Chapter 3: I blind someone with my beauty.
I can't go back to YESTERDAY- because I was a different person then
-Alice (Alice in wonderland)
I brushed stray strands of hair away from my eyes and looked up at the guy. There was a whole group of boys behind him. I flashed him my most brilliant smile and stood up.
“I am sorry I did not know that. I am new here.” I said.
Another guy pushed him back and approached me. He was handsome with chestnut hair that fell on his chocolate brown eyes. He smiled and his dimples showed.
“I was wondering how I never saw such a beautiful face here before.” He said looking straight into my eyes.
I smiled sweetly at him and extended my hand.
“I am Crystal, I am a junior.” He took my hand and raised it to his lips, softly kissing my knuckles.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his over-exaggerated “chivalry” and instead smiled softly at him.
“Damon Hughes, the same year as you.” He said flashing me a grin and showing his dimples again.
I looked at his friends.
He noticed and introduced, "Those are the guys.” He dismissively waved his hand at them. His “friends” did not look happy.
“Not fair dude, you made your intro now let us make ours.” A tall redhead guy said.
He came up to me and knelt in front of me taking my hand in his. My eyes threatened to bulge out of my skull.
“Ye beautiful angel, thy beauty blinds Me,” he said and then pressed a kiss on the back of my hand.
I pressed my lips together to suppress the laughter that threatened to burst out of me. He was absolutely cute. He looked up to see my face and a grin started forming on his face.
“I am Gale Stemmings. Nice to meet you, Crystal.” He finally said.
I laughed at him.“Glad to meet you, Gale.” I said.
Then all the other guys made their introductions, they were from the sports team. All jocks. Figures.
“What is your first class?” Damon asked me, trying to draw my attention back towards him.
“A.P English,” I told him.
“Cool. Even I have English. High five.” Gale said extending his hand way higher than I could reach. Even with my above-average height, I found him tall.
“Let me take you to your class,” Damon spoke up.
“I can take her....” Gale started but he was interrupted by Damon.
“Don’t you have to join your best friend there?” Damon said jerking his head in the direction of the parking lot.
Before I could get more than a glance, he pulled me inside the building.
Damon’s hand stayed at the small of my back as he steered me through the crowded hallways. He was popular, quite literally. There were guys who greeted him and girls who flirted with him. He grinned at all of them. I stopped him suddenly.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his eyebrows drawing together.
“My locker is right there,” I said pointing towards the set of lockers we passed.
“Oh sorry, I completely forgot you have to use your locker.” He said.
I searched for my locker and then entered the password. I zipped my bag open and shoved my books into it.
“Where is your bag?” I asked him just realizing that he was not carrying it.
“They will reach my lockers,” he said shrugging.
“What do you mean?” I asked him finally shoving the last of my books and closing the locker.
“Someone will do it for me,” he said placing his hand around my waist.
I wondered if he may have bullied someone into doing his work. I stopped my train of thought right there. It’s not good to judge anyone before knowing them.
“Here is your class.” Damon finally stopped in front of a class. I smiled at him.
“I guess I will see you at lunch then.” He said.
“Yeah, I guess,” I replied and entered my class. I wonder what kind of friendship his would prove to be?
