Chapter 3

"I hope you ain't talking about me." Horatio's deep voice greeted as he stood up with a smirk on his face.

Maoliosa was a little stunned. But, managed to walk in and take her seat behind her desk. "No. I was talking about a colleague of mine. Please, have a seat."

Horatio smiled and sat down, his gaze fixed on her. "Your kind friend Miss Ashaz let me in. I hope, it's fine?"

Maoliosa smiled slightly. Ofcourse, she did. "Absolutely. I can show you Umniya's class, if you are lost."

Horatio tilted his head. His gaze not flickering. "So, eager to get rid of me? Do you find me annoying too, Professor?"

Maoliosa was lost at words for few seconds, and then shook her head. His gaze is just so piercing. "Oh, no. I just, thought you were here for Umniya."

Horatio smiled a little wider. "I actually came here looking for you."

"Oh." Was all Maoliosa could utter.

Horatio moved forward in his seat. "Well, I wanted to ask you out for dinner. I'm aware working days might not be good idea. But, if you are willing. How does tonight sound?"

Maoliosa took few moments to process and then pressed her lips in a thin line. "Oh. I actually have plans for today. How about tomorrow?" She raised her eyebrows.

Horatio nodded with a smile. "Tomorrow would be good. Just in case. It's a date." He felt like he had to add with a wink.

Maoliosa opened her mouth and then closed it nodding with a smile. "Sure."

"Great." Horatio nodded. "I think, I should leave you to your work." Horatio stood up.

"See you, Tomorrow." Maoliosa stood up, too.

Horatio again looked at Maoliosa with his head a little tilted. "Would you mind walking me to my car, Professor?"

"Sure. I mean, wouldn't be an issue." She rounded her table, walked towards the door.

Horatio opened the door for her and let her walk out first and he walked out.

As soon as she steped out of her cabin. All the eyes were on her.

She cursed herself in her head. It's the time for break and everyone is scattered in the corridors. Most headed towards cafeteria and few headed outside.

She should have sat in her cabin.

Everyone looked at her like they have seen an Alien.

In reality. She and the man accompanying her are both humans.

"I have heard a lot about your student response." Horatio grabbed her attention back as he started walking alongside her with his hands in his pockets.

Maoliosa shook her head with a small smile. "Oh, you must have heard that from Umniya. I'm sure, most of the students would tell you, I'm a bitch."

Horatio smirked up at her. "Well, the student's council said, you are the best Professor they have ever had."

Maoliosa looked at him with mouth slightly open, furrowed eyebrows and narrow eyes. "The student's council? How did you come to know about that?"

Horatio shrugged. "I'm one of the members on the board."

Maoliosa raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Since when?"

He felt a rush surprising her. It felt exhilarating. "Since, Umniya wanted to study here. 2016."

She seemed impressed. "Oh. Wow. I didn't know that."

He shrugged again. "Well, Umniya didn't wanted to disclose it."

"Oh. I can understand. That girl avoids attention." She nodded as they reached the parking lot.

He stopped by a sleek black Car and unlocked it. Taking out his phone, he handed it over to her. "If you give me your number now. It might be easier for you to send me your location, tomorrow. I would like to pick you up."

She grabbed his phone with a smirk. "Well, that was smooth." She entered her phone number and handed it back to him.

"And, yes. Before, I forget. I wasn't sure, what should I get you while asking you out. So, I got you some brownies. And forgot them here." He pulled out a big pack of freshly baked brownies from his car.

She hesitated, but accepted them. "That's very kind of you. Thank you, so much."

"See you tomorrow, Professor." With a grin on his face, he got inside his car.

She turned around grinning and marched back towards her cabin, with her eyes straight, whistle he drove off.

When she returned to her cabin. She found Faryal sitting in her seat with raised eyebrows and a smirk. "I bet the whole University is talking about you and Mr. Hot."

Maoliosa rolled her eyes and took her seat. "Don't you think that's exaggeration?"

"Nonsense. Where did you get those brownies from?" Faryal asked with raised eyebrows.

Maoliosa shrugged as a smile crept on her face. "Horatio got it. Apparently, he wasn't sure what to get me."

"Woah. His wooing game is so strong." Faryal clapped.

"I doubt that." Maoliosa opened the box with smile and dug in to those delicious brownies.

Faryal watched Maoliosa enjoy the brownies with a smile. She could never understand her sweet tooth of a friend. Her friend prefers sweet while she prefers spice. "You know, I love the bond you share with food right? The way you love and enjoy food."

Maoliosa was so endulged in eating. She just hummed.

After work, when she went for biometric, she felt like everyone was watching her. And, few even asked her who the man she was talking to was. She told them he was a friend.

She directly went to Faryal's house after work. Both of them driving their own cars.

As she entered Faryal's house, she saw a little change in the arranged furniture.

She felt a little itching to put the furniture back in it's place. The place she assigned for them.

It wasn't a secret that Maoliosa was a hygiene and organisation freak.

Badiah greeted them with. "I hope, you like the changes I've made."

"Oh no. It was good having you in my life, Sister." Faryal replied with a chuckle.

"Shut up, Far." Maoliosa moved Faryal and hugged Badiah. "How have you been?"

"Good. You?" Badiah patted Maoliosa's back and pulled away.

"Oh, I've been good, too. So? What's the plan?" She asked as three of them walked towards the couches in the living room and settled themselves down.

Badiah was first to suggest. "Hey. I haven't watched Stranger things. And, heard it's a really great show. Did you both watch it?"

"Nope." Both replied in unison.

Badiah stood up and clapped her hands twice. "Alright, then. I will heat up the food I've made, you both go and freshen up. Then we can watch few episodes."

"Great." Maoliosa stood up and walked towards the bathroom.

Faryal groaned. "Right now?"

Badiah gave her younger sister a look. "Right now."

That made Faryal head towards another bathroom, too.

Faryal had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. And, she was the youngest.

A baby amoung and for them.

Three of them were having a great time in their PJs and spent the whole night binge watching the show. And, didn't realise untill it was 3am.

Maoliosa checked her phone and she almost screamed. "What the Fuck. It's almost 3am."

"What?" The sisters screamed in disbelief.

"Yes." She showed her phone to them.

"Oh, shit. We must go to sleep. We've got work. And, Maoliosa have also got a date." Faryal only got more comfortable as she paused the show.

"Yes. You cannot be going to that date with dark circles around your eyes." Badiah instructed as she stood up gathering dishes.

Maoliosa did the same. Both of them finished doing dishes in 10 minutes and came back to the living room to find Faryal asleep on the couch.

Both of them gave eachother a look, chuckled and departed to their sleeping places.

The next morning, Maoliosa drove home, showered, got dressed and left for her work.

She punched in her biometric and walked to her cabin. Unlocking it, she started preparing for her class. Faryal walked in few moments later and she started doing the same.

Not many moments later, there was a knock on her door.

She and Faryal have eachother a look. "Yes?" She called out.

The door opened and Maoliosa's attender Mr. Gwalior walked in with a kind smile and a huge bouquet of Queen of the Night. "These are sent by Mr. Horatio Savoia, Professor Ailech."

Maoliosa nodded at him, he walked in, placed them on her table and left.

What the hell?

How on Earth did he findout my favourite flower?
