Conor Lloyd’s PO.V.
Today was a day like any other. It was hot as hell outside and with no scheduled shipments coming in or out today everyone was lounging around the clubhouse. I was just about to suggest to some of the guys that we go drinking when someone started knocking on the clubhouse door.
I took my gun out of my cut, some of the others did as well, since we all knew we weren’t expecting anyone today. I opened the door not seeing anyone, I stepped outside. I turned around to go back inside just to see a small redhead slumped against the side of our porch that looked like she had the tar beaten out of her.
“SOMEBODY GET DOC!” I yelled before rushing to her side.
Every visible inch of her skin looked to be covered in bruises and her eyes looked swollen shut. Her lip was all busted up and she was bleeding from multiple cuts and wounds.
“Ah!” she cried out in pain as I hooked my right arm under her knees and my left arm behind her back.
“I’m sorry doll but I gotta get you inside,” I whispered to her softly.
“M… Mi,” she stammered.
“Shhhh,” I cooed her, “save your strength okay.”
“N… No,” she said firmly. “I n… need t.. to talk.. to m.. mi.. Miles, p.. pl... please,” she begged clutching my cut in her tiny fist.
“Okay I’ll get you Hines, but first I’m gonna take you to see Doc okay,” I whispered to her. She feebly nodded her head before falling limp against my chest.
“Shit,” I cursed realising she passed out. I rushed her to Doc’s work room yelling at a prospect on the way to get Hines.
I was standing outside Doc’s room waiting on Hines to get his ass down here.
“Hey VP,” he said, strutting down the hall towards me.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
“What’s going on Hines is that a bloody beaten up girl just showed up on our doorstep asking for you,” I said getting in his face.
“You wanna tell me about that before I go to dad and Kayne?” I asked.
Hines didn’t answer me. He just brushed past me and into Doc’s work room. He stilled when he saw that little redhead laying in one of the hospital beds in the room before Doc pulled the curtain around the bed.
“Miles I think we need to talk,” Doc said, grabbing his attention.
“Alone,” she emphasized looking straight at me.
I huffed and headed down the hall to my dad’s office to fill him in on everything.
Miles Hines P.O.V.
I couldn’t believe the sight before my eyes. My little Lani was laid out on one of Doc’s hospital beds beaten beyond recognition. Only a handful of club members knew about my past relationship and just who exactly Alani is to me. I sat on the edge of her bed carefully and moved a lock of her red hair from her face before facing Doc.
“What happened to her Meredith?” I asked.
She let out a deep sigh before handing me a chart.
“There’s no easy way to tell you this Miles but Alani has been raped, repeatedly. Not only by multiple different people but also a foreign object was used on her as well,” she told me, resting a calming hand on my shoulder.
“Who did this?” I asked her, trying to keep my voice calm.
“It’s gonna take some time for me to analyze each sample and get a match but just because they raped her doesn’t mean they are responsible for the rest of her condition,” she told me.
“Did she say anything to you?” I asked her.
“She begged me to tell you to get Maxi,” she said, “She’s afraid he isn’t safe.”
Just as I was about to ask her more, the President and Founder walked in with Conor right behind them with his arms crossed and a smug look on his face.
I calmly stood up, “Get out Llyod!” I barked at him.
“Calm down Hines,” Founder Kayne instructed me.
“Conor has brought some things to our attention that we need to address with you,” President Jaden said calmly.
“You mean Alani beaten to a bloody pulp,” I snarled, ripping the curtain away from the bed, not caring as it fell to the floor.
“Conor leave,” Jaden instructed his son with his fist clenched by his side.
“I’m the fucking VP I have a right to know what’s going on dad,” Conor protested.
“And as your fucking president I’m ordering you to leave. NOW!” he spat back.
Conor always had a problem with me simply because I was gay. He was always looking for something to get me in trouble and it honestly never bothered me. Not until he suggested in the hallway that I had something to do with what happened to my little Lani.
“What happened to her Miles?” Kayne asked me, stepping forward and taking Alani’s small hand in his.
Kayne and Alani’s mother had been very close in their school days and he had always kicked himself for letting that woman go. He tried to get custody of her when her parents died but she ended up being awarded to her uncle, my ex, Hudson Harington.
“All I know is what Meredith has been able to tell me,” I said with a sigh, running my hands down my face and sitting down at the foot of her bed.
“She was brutally raped and beaten. By some miracle there are no broken bones but she’s bruised the fuck up and she’s got multiple stab wounds and cuts,” I told him.
He hung his head, “I’m so sorry baby girl, I should’ve fought harder for you.”
“This isn’t your fault Kayne,” Jaden spoke up, “but I’ll be damn if the mother fucker who did this isn’t found and punished.”
“If she had been here with us she would have been protected,” Kayne snarled.
“I want Kayce on her protection detail until we find the bastard that did this. I trust him more than anyone,” I told them.
Jaden smirked at that, “Lani always had the biggest crush on Duncan any time she came around.”
“Duncan better keep his grubby hands to himself,” Kayne snarled.
“He wouldn’t do anything to hurt her Kayne, you know that,” I told him.
“Doesn’t matter. Lani has been through enough. I don’t want him fucking with her head. Whether he hurts her intentionally or not she’s only gonna get hurt messing around with that boy,” he spat.
The whole club knows Kayce has had his fair share of women. A few of the club women have labeled him a man-whore. But I trust he wouldn’t start anything with her knowing he had no intentions of staying by her side. He told me himself when Alani was 14 and wanted him to be her first boyfriend that he couldn’t because he knew he’d hurt her. Kayce has always put Alani’s best interest first and I knew he always would.
“I’m gonna let him know and give him a little chat while I’m at it,” Kayne grumbled before walking out.
“You know coincidentally there’s an empty room right next to Kayce’s room,” Jaden said, tapping his finger against his chin.
I chuckled, “You really gonna go AGAINST Kayne to set those two up?” I asked him.
He shrugged, “Just because their rooms are next to each other doesn’t mean anything will happen.”
I just raised my brow at him.
“You’re the one that wants him to be her 24/7 bodyguard,” he said, “And should something happen, strategically it would be best if their rooms were next to each other.”
“Uh huh,” I replied.
