Chapter 37 [Part 1]

Jack’s pov

It has been weeks since I left hospital and I am recovering well from the mild alcohol poisoning. Although I am able to move around, I haven’t left my room. I’ve just been laying in bed 24/7 or sleeping. I don’t feel like doing anything. All I can think about is Sienna. I want to be with her but she may never forgive me. She finally got the courage to tell me the truth but I threw it back in her face. I hurt her. She must be as heartbroken as I am. I know she lied to me and can see now that none of this was her fault or mine. It was all her Dad’s fault. If he wasn’t so messed up, we’d still be together and happy like we were before he took Sienna away from me for his own selfish reasons.

“Jack how long are you going to keep yourself locked away in here?” Dad asked me when he came to give me lunch in bed as I refused to leave the room. I had no interest in anything, especially food which I forced myself to eat to stay alive.

“I can do whatever I like,” I grumbled.

“Jack, you’re nearly fully recovered. You don’t need to stay in here all day. You can go out you know,”

“I don’t want to,”

“At least leave the room, go downstairs,” Dad suggested.

“I don’t want to,” I repeated.

Dad sighed.

“Fine, have it your way,” Dad put the food tray on my bedside table and left me to it.

Sienna’s pov

When we arrived in front of the home I used to share with Jack, I grew even more anxious. When we knocked on the door, there was no answer. Jack wasn’t home. Maybe he is at work or out. No he can’t be at work at this time in the evening.

“What do we do now?” I asked. I didn’t have a key with me, I didn’t get to take anything with me when Dad kidnapped me, my things are all inside the house. “He can’t be at work, he was always home by this time,”

“Let’s try his parents house, they might know where he is,” Dad suggested and I nodded my head in agreement before we headed to Jack’s parents house.

The door was answered by an anxious looking David.

“Hi David,” I nervously greeted.

“Sienna?” David asked and stared as if he couldn’t believe his eyes before he pulled me forward for a hug. “Thank goodness you’re here and you’re ok,”

“Is everything alright?” I grew worried. “Jack wasn’t answering at home and I thought you might know where he is?”

David was about to answer but then he spotted Dad beside me and without warning, his fist went flying to Dad’s nose.

“What are you doing?” I asked with wide eyes as Dad clutched his now bleeding nose.

“I know what he did. It’s all his fault that my son nearly died,”

“Nearly died?” I asked with teary eyes. “What happened? Is Jack ok?”

“He is now, no thanks to him,” David spat at Dad before punching him again and Dad fell to the ground.

“Dad are you ok?” I asked as I bent down to see if Dad was ok.

“I’m fine,” Dad mumbled before he carefully stood up. David ignored him.

“I’m glad you’re here Sienna. Please come with me,” David pleaded and I nodded my head. David turned away and began to walk towards the stairs.

“I’m fine, go,” Dad insisted. I sighed before following David up the stairs.

“David what’s going on? Is Jack ok?” I asked anxiously. I don’t know what has happened. Jack almost died? I hope he is ok, if he had died....... I don’t know what I would have done.

“He’s fine, you can see him now,” David told me. “He’s in his room,”

“What happened?” I asked.

“I’ll let Jack tell you,”

“Ok,”

David walked me to a bedroom door. He knocked.

“What is it now Dad? I told you I’m not leaving this room,” I heard Jack reply angrily. Oh how I have missed his voice.

“There’s someone here to see you son,” David replied before nodding to me to go inside the room. David walked away. I soon heard him arguing with my Dad before it went quiet and a door slammed shut.

I took a deep breath before opening the door and instantly my eyes met with my husband’s.
