Chapter Fifteen

Updated the character descriptions to include Angela’s parents now. In case anyone wondered why her parents weren’t there, it was because it would’ve given it away. If you didn’t wondered, then then why not? :D

Angela was tossing and turning in her sleep. She was dreaming, but it didn’t seem like a dream. It felt real, it felt how it had happened before. Could it be a memory from when she was a little girl? She was watching the memory as it unfolded, she as she was currently was not in it.

“Come here moya milaya.” Desya crouched and held his arms out.

“Papa!” A small Anhelina ran with her tiny feet to her father. He swooped her up and swung her around.

“Anhelina, ya lyublyu tebya.” Desya kissed the top of her head.

“I love you too Papa!” Anhelina hugged her father tightly.

“Now listen carefully.” He looked at her with those familiar stern cold eyes that she seen her father look at his crew with.

“Okay, Papa. I listen.”

“Your name will be Angela from now on. I gotta go away for a while, but I’ll come back and get you. Okay?” Desya said gently but with a firm voice.

“Papa, don’t leave me. What about Mama?” Anhelina began to cry and her father wiped away her tears.

“Mama is making a sacrifice for our family and for the family. You must not speak Russian anymore, only English.” Desya gently stroked her hair. He crouched down again and put her down. “Go say bye to Mama.”

Without looking back, little Anhelina ran to her parent’s bedroom where her mother was sitting on the bed. Just as Anhelina was about to call out to her mother, everything faded.

Angela shot up in her bed, tears were running down her face. She wiped them away and she felt so sad, but she couldn’t remember the dream. Whatever she dreamed about made her very sad, and yearning for family for someone to tell her that everything will be okay. She brought her knees up to her chest and hugged him as tears kept falling without restraint. She closed her eyes and calmed her thoughts and tried to remember the dream. She was able to recall one small piece, but nothing more. She was a little girl and her father was there and he was speaking, but that was it.

There was a knock on Angela’s door, but she didn’t hear it. The door opened and Alessio walked in.

“Angela? Are you okay?” Alessio asked with concern in his voice as he made his way to her bed and sat on the edge.

“Alessio...I don’t know. I’m so confused. I dreamed.” Angela wiped the rest of her tears and lifted her head to look at him.

“Dreamed, what about?” Alessio saw her puffy eyes and the tear tracks, but he wasn’t going to question her about that. She just needed someone to be with her.

“I don’t really remember. What I do remember was being a little girl and my father was telling me something. When I woke up, I was so sad and I longed for my family.” Angela’s eyes began to well up again, but she didn’t let them fall.

“It could possibly be because of what you were told yesterday, your subconscious brought forth a memory that you forgotten.” Alessio said rubbing her back.

“That makes sense, so then that means that I did know how to speak Russian.” Angela fiddled with her hands as she thought about her childhood.

“Indeed because it would be very strange for the child of two Russian to not know any Russian. Perhaps the trauma of the accident made you forget.”

“I want to know what I’ve forgotten. I knew my father loved me, but now I’m questioning whether he truly loved me. He’s alive and I’ve been through so much hell and what was he doing through that entire time?” Angela hung her head low.

“Hopefully we can answer that for you.” A new voice from the doorway said. Both Alessio and Angela looked up and saw Luca leaning against the doorframe.

“Luca.” Angela felt like her whole being lifted whenever she saw him, “Morning.”

Alessio chuckled, “Well, it seems like I’m not needed anymore. Imma go seek out my wife and get some loving from her.” He shook his head laughing as he left the bedroom.

“Morning Angie. How did you sleep?” Luca walked over to the bed and sat next to her.

“Did you hear?” Angela asked deflecting his question.

“Yes, I did but I want to hear you say it to me.” Luca winked at her and kissed her forehead.

“Well...I dreamed about a moment when I was a child. My father was talking to me, I don’t remember what it was about. But waking up, it made me sad and I longed to see him again.” Angela placed her head on Luca’s shoulder.

“I’m sure Emiliano has an update for us. But I think it is possible that your father will seek you out again.” Luca stroked her hair. “I would like to think that he does care for you.”

“Perhaps if I do see him again, do you think that I would remember the stuff that I forgot as a child?”

“It is certainly a possibility.” Luca stood up from the bed and grabbed a robe that was hanging on a chair by the bed and held it out to her. “C’mon, let’s get some food in you. If you thought the dinner was good, then you should try Mrs. Bianchi’s breakfast.”

Angela pushed back the blankets and got out of bed and slipped on the robe that Luca held out.

On their way to the kitchen, they were stopped by a ragged, out of breath Emiliano.

“Emiliano, what are you doing out of your lab? This must be really serious for you leave.” Luca said looking at Emiliano who was now leaning against the wall in the hallway trying to catch his breath. Emiliano had dark bags under his eyes, his hair was ruffled most likely from him messing with it.

“Ha....ha.....we got hacked last night. This person....was very good....” Emiliano said between short breaths.

“Take a deep breath and say it all at once.” Luca said firmly.

“Last night, someone hacked into my system and it was not easy to get them out. It was a very long ordeal that lasted a couple hours. From looking at what they were targeting, they tried to get information on Angela and the Kavanaughs. But the information I had, didn’t take long for me to get. So I don’t know why they would target us, unless they knew Angela was with us.” Emiliano then looked directly at Luca and said, “Turned out it was a he, and left a message saying ‘you’ve done me a great service, tell Luca that I want to meet with him. Tomorrow at Crestview Park at noon, bring Angela’. After that, my system was back to normal. I had passed out from exhaustion and just woke up five minutes ago and needed to tell you right away.”

“Noon, huh? That four hours away. From the message, that has to be Desya and the great service is me rescuing from that scum.” Luca crossed his arms “I guess Desya either has computer skills or he got someone to do that for him.”

“Luca?” Angela asked uncertainly from where she stood by his side watching him tense up, but still remain calm.

“Yeah Angie? Don’t worry, I won’t allow any harm to come to you. I also won’t make you come with me if you don’t want to.” Luca turned his head towards her and had a small smile on his face to reassure her.

“I-I...know. I-I want t-to go...” Angela stammered and bit her lip in frustration.

“Thank you Emiliano, take a break and actually rest for once. I don’t think that you’ll do this, but I think you’ll need to be in better condition for later. This is clearly just beginning.” Luca nodded at Emiliano.

“Yes Boss. I’ll take a break after checking over the system again.” Emiliano chuckled and walked away.

“Alright, let’s go tell the others.” Luca took one of her hands and gave her a soft squeeze and walked to the dining room.

“Thank you Luca. For being here.” Angela smiled widely as she felt the warmth of his hand and it just made her feel warm all over.

All Luca did was just look back at her with a small smile, there was no response needed. They both knew how she felt with the new information. Luca would also stay by her side. Not even her father would be able to keep him away. He found and he was going to try his hardest to keep her.
