Chapter 12

“Good morning.” Jackson says in a raspy voice.

“Good morning” I smile while looking up at him and he plants a kiss on my forehead.

“Did you sleep okay?” he asks.

“Yeah I did and you?” I reply.

“Better than I ever have.” He answers with a smile. “Do you want to go get breakfast?” he asks.

“Do you have any food here?” I question.

“Yeah we do, why?” he smirks.

“Because I’m going to cook us breakfast.” I smile while untangling our bodies and jumping off the bed.

“In that?” he says while starring at me with wide eyes.

I look down at myself and remember I am only wearing his t-shirt. I prefer to be more modest so being so bare makes me feel shy but the way he is looking at me right now gives me a confidence push I need to get out of my comfort zone. I want him to find me as sexy as I find him, and I decide this morning I will tease him back for stopping in the middle of the moment last night.

“Yep, in this.” I smirk and walk for the door to head for the kitchen.

“Oh god that’s not fair!” he whines and throws his head back on the pillow letting out a deep breath.

I laugh and walk out of the room, hopefully leaving him with his thoughts running wild about me. When I get to the kitchen, I find pancake batter and I start to mix that and cook them. I also scramble up some eggs to go with. As I stand there waiting for the pancakes to cook, I look out the window at the lake thinking about how I could live here forever, I love it. The thoughts about last night creep back into my mind and I feel my legs start to shake as flashes of Jackson climbing on top of me kissing me, touching me, teasing me…

“What you are thinking about?” Jackson asks as he sneaks up from behind me, putting his arms around my waist and hugging me from the back and places a kiss on my neck.

“Nothing.” I blush.

“Sure, you weren’t.” he smirks while grabbing two plates from the cabinet.

We sit down at the dining room table and eat breakfast together. It kind of starts to feel like we are a married couple and this is our home. I like the feeling; it makes me feel secure. Security is a feeling that I desperately need after being left so abruptly, I know the damage from that has caused some lingering trust issues.

“We better get dressed and hit the road soon. I have practice this afternoon.” He says.

“Yeah I’ve got some studying to catch up on because someone made me skip class.” I say with a flirtatious smile.

“Don’t act like you didn’t enjoy it.” He teases and puckers his lips making kissy noises at me.

“You are so childish.” I laugh while getting up from the table and placing our dishes in the sink before heading into the living room towards hallway where all the bedrooms are with Jackson following closely behind me.

“Oh, you are such a tease!” He says from behind.

“Excuse me?” I say while turning around.

“You are walking in front of me right now with no pants on, you are in nothing but my t-shirt. Such a tease move!” He smirks.

Hearing him say that causes my hormones to surge again. He has such a deep appealing voice that sounds both sweet and dangerous at the same time causing a lethal combination to any defenses I have put up.

“You think that’s being a tease?” I say while walking closer to him.

“I can show you what being a tease is.” I whisper then kiss him quickly before pushing him backwards on to the couch in the living room, climbing on top of him with my knees resting on the couch on each side of him. I throw my arms around his neck and kiss him again this time for longer allowing our tongues to touch. I break the kiss and begin tracing kisses down his neck.

“Fuck” he moans.

By his reaction I can tell that my teasing has definitely got him turned on which is exactly where I wanted him to be.

“And that is how I actually tease.” I whisper in his ear before climbing off his lap and heading towards the bedroom.

“You are not allowed to do that to me!” He shouts and starts heading after me.

“Says who?” I throw my head back and laugh and continue walking.

“Says me!” He yells while grabbing my legs and tossing me over his shoulder, carrying me into the bedroom and tossing me down on the bed. I am laughing so hard my face hurts from smiling as he climbs on the bed and get on top of me again using both legs to straddle my body.

“Kiss me like that again.” He says quietly.

