Melody's POV

“He’s born on October 23 means he’s a Scorpio.”

“Is there any problem with that? Him being a Scorpio and me being a Sagittarius?” I asked curiously. Miley glanced at me from the corner of her eye and shrugged.

“How am I supposed to know?”

Is she being serious right now?

“Hello, you are the one who started this zodiac and compatibility shit. So of course you should know!”

I know I sound stupid by talking about zodiac and compatibility things but hey! I was not the one who started it. It was all this stupid brown hair over here.

“First of all, all I did was checking your and mine horoscope and telling you and second, stop speaking out your thoughts.”

Um...Okay so maybe I’m responsible too. I never believed in horoscopes and signs and never will, but you see, my best friend idiot, suddenly appeared yesterday and out of the blue started stating personality traits of Sagittarius. Not exactly, but she did say ”typical Sagittarius being stubborn.”

Naturally, as a non-believer of zodiac signs, I got confused and asked this missy to explain. And that’s where my friends where it all started. And soon enough, this zodiac thing got popular among us girls, all thanks to Aisha who can’t help but stick her nose in others’ business.

I don’t know when and where it happened but I do remember her saying about this thing called compatibility, where she mentioned water and fire signs do not get along or did she say air and water? Anyway, whatever it was, perked up my interest and then I asked her if she could tell if he who shall not be mentioned and I had any chance and she said a plain no. According to her, Aries and Sagittarius mean ‘no-no’. Anyway that was a lost topic so, no need to dwell on that part.

After that, I felt this need to check if Max and I could be a thing, but unfortunately, zodiac thing required birth date and I, didn’t knew about it. But you see, I am Melody Spencer Collins and I, will get what I want, even if it mean stalking through social medias.

But even that plan didn’t workout because, I had no idea what his username was. I tried finding his account by using his real name which of course, ended up in a failure. After trying for so long, I lost my interest and decided to just check other people’s social account for fun. So I was checking this one friend’s account, when I saw something on his certain post.

Max_May2310: Last time I checked that was my bike.

That could have been a random user but that proved wrong hen I started reading the rest of the comments.

Adam_iknowimhot_ : my dude, Max chill. We all know that’s your bike.

Max. But is this Max that Max? There’s only one option to find out. So I did. I clicked on his profile and couldn’t help but air punch in happiness. It was him. But this dude didn’t mention his birthday so...failed again.

But my life saver came in the form of Taliah and her dear diary. Taliah and Miley had this habit of marking their loved ones birthday in their diary, and that, slayed the way. I was hoping to see his name somewhere and I finally did, all thanks to heaven.

Maximus- 23/10/2001

“Seriously?” I snorted. “You actually write Maximus instead of his name?”

Taliah paused in what she was doing and turned back in her chair, sending a sheepish smile in my direction. “I amused to calling him Maximus, so I guess I wrote that in instinct. Haha”

“Hmm.” Guess what, coming here just to give a borrowed utensil is not bad after all. At least I got his birthdate.

_______________

“So all my hardwork is now wasted. Argh! Seriously?”

“A Scorpio heh, yo Mel, what kind of relationship do we both possess?” She asked out of the blue.

“Why are you asking such lame questions?”

“Just answer it.”

“Best friends?” I suggested and Miley tsk-ed .

“Not that one idiot. I mean, like literally. How well do we both get along?”

Oh. So that was what she meant by that. “We get along pretty well I guess.” Miley nodded and leaned back against the chair. “Remember the day we both first met?”

“I guess so. Before 3 years or 4?”

“3 years. If I remember correctly, our first meeting was anything but pleasant. God, we were constantly after each others neck remember? Good old days”

“We still are. But for some other reasons.” I said with a smile and she reciprocated the action. “I hated your guts to be honest.”

“So you don’t hate it now?” I asked, even though I know, she won’t give an answer to satisfy me.

“I’m pretty much used to your stubbornness so, I think its bearable” That earned a playful smack from me.

“Hey”

“Sorry. What I meant to say is, no matter how our first impressions were, we still got along and look at us now. Where do we stand. I hope the same thing will go with both of you.”

My breathing hitched but I tried not to make it obvious. “You like him. I can see it in your eyes, in the way you sound while talking about him. In the way you smile when someone brings up the topic about him. Don’t deny your feelings Melody, let it happen. If you guys are meant to be a thing, you both will be a thing, I guarantee. And if that guy makes you cry like how the other dude did, he’s going to have some problems with me.”

“My my. A scardey cat going to mess with her senior?” I teased her. Miley only smiled in return.

“A scardey cat can turn into a monster when it needs to be one, darling"

“Sure. Sure.”

I doubt she would actually turn into a monster just for me but I’m happy that she is ready to at least give it a try. And she is right. I should not deny it anymore. I for sure have fell for Max Richardson. Its not a thought. Its a fact.
