink to wash while everyone else goes and sits in the living room.

As I'm washing the dishes, I feel a presence behind me. Before I could turn around and see who it was, big, strong arms wrapped themselves around my waist.

I froze as the mans fingers made small circles into my hips. I slowly placed the dishes in the sink, turning the water off in the process. Before I could process anything else, I was spun around quickly, bumping my head into a solid, rock, hard chest giving my all sorts of whiplash.

After a few minutes of me recovering from the whiplash I was given, I look up into the eyes of the man who apparently has a death wish for putting his hands on me and giving me whiplash.

Looking into the beautiful emerald eyes of my capturer, I knew exactly who was holding me. Derek. I was speechless as I looked into his eyes. His eyes held an emotion I couldn't exactly read, making confusion become written all over my face.

Derek brought his left hand from my hip and softly caressed my cheek. I resisted the urge to lean into his touch.

Why am I like this around him?!

He gave me a small smile before walking out of the kitchen and into the living room where everyone else was, leaving me missing his warmth.

Why am I feeling this way around him? He's my enemy, I shouldn't fall for my enemy!

I stood frozen in time for a few minutes thinking about what just happened. Finally I brought myself out of my trance and finished the dishes.

I place the last dish into the dishwasher and close the door, and make my way to the living room.

As I enter the doorway of the room, I'm not even given time to sit down before I hear the most god awful news of my entire life.

"You and Derek are getting married next month!"