“Like what? Like this?” I whisper in his ear bringing his face down to meet mine and press my lips against his as brings his tongue to mine. I feel his hand slide down the side of my thigh gently grabbing my butt and holding his hand there while we continue the kiss. I run my hand down his stomach and pull his t-shirt up slightly allowing my hands to graze over his perfectly sculpted abs, tracing my index finger along the line of his boxer. Just as I think things are about to go to the next level his phone rings, interrupting us and squashing the moment.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” He groans while climbing off the bed and grabbing his phone.

“Hello?” He answers

“Yeah I’ll be there. I’m in the middle of something can I call you later?” He continues.

“Alright bye.” He says as he ends the call.

“Sorry about that.” He looks at me and says.

“It’s okay, I guess you just ran out of luck.” I smirk with a smile.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty of time to turn my luck around with you.” He smiles.

“I’m going to go get dressed, I’ll let you have some privacy to do the same and I’ll meet you out in the truck.” He says.

“Okay.” I respond with a smile.

I pull his T-shirt off and clause my bra back around me, slide my jeans up and reach for my shirt and jacket but I don’t feel like wearing it again so I decided to pull his t-shirt back on and tie it up in the front. It makes the oversized shirt snug to my curves with a touch of skin poking out between the top of my jeans the bottom of the shirt.

I gather my things and head out to the truck that is already running and I see Jackson through the windshield waiting inside for me as I approach. I open the door and pull myself into the truck and flash him a smile before buckling my seatbelt.

“You are going to be the death of me.” He says.

“What?” I ask with my devilish grin.

“The t-shirt looks sexy like that.” He smiles.

The drive back to my apartment goes by a lot faster than the drive here. I guess that’s because on the way there I had no idea where we were headed and the anticipation was killing me. We pull into my apartment parking lot and I gather up my stuff so I can head up to my room.

“I had a good time.” I say.

“I did too.” He smiles and leans in giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

I reach for the door handle and hop out of the truck with my shirt and jacket in hand.

“Hey Charlie?” He says.

“Yeah?” I ask.

“There is a party tonight at Luke’s. You and Kelly should come.” He suggests with a smile.

“Okay, yeah we will probably do that.” I assure him.

I close his truck door and walk to my apartment. This is the first time we have been separated in twenty-four hours and it already feels weird. I haven’t had a lot of time to collect my thoughts and realize everything I was feeling for him since we were still together but now that I’m alone I know I am falling for him in a way I didn’t even know I could.

I open my apartment door and Kelly is in the kitchen cooking herself some breakfast. Her eyes dart over to me as I walk inside.

“Out all night?” She says with a grin.

“And oh my god, is that his shirt?” She shouts with excitement.

I feel my cheeks turn red. It’s not that I’m embarrassed, Kelly is my best friend I tell her everything. It’s just thinking about everything that happened and being here in his shirt makes me uncontrollably blush.

“Tell me everything!” She says.

“You might want to sit down for this.” I smile.

I go over everything with her. I told her all about how beautiful the lake house is, the boat ride, the picnic with my favorite sandwich, sleeping in bed and the steamy make out sessions.

“Holy crap, I am so here for this! That was a lot more than I was expecting.” She beams.

“I know it was more than I was expecting to happen to but I’m glad it did.” I say.

“So how do you feel about him? I mean is this becoming something real?” She asks.

“Yeah, I think it is.” I answer honestly.

“I couldn’t be happier for you so don’t take this the wrong way alright?” She says causing a lump grows in my throat in anticipation.

“Okay...” I reply.

“Be careful. Just don’t completely let your guard down with him yet. We both know he has a reputation.” She says back.

“Yeah. I guess you’re right.” I mumble.

I know she is just looking out for me and I also know she is right about him having a reputation of being quite the heartbreaker and player. I guess I have just been trying to shove those thoughts into the back of my mind. He is different around me. I just hope I am not just another girl who thinks he is different with her.

“So, what about this party he invited us to?” She asks.

“Yeah it’s tonight at Luke’s. You want to go?” I respond.

“Hell, yes I want to go!” She beams.
